When you purchase a set of risers, is there a designated Right and Left riser or can you simply use the riser with the RSL ring on whichever side is necessary to accomodate your rig?

Is number 11 the Maltese Cross?

Won't work for me. I can't even read my altimeter without my glasses!

What size is your fraphat? Is it for sale?

Thanks everyone! All this info has been very interesting and helpful. I might take a look at some full faces to see if I can find something that might work. More input is welcome. Keep it coming!

I jump with eyeglasses. I currently use a pair of over-the-glass goggles and a protec helmet over those. I was wondering what type of setup other jumpers who wear eyeglasses use. I,m just wondering if there might be a little more comfortable way to do it. I've never worn a full face helmet but am wondering if that might be an option and not have to wear the bulky goggles. I don't know if a full face will fit over the eyeglasses or not. Any and all input will be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for your help. I will call them tomorrow.

Thanks for the link. I read the explanation but I still have a question. Would the +1 mean the container would be higher on my back or lower on my back? Also, would it put the chest strap higher or lower?
-
(Harness size: J4, C-18/+1) I know what the J4, C-18 means but could someone please explain to me what the +1 means?? Thanks very much.

That also makes sense. Thanks for the input. Now I just have to weigh it all out to try and come up with a procedure that I feel will be right for me. Again, thanks for the help.

Frap Hats More Dangerous Than Going Without A Helmet??
glgflyer replied to slotperfect's topic in Safety and Training
I have been wearing a protec helmet all my skydiving career because the consensus is they have the most protection. However, now that I have to wear eyeglasses under my goggles I am considering getting a frap hat simply for having better peripheral vision in the air. I know it isn't as much protection but having limited vision in the air isn't very satisfying either. Does anyone who wears eyeglasses under goggles have this issue also? Would love to hear your take on this issue. -
Frap Hats More Dangerous Than Going Without A Helmet??

I've always worn a protec. But now that I have to wear eyeglasses under my goggles I am considering a frap hat also for that same reason, peripheral vision in freefall. Does this help that a lot? -
Thanks for the suggestions. I have already heard enough to know that people do set their alarm altitudes up differently. I see that some set them 500 ft higher, some set them 500 ft lower and some set them at the altitudes. I still haven't decided what will be the best for me but I have decided one thing for sure. I will definitely be using all three alarms. Again, thanks for your suggestion.

Thanks! This is VERY valuable information. I will indeed use all 3 alarms now. This is exactly the info I was looking for. Thank you very much!

I have never used an audible altimeter, just my faithful altimaster galaxie. I recently acquired a Pro Dytter that came with a rig that I bought. I want to start using it as a backup. Even though you can set 3 altitude warnings, I only want to use 2 (breakoff altitude and pull altitude). Me and the guys I jump with usually decide on 5000 breakoff and pull at 3500. My question is should the audible be set on these exact altitudes or should it be set at 500 ft. lower than these altidtudes (4500 and 3000) so as to not get use to depending on the audible? Any and all advice would be appreciated.

Ok guys. Thanks for the help.

PD makes soft links for Reserves and soft links for mains. My question is: what is the difference? I know one is longer than the other, but why? The thing that led to this question is this. I was looking thru some of my old gear around the house and noticed that one of my old main canopies (not being jumped) has a set of PD SR-1 reserve soft links installed on it. I have no clue how or when it happened. Is it ok to jump this canopy with reserve links on it? Some insight on reserve and main slinks would be appreciated. Thanks.

NovaTT, Thanks kindly. You have been very helpful and I appreciate it. I have a 10" bridle extension. I'm assuming that pulling the fabric to the side is not necessary with the extension, right? Thanks again. -

Hi NovaTT, Thanks for the info. I have one other question. When you are finished flaking the canopy and are ready to pull the center of the tail up to the slider, do you fold the stabilizers back behind the steering lines just prior to pulling the tail up? I saw one guy at the DZ doing this and he said it just makes it a little harder for a line to migrate around in front of the nose by doing this. What is your opinion of this and do you think it is a step that is necessary? You sound very proficient to me and I am one who really does listen and learn from those who know more than I, which is most people. Thanks for your input. -

NovaTTT, When you say you dress the nose and close it up, I assume what you mean by "close it up" is criss-crossing the tail. That is what I do. My question is how can I be sure when I pull the corners of the tail across I am not pulling a line across with it and creating the possibility of a line-over? -

Hi riggerrob, In your opinion, is that way just as good as the normal psycho pack? I do the normal psycho pack and have always wondered why it had to be flipped before laying it down. Could you give me some some insight on this? Thanks. -

Are the openings the same as a normal psycho pack? -

With the lines still over your shoulder I'm assuming that you roll the tail to coccoon it and hold everything together, right? Sorry about being so persistent but I just want to make sure I totally understand.
