Now let's wait for the respons: "1971 from a Boeing 727 with $200.000 in a bag"

In a few years, HD will be dead. File sizes won't shift by much. 4K h.265 isn't much larger than 1080p h.264. The speed of output is likely the reason for the faster cards, and by requesting class 10 cards, it also reduces the fairly high risk of faulty/counterfeit cards/failed jumps. Are you sure about that? Last weekend I made some jumps with my Black, and the ~5 min videos was the same size as my ~12-13 min files I get from my old Contour 1080. The Contur shoots 1080 @30 and the black @60, I know thats a big difference. But the rules say "minumum of 25 fps" so the cameraman can use 60, or 120 when that's avalible.

It does if you trim of some of the sides. "The only" snag hazard is the WIFI-button

Something odd happend to me regarding date and time. I set time and date when I got it, and used it a bit during the winter. Now that the skydivingseason is on again, the date is three days behind. The time is correct, only the date. Make it a habbit of cheking date and time each day

If you want to learn how to track properly, start naked When you reinforce the proper body position and such, additional suits will only help improve your track. Disagree. Different suits need a different trackposition. If I track the same way with my tracksuit as my RW-suit I'm not going very far. There is no "perfect" bodyposition for any suit or person
-
Not much that was correct then....

Rightclick on the track, properties. I'm not sure where, but lineoptions (color, width, etc.) there should be the option extrude line.

'Odds are' it'll tear off and everything will be rosey... Then again, if it takes a heartbeat to tear off and the risers are released enough to pull the RSL you're firing a reserve into that mess... A stretch maybe...but the system wasn't designed to have a 3rd attachment point. It wasn't TSO'd with a knob attached to a reserve flap. Since there are ways of 'stowing' the slider that don't require attaching it to the HC...why not go with that? Good Lord, you guys. It's f*ckin' velcro an inch and a half square. It releases VERY easily. Hell, the RSL requires more force to pull a reserve pin after a cutaway than the velcro does to release. Actually, most RSLs are velcroed to the rig. So if one would be concerned with velcro not releasing they should disconnect the RSL IMO. I use the magnetic version, and I know for sure it let's go. Not because I have cut away, but since it sometimes "drops" my slider

Yes I think that is the reason too. But again, in a few years the files might be larger even in 1080 resolution. I still find it odd that they would remove one issue and replace it with another. If it's the waittime that is the issue, you could have a batchfile that runs automatic when you insert the card in a reader, this batchfile copies the latest file. Having 4 cardreader conne cted to this computer will solve the issue much better in my opinion.

Why do they define what class the memory card has to have? Isn't that like fixing one problem but replacing it with another? In 5 years the definition for memoryspeed might not be class anymore. Why even specify it at all? If the memorycard is fast enough to record 1080 @ 25 fps, it's also fast enough to read the data. All memorycards (that I know of) has a higher read than writespeed.

I have a Benny Half helmet and I made a pocket for my ProTrack in cordura that closes with velcro. It attaches to the helmet with velcro at the same places the inner liner/foam attaches. So it has both male and female velcro on opposite sides. As long as the foam is still inside the helmet my ProTrack is safe. I think you could do the same on the ProTec helmet, it also has velcroattachments for the foam?

Seems like no one is excited about this. It has the 4th beep in freefall but it also has beeping between the 3rd & 4th beeps which you can hear while you are tracking away so you know you din't miss the 4th beep... ehh... so it makes it less likely you miss the 4th beep. I can see why you would not want to upgrade from a Optima II but if you are going to buying your first altimeter, why not buy the Quattro (aside from the fact that it apparently is not being sold yet) ? Sounds like a good product from a solid company. I'd say a visual altimeter is better as the first altimeter.

Even in the shear direction? We hear repeatedly about people having a hard pull on their cutaway if they don't peel before punching, it seems intuitive to me that the same issue would occur with a velcro slider keeper. Magnets on the other hand are weaker in the shear direction. I am not saying you're wrong, just that it goes against what I know about the properties of the two systems. But you'r stowing a slider not a line. If you stowed a line the force would be shear, but when you place a slider in there it will be large enough to peel the velcro.

New firmware update for the black due on the 2nd april
Hellis replied to spencer's topic in Photography and Video
Anyone know what the changes are? Mine is working, and I'm not sure I want to upgrade and risk me geting the same problems you guys have. -
Fixed it now. New update avalible
-
There can be a problem with the new version and Excel 2010. I'm at work now and can't fix it. It worked on 2007,and I assumed it would on 2010. But maybe not. So wait with the update

I don't know about you, but I would rather not have my phone in my hand while flying my canopy. For three obvious reasons. 1. Distraction from what you are actually doing. 2. I could easily drop my phone 3. In case I do dropy my phone, it's a heavy object falling in a high speed that can do serious damage if it hits something/someone. I have updated the Macro now to better work with canopydata. In the extended data tab there is a new setting called "Canopy glideratio "limit"". I couldn't find a better name for it. But this setting will be the max glideratio value you send to the KML-file/Google Earth. The reason you need this setting is because when you land your canopy a smal headmovement will will give you good vertical/horizontal speed -> and that gives a hugh spike in glideratio. So when you land you can easily find glideratios of 50-200, and they will mess with the chart. So instead of the chart having a max value of 200 and your data barely showing up, you can set the max value and get a better chart. I believe I have 7 as defalut, and thats rather high. Normally my glideratio is between 0-3 without trying to get a good glide. When your verticalspeed is 0, glide will have the value #DIV/0!. But in those cases the macro will replace that with your limit value. Also the new version will no longer make you redo all settings when I update to a new version. It will only ask you to check the settings, but your old settings are keept.

Yes, and maybe. It all depends on how accurate you need the data to be. And what data do you need to be accurate. Height data is very hard for a GPS to read accurately, +- 2 m is not uncommon.

Made a video to make it easier to understand how to install and use the macro. http://youtu.be/HyLPIR-H_aI
-
How do you know it's broken if you havn't found it
-
But don't you have the data from the card? It has a microSD card built in, so if the device is broken you can probably get the data from the card

Made some updates to the xlam. If you are using the previous version you should get a message there is a new version avalible when you run the macro. Just click yes to download the file and save it in a folder that is easy to find (desktop). When this is done Excel will open the folder to where your current Flysight is.xlam is. Close Excel And then move the new updated Flysight.xlam to the add-ins folder. That should be it. From now on the new versions will be autoupdated, meaning you only need to click on yes to update and it will do the rest. Also the new file has a autoinstall feature. So If no older version of Flysight is installed (new users). You can just doubleclick on the xlam-file and "enable macros" and it will install itself. It will make a copy of itself so the file you downloaded can be deleted. As always, tell me if you find a issue. And I know about the Excel 2000 bug. I'm working on it

I can't answer for sure. But I would be pissed if it messes with my data. There is no reason to "fake data" in my opinion
-
I hate it when that happens! I'm still in freefall, and my canopy is ~40 m below me [inline Canopy.jpg] Very impressive! But the cursor seems to dissapear every now and then. Win & IE 9

A new file has been uploaded with the "correct" versionnumber in the code. So if anyone has any problems from now on please let me know.
