As for the first mal, on what I would assume was a rig you rented, yeah, I think you were obligated to pay for the reserve ride, not so much because you packed it, but because you rented it. My guess (after talking to the head of the build crew) is that the only difference most flyers will notice is the size. 11ft by 9ft I believe, and it's a nice chamber! I'm imagining there will be more than enough power for the reduced volume of air. As a plus one of the best instructors I've had the pleasure of working with is going to be there. That is really not much different from flat flyers turning 180 from center when breaking off. Break off's in those situations are planed at apropriate altitudesfor that reason. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

With the appropriately sized round I'm sure you could land it safely on dry ground. The descent rate of the 22 ft I jumped was a bit too high for comfort. So you're going to say that because of lack of prior organization and planing and insufficient skill level, those low skill jumpers should be tasked with conducting an on heading full speed track barrel roll? Never said that, in fact I agreed with it. Suck is absolutly the wrong term to use when discussing then phenomina. Can you get sucked into a cloud from the side? The top? We are long past the time anyone should be doing these "zoo" dives. Plan the dive, and dive the plan. If you can't then the skill level for the dive is not high enough. No matter the "zoo-y-ness", size, or complexity of the dive, everyone on the dive should know where to go on break off. If a smaller dive, all jumpers should be able to account for the position of all others prior to break off, and on larger dives there should be a break off plan discussed prior to boarding the A/C. "Break at 5" is not good enough anymore. Barrel Rolls while tracking waste valuable altitude and separation. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.
