Nonsense. You're saying that a diving exit will have a pre-A-licence jumper in a position to pull in the same amount of time as a poised exit? I'll see your "nonsense" and raise you a "poppycock"! I'll chuck in a "you're ill informed". A diving exit is just as stable and for many students easier than a poised, while also being a faster exit, which IS the point of the simulated emergency exit/ ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Tandem Toggle Lock ... quasi-incident
diablopilot replied to MotherGoose's topic in Tandem Skydiving
What line type was on your canopy? I had a similar problem about 6 years ago on an Aerodyne A2 with Spectra line. The condition was possible because the thinner Spectra did not use up as much of the toggle stow loop as the thicker Dacron of the then Sigma canopies thus allowing the toggle to be "over stowed". Not an issue on the non brake stowed Icarus and Precision canopies. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
Tell UPT what size and type of main and reserve and let them pick the container size. This is the only sensible and safe way to go. The reason we've seen container locks and reserve mals in the last 10 years on small rig is people who exceed manufacture's recommendations on container canopy sizing. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Yes, clearly, but what I meant is a specific event, fatal or not But the problem is no situation is ever textbook, so one must always seek to prevent death by constantly being proactive, preventative, reactive, and observant. I have survived more than a few situations that were never specifically prepared for because they were never foreseen. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Paul, based on your ramblings here you and all of the rest of us would be on a watch list.... Cute. But I've never made a threat to anyone's life either in front of them or behind their back. Cute. You missed the point. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Socialised healthcare rocks, you Yanks should really try it.
diablopilot replied to Skyrad's topic in Speakers Corner
Yeah, it's great, that's why a whole private healthcare sector has grown up in the UK in the last 10 years. You know to handle all the frustrated overflow from a bogged down system that doesn't work anymore. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. But they went through a process to make sure it would work, not so with the drogues, right? Matt What would make you think Simon did not do any testing with his drogues? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Unnecessary cutaway. Very Dangerous and stupid

OH, you should have told us you have "Mad Skillz" in the first place. That makes everything different. Continue DIGIT. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
Unnecessary cutaway. Very Dangerous and stupid
diablopilot replied to pj_jumper's topic in Safety and Training
You should show a lot more experience before you set out what the examples should or shouldn't be. This jumper evaluated his canopy and found it was unable to pass a control check. The made a great decision. Could they have tried something else? Sure, however they followed a plan of action any student would follow. I would suggest they rose to the level of their training. Good for them. Rigging in midair is never a good idea. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
Why does customer service in skydiving suck?
diablopilot replied to Titanman2789's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Because you have all fucked it up and are expecting something to be a business that started out as a sport. Happy goldfish bowl. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -

You may be right, or may be an exception, I don't know, I've not met you, however the 3 people I've worked with who have come through that program have no business in the business of student operations. They are deficient in the areas of canopy skills, safety knowledge, and general situational awareness. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.
