Well you throw my name around pretty easily, albeit misspelled, so who the fuck are you? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Yes. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I was thinking I might bring a rig or something. Maybe some money too. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I would venture alot of the BASE tracking video you may be looking at has people using some form of tracking pants. In my experience tracking pants are more effective with a somewhat wider stance simply because legs together doesn't allow the pants to fill completely thus reducing the surface area of the pants. Just my 2 cents. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Let me just say this,The first time I have to look for my golf cart there is going to be hell to pay. This is not a challange this is a fact. Please don't test me.Myself and Don do alot of work here before everyone gets here as well as during the boogie and we don't need to spend our time looking for OUR carts. -

And what are YOU going to be using to make the aformentioned stamps? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
Is Chaoskitty getting Wed? Another baseless rumor

Where's mine? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
The point you seem to have missed is that you state you jump to be cool, and in order to be cool you have to share that with someone. That attitude is what is drying up jumps faster than you can blink these days. Vocal jumpers of less than 3 years in this forum, as a trend (note that I don't include ALL) don't realize the damage being done as they have no idea what it was like in years before, nor do they take any interest in the history. I have no illusions that I am or ever will be cool. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

IIRC Jeffro swapped back to non-cascaded set before the Ranch Meet last year ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I'd sugest to provide your current and future canopy choices to the manufacturer and allow them to make the decision. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I'll support the Control line idea. As to the outside lines, If it's a material like Spectra, I'd say do the whole linest because of trim issues, and if it's a more stable line type like HMA, then by the time the outsides are needing replacement so is the rest of the set. Outsides might take more friction wear, but center cell lines see more initial shock load on openings. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. I have met Natasha and am impressed by her accomplishments in the sport, and they are in no way diminished by the money she has available to devote to her pursuit of the sport. I can see part of what loudtom is saying however. When I think of an award like "Skydiver of the Year" I do think of an individual who has a bit more longevity, a wider base of expertise, and has made an impact through innovations, and or education of others within the sport. That's just one person's opinion. There may be people out there that are inspired to greatness because of Natasha's efforts. In any event, we can't see everyone we want win one award, so congratulations to Natasha, and I'll celebrate my personal nominee's by buying them a cold one, or making a jump with them.

Static Line twists / First freefall

So why do line twists occur? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
I believe the FAA has a 60 year age limit to being an ATP. THe could have flown for NW and the NAVY with some overlap. (Think reserves) ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

There are some realy nice .375 lightweight framed revolvers I've seen. Snub barrel, low cost target practice with .38's and big punch with the .357 round. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Washington or Wisconsin. Boulder is a great place, but the dry air sucks, and outside of Boulder the vibe is weak. Wisconsin is somewhere I've never been but met quite a few Skydivers from there and they are great peeps. I Love Washington, and well....you know more about it than I do. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Or it would be alot like skydiving was back in the "day". ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

have you seen this? now, thats pretty NUTS..
diablopilot replied to virgin-burner's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Holy crap! I guess it wouldn't be as bad with the low opening shock though... At terminal that would be fuckin nuts (not that what he did wasn't). Is there video of that somewhere? Go buy the Keen n' Able DVD. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
Static Line twists / First freefall
diablopilot replied to 14000andfalling's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Welcome to the sport! It is because of wrong body position. You do not have time to correct it. On AFF you have more time to correct it. I think AFF is safer. Start doing AFF jumps and you might change your mind. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
DeLand might have sent a PAC750 but their Porter crashed a while back. From what I was told, the 2 PAC's did most of the flying anyway. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

what!?!?!? jealous cuz' they gotta "B" and you don't with all your jump numbers. skydiver-skygod mentality. stay away from BASE. I'm sure they'll stay away from you when you want to jump their stuff up there in canada. nice attitude! HEY I CARE. WRITE MORE. I LIKE WHAT YOU GOT TO SAY! basemman06 and Carpediem keep it up! this is a BASE FORUM. alot of people here care. go to another forum if you don't care. jeez! them: Real Name: Adam Moore Location: North America/Canada/Alberta City: Calgary Occupation: Electrical Technologist Email: No email entered. "Who cares?" What? Does the OP want a cookie because they made a BASE jump, or packed somehwere "different"? Quit Bragging. This ain't Christmas, and I don't care if you got a shinny new bike. As to comparing our profiles, I've got BASE jumps, a rig packed and ready to go any time, I just think it's ridiculous to be bragging about this shit expecting a pat on the head. I also might choose not to advertise the fact I base in conjuntion with my location so prominately. My BASE jumps (or skydiving) doesn't define me, I define them. No wonder the DZ.com BASE Forum is a joke to most. The crew I grew up with when learning much of what I did about BASE (YEARS before I made my first jumps) had some respect for the shadows they had to move in. The only color for a BASE rig was BLACK. Videos we're RARELY shown outside the sport, and objects were respected. I can't even jump the best objects near my hometown any more because of attitudes like the original post in this thread exibits. SO enjoy your dayglow rig, YouTube videos of your jumps, flashing your "BASE Jumper" card (or T-shirt) to girls at the local pub, and keep spanking your monkey at the exit point. As I said before. Who cares? (Not I, just in case you were not clear on that). ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I for the most part jump a stock lineset. I have played with an old lineset for fun, and George has offered to build me a cascaded set if I want but I'm not that interested. It's nice the way it is. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Proposal to ban booing at sports events (And not in California)
diablopilot replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
I think there is a huge difference between chearing in positive suport of a team, and booing the opposition. No offence intended to you, but Raiders fans suck. I've never been in more fear of bodily injury at an event than at a KC/Raiders game in the late 90's, and I've seen Fugazi live (from the pit). ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.
