Which helmets, if any, have a built in place to mount a pro-track on the outside?
-
Oh, don't worry, I ALWAYS let my rigger check anything and everything I might change on my gear and I normally just get my rigger to make the changes himself. I was just interested in this particular subject because I didn't even realize soft links could be used for this application and it will be a couple of weeks before I get back to the dropzone and see my rigger. I was just asking the questions because I like to learn EVERYTHING I can in this sport. I really appreciate your concerns and the information supplied by you and Mike on this subject. Thanks.
-
Let me make sure I understand. You go through everything twice before securing the slink. It's the same installation technique as you use when attaching suspension lines to the harness, right?
-
To riggerpaul and Mike. Thanks guys.

Does it matter which size slink (main or reserve) to use for this procedure, or does that simply depend on the size of the grommet in your d-bag?

That's what I thought. Thanks a million Brian. Merry Christmas!

I got a new pro-track for Christmas. I set my jump numbers and freefall time to my current numbers. However, the jump numbers and ff time doesn't show up on the main page. It still shows the jump numbers and FF time as 0. After I make the first jump with my pro-track, will it then show the correct numbers? Please help. Thanks.

Mark Lancaster (better known as Mel) would be the man. He owns Skyworks Parachute Services in Buffalo, South Carolina. Here is the website and phone number. www.skyworksrigging.com (864) 429-8428

Thanks for the info, guys. These are great ideas!

Does anyone have any ideas of how to mount an Optima audible inside a Protec helmet? I currently use a Pro Dytter and it is large enough to wedge snugly inside the padding. However, I just bought an Optima and it is much smaller than the Pro Dytter and will not stay in without some type of mounting. So, if there is anyone who uses an Optima with a Protec, I would really appreciate some ideas? Thanks.

OK guys, thanks for the information! That's exactly what I needed to know.

Should L & B products be sent to Denmark for service or do they have a US service center?

I would highly reccommend you try "The Jumping Place" in St. Marys , Ga. It's only about 30 minutes from Jacksonville. They just got a new PAC 750 this past weekend. The website is: www.thejumpingplace.com

OK, thanks.

Sorry, this has nothing to do with skydiving, but how in the hell do you use the [In Reply To] feature in the forums??? I understand how to use the Reply and Quote, but I just can't figure out how you guys are using the [In Reply To] feature. Thanks a bunch!!!

Sorry, this has nothing to do with the thread, but how in the hell do you use this [In Reply To] feature?? I can't figure it out for the hell of me! Sorry for being so ignorant but if you don't know something I guess you have to ask. Thanks

[Looks unbelievably pointless and overpriced to me.] I second that!

Here is the Altitron I am talking about.
-
Yes, the new style is what I'm looking at. I wouldn't even consider the old one. As for the batteries, it uses standard AAA batteries (according to the info I read). So, if anyone has this NEW Altitron digital readout altimeter, I would love to hear the pros and cons of it.
-
I have always used a standard analogue altimeter only. However, I do have some interest in a digital to wear along with my analogue. But since I wear eyeglasses, all the digitals I have looked at either have readouts that are too small or the contrast is so that I can hardly make out the numbers. That is until I saw the picture of this Altitron digital made by Parasport. From the picture it appears to have a VERY large and easy to read display. If anyone who has experience with this altimeter could give me some feedback on the quality and if it is in fact as easy to read as the photos show, I would really appreciate it very much.

Captain1976, You have jumped both the Triathlon and the Spectre. How do these 2 canopies compare and in your opinion, which is the better canopy? Are glide ratios about the same? I am considering one of these and haven't jumped either.
-
Thanks NiteQwill. Maybe Sergio will chime in here and give me some info about his experiences with the pack volume of ZPX and whether he thinks the 168 will fit in my J3 safely.
-
I would tell the dealer to let me have a Storm Demo for you to try out, then you can make your own decision. You already know you like the Triathlon but you don't know about the Storm. You are spending a lot of money on a canopy so be sure you get what you want. Advice from people on here who have jumped them both is a good thing, but still not as good as jumping it yourself. Good luck with your new canopy.

I called Sunpath to ask this question but they are closed today. I will call them next week but I thought someone here might have this scenario so I will ask. I have a Jav J3 with a pilot 168 (regular ZP) in it. The J3 is built to hold 150-170 main. I am considering buying a new pilot 168 ZPX. I understand this material packs up much smaller than the regular ZP material. My question is: Will a pilot 168 ZPX safely fit into my J3 or will the pack volume be too small? Any responses will be much appreciated.

Thanks to you guys for the information. This gives me an idea of what to offer. Again, many thanks.
