Hellis replied to iluvtofly's topic in The Bonfire

How much does those mPods cost? And can you overtuff one of those bags? I have a 170 in a 150 rig at the moment, is that possible? Since the closingpart is magnetic that might be a problem?

You forgot about all the spandex! Suits that are so tight its like beeing naked. And some men even have Stilettos

Drift Innovation HD170 - New Competitor to the GoPro
Hellis replied to aardvarkeater's topic in Photography and Video
Anyone that has a file that can be uploaded on a server? I really dont want to base my opinion on a camera by looking at a flashvideo on youtube or vimeo. -
d) Seatbelts stretch ~50% when they are used. I dont think there will be enough force to make it stretch but, it can

Drift Innovation HD170 - New Competitor to the GoPro
Hellis replied to aardvarkeater's topic in Photography and Video
Do you have a server or something that you could upload a real file. Youtube, Vimeo and the other flashvideosites usually destroy alot of the videos -
Since humans can move around in the air, you might want to change it to plot a 'thing' instead of a jumper? And, gravity is not 32.2 m/s^2 Either 9.81 m/s^2 or 32.2 feet/s^2 Or is this the 420 pound male project?

I think its unfair to blame the cameras. If you would attach a Sony as poorly as most people attach their minicameras they would fall too. You dont blame PD for a cutaway main do you?

Im not sure if this is correct but my protrack shows me 106.45 kmph (66.15 mph) as my slowest in a track. Could it be true or is it more likely to be a missread of the protrack?

So you think the packers bodyposition on your deployment could make it unreliable. Or how the packer takes care of their pullup cords. I dont think i have heard that one before.

Earplugs? Personal preference or a real reason?
Hellis replied to 3mpire's topic in Safety and Training
I use these: http://www.surefire.com/EP3-Sonic-Defenders They are supposed to block the noise thats above 85 db and let other trough. I dont agree that its some kind of wonder earplug but i can have them in and still talk to people. But once in freefall they block enough. Also i can have them in the ear, but pulled out enough to let all sound pass. -
I would agree with MOST folkts then. I dont video much on my belly, but i usually move my camera so its straight when videoing on my belly. When i do freefly i move it forward so its more aimed down. CRW i move it back to get a more up angle.

Holy poop tracking can take you far!
Hellis replied to shah269's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
If you go to http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/map_input and in the form on the right where it says 'or paste your data here:' Copy paste the GPSdata from the file below. Thats a 3084 m track ~1:1 glideratio on average You can find even better people on http://www.trackingderby.com -
I dont think its when you uploaded it. If the sourcefile is 1080, youtube will make it 1080. Are you sure the file you renderd is 1080?
-
I have a viso aswell. it logged some of the jumps but it has other problems. It has a few times turned off during the jump (while im under canopy on the CRW-jumps). So i notice its off, and i just think "ohh thats odd". Check for traffic and look at it again and its on. No real problem, but just odd. I just want the Protrack to logg the jump so i wont have to do all the extra work. Now that i think about all the extra work. Anyone that has added a jump to Jumptrack? When you had to recalculate the freefalltime, did it add up correct? I have a feeling it adds seconds every time i add a new jump manually. I cant see where it adds them but my loggbook and Jumptrack does not show the same.
-
Why do you record/render in 480? You have a 1080p camera and you only use 480p? Two of my more serious videos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXoOD8dQZrQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwmNrvP7asw Even if youtube has the best flashvideo quality its not even close to the real video.

Neptunes loggs even if stay in the plane. So 5 seconds is the limit on Protrack? One of the jumps where i had a extra long delay on my videojumps the slider starts coming down at 8 seconds and the jump was not logged
-
I did actually have a gps on my helmet for a few of the camerajumps. But it wont help me to get the data to Protrack or Jumptrack
-
I have searched and it seems it wont work. Can i get the protrack to log CRW-jumps? I tried to set it to student and give it some more delay while i used my Spectre and only doing video of CRW. But now that i tried a Lightning i know i dont want a longer delay. It so much work having to add the jumps manually in both the Protrack and the Jumptrack. Is there a setting that reacts to even shorter delays?

Good camera. The mount you get with the camera is not recomended. IMHO you should either use the 720p mode or 1080p with a wideangle lens. 1080 without wideangle is not enough. Its not as good as the GoPro when it comes to windnoise, but who uses the audio from a jump anyway? The aiminglasers are very handy. As DSE says there are a few threads about it in the past. Is it anything special you want to know about the camera?
