Im without a doubt going. And if I die, it wont be because my instructor used me as a cushion like at skydance in 2002. I'm pretty sure you don't know any of the "facts" about that incident. The TI and student landed a spinning malfunction of the reserve. I what way do you read that as an "instructor using the student as a cushion"? Since you claim to be a novice, you have no idea the level of control, or lack of, tha a person has over a spinning malfunction Sounds more like you have an agenda, or bone to pick with SkyDance. Fuck off and do it elsewhere. Where are you deciding to jump then? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I didn't like the color of the airplane. Seriously, It wasn't me. Just canceled my night cross country for wind shear and clouds. Try again on Tuesday. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Quite possibly the one of the jumps I was most nervous about was a 2300 sq ft flag jump.

Bill Dause is under the chopping block!!

Unfortunately I don't think Bill gives a fuck, which is why more than a few people won't ride on the A/C when he's flying. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
Yes, and having some common sense helps greatly as well. I'm sorry sir, but I just don't see anywhere in the SIM where is says "Common Sense" is a requirement to skydive. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Probably a revisit to an old conversation but...

If the riser twisting method works for you then that's great. Once someone is off student status it's a great time for them to take a healthy interest in learning "better" ways to do things. While they are a student, they are overwhelmed, so the simplest methods, shown to work time after time are best. This is why we don't teach AFF students to land their mains on rear risers, or fly in a Mantis body position. The KISS theory works. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -

Oh, come on guys, this Walkmonauti thread is really funny, but what "somebody" did to Wikipedia is a bridge too far. Too true! ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

And it is only right that should you be requesting that information from the DZ, or here for that matter, you identify yourself as someone other than a reporter, lawyer, or pot stirrer. Good luck and I hope you have a good time on your jump.

Considering you've provided no information about yourself I'd be reluctant to answer your questions as well. I know the owner and DZ manager at SkyDance quite well, and they have nothing to hide. If you really are a potential student I'd advise you to contact them again, explain who you are and what your concerns are and I'll bet they would be happy to meet in person with you. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Cosmic noise you say?!?! How much money do I need to spend to protect myself from this? (pulls out wallet) Well I found the proper protection HERE for $1.49, but you'll have to do some folding. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I stand corrected It's the best because the cars were evenly matched. Found It... The best 10:36 you will ever spend Ronin Evenly matched!?!?!? LOL!!!!! The prop master jacked up that Mustang, changed rear gears, stiffened the suspension, better shocks, added bigger sway bars, tires & wheels, then added headers, intake, carb, & cam to the engine. During the initial runs chasing the BONE STOCK Chargers the Mustang couldn't keep up, so they swapped SMALLER tires on the Chargers in an attempt to slow them down. It didn't work. During filming, the 2nd unit director was yelling at the Charger driver to SLOW DOWN because it kept walking away from that poor Ford! BTW, despite the popular urban legend, the guy on the motorcycle that lays it down in the dirt wasn't someone that ran the road block. I think one of the reasons Bullitt turned out so well, in spite of the fact that they showed the same scenes multiple times from different angles & the Charger lost something like 14 hub caps, was the fact that most of the chase was filmed at real speed (though they did under-crank the film in a few parts). Another was the tight "point of view" cameras inside the cars. Watching it at the drive-in, in the early 70's, wrenching on my steering wheel during the chase, convinced my girl friend at the time I was crazy! Yea, Blues Brothers is another favorite. What a quotable movie that was! "It's 107 miles to Chicago. We have a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark & we're wearing sun glasses." "Hit it!!" Thank you noble sir.....long live the true champion and legend, king of the road, the 1960's Mopar Line. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.
