    AFAIK the ones of the Canadian production line are actually built in NZ, then shipped in the major sub assemblies to Canada and finished there. Saves the cost, risk, and hassle of the ferry process.     Been done, wasn't particularly popular, adds wear issues. So you wish to INCREASE the complexity of the system and make it HARDER to deploy a main? It has. It's called the pullout. OIr you could just pay attention to packing. P/C in tow is almost assuredly a packing error, easily prevented. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.     Yup, followed by the next blade too. I hadn't done any training jumps for the speed round in the past couple of months. What I had done quite a bit were wingovers. So being the first round of the Speed comp when my mind went "ok, now....CARVE!" my body went "Wingover, yeah!" Luckily my body caught my mind before I went all the way over to a full wingover, but it was too late, the damage was done. 10 seconds? Ouch! I find the intermediate course more technical to run (when set up properly with 10 foot gates on the inside of the turn) than the longer pro course. Training for the course you'll compete on definately helps, as shown at Nationals last year.

    Some canopies will mal when you do this. *** Errr....should read, some jumpers will mal their canopy when they do this. It's easier to cause said mal on a high performance canopy. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

    I've wondered if anyone has ever had the balls or been dumb enough to try a stall turn on a highly-loaded high-performance canopy. Seems like it would be a really bad move, but I'm quite sure that it would make for some really impressive video! Walt I stall my Xaos's all the time. Andy Farrington and Jeffro have some damn good stall tricks with their's. It's not all that hard to keep the stall controled as long as you make sure to NOT let the canopy surge.... Edit: Rarely do I use toggles. Mostly risers. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

    Something I haven't seen mentioned here (I may have missed it) is that in the time it takes you to reach for, grab, pull and get rid of your cutaway handle you will have continued to fall at least 400 ft. That assumes also that you have no trouble locating it, no trouble extracting it, and if you use the two hands on one handle method you'll be using some more precious time getting to the reserve handle.     The fact it's eliptical in any degree will not make the canopy fly faster through the air to any noticible amount. It will change the speed and ease of a turn for any given input. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
