One reason why moderates fear the neo-cons

Actually, the marriage is already completely legal. Some places in the country are performing marriages in apparent conflict with their state's "Defense of Marriage" legislation, but Oregon has no such law. This is a done deal. Unless of course the state sometime decides to reverse itself and dissolve our marriage... but that seems extraordinarily unlikely. And cruel besides. Well, 8 months later, the unlikely and cruel thing will happen today. My husband and I are going to be involuntarily divorced. Two people who love each other and have stood by each other for 6 years are going to be told, "Not good enough." Rereading this thread made me remember how nice it was to be given a surprise cake at a favorite local shop, to have a stranger sing an a capella love song just for us, to have our friends and family come to our party, and even to have such nice things said to us here on dropzone.com. So looking back at how nice it was, I wanted to thank you all again for being so kind. Thanks. First Class Citizen Twice Over

Bin Laden to attack any state that votes for Bush.....

Do you really believe your own rhetoric or is it all part of your job? First Class Citizen Twice Over -
It's revealing that it seems that way to you. First Class Citizen Twice Over

I hope the popular count and the electoral count are split again. Even better will be if there are legal shenanigans that create uncertainty. Even more hopeful to me is that whatever crooked things both sides are certainly doing to predispose the outcome will become a major scandal. The very best outcome is that in addition to all of that, Bush would win the popular vote and Kerry the electoral count. Why? Not because I care which of these two creeps acts as president. I don't believe it much matters in the end. This outcome would be the best possible because it would give both the democrats and republicans an historic opportunity to once again spontaneously reverse their long-held principles. I have no doubt that would occur. I also have no doubt that the unusually intense scrutiny and interest in this election will make it more obvious than ever before that both sides are truly evil. Anything that sheds light on that is good for the future. Anything that reduces Americans' trust in this crooked system is good. In crisis, we see the parties' true conniving character and I'm hopeful there are still some honorable people left to see it. First Class Citizen Twice Over

There's no problem here. This was a private event for the RNC. They can keep whatever offensive messages they want out of their rally. Clearly they believe "Protect our Civil Liberties" is offensive. Their position is well known. Make of that what you will -- and if you're one of the vile freaks who believe in civil liberties, then find someone who agrees with you to vote for. If you can find one. First Class Citizen Twice Over

Too much commitment is required just to find out what the subject of this post is. First Class Citizen Twice Over

And I get wry amusement out of the moronic brainwashing both sides revel in. Unfortunately I can't say I enjoy it as you all seem committed to destroying a pretty good planet, but at least it's interesting to watch. First Class Citizen Twice Over

Nobody visited us. We were too busy having sex on our first date. (It's been a six-year long date so far!) Was someone expected? First Class Citizen Twice Over

There's no way that could happen. First Class Citizen Twice Over

That would truly be funny enough to make all of this nonsense seem worthwhile. First Class Citizen Twice Over

Again, for the Christians among us, that's called idolatry. It's a sin. First Class Citizen Twice Over

Sometimes the symbol supercedes what it symbolizes. I believe we call that "idolatry". First Class Citizen Twice Over

Imagine if (or is it "when"?) Treejumps and his crew work to pass a constitutional amendment to the effect that "Marriage in the United States shall consist only of the union of a virgin man and a virgin woman." Imagine (if you can) that it somehow gains broad support. And that your marriage is about to become invalidated by the sheeply masses. Just hold that image in your head for a minute. That's all I ask. First Class Citizen Twice Over

And after 24 hours I think we can see this is another of Treejumps' favorite techniques: Make a wild unsubstantiated claim then ignore the request for evidence. But I'm used to it. I think they teach this trick in anti-gay bigotry classes. First Class Citizen Twice Over

Emmanuel Goldstein will never be caught. He's far more valuable as a bogeyman than dead. In fact, it's not even necessary that he ever existed. That makes it easier to keep him alive forever. First Class Citizen Twice Over

Apparently they CAN have it both ways. They use their family members for political gain then bitch at the opponents when it occurs to them to do so. And look at all the sheep. They say Baaaah! Baaah! Just like they're supposed to! First Class Citizen Twice Over

Oh, the irony in that statement... No irony. The definition of "your type" in that sentence is "people who announce bullshit stereotypes". It's no more stereotyping than saying "all tall people are tall". First Class Citizen Twice Over

Please find an example of me using the misdirecting technique I explained. I don't believe I do that (I would consider it dishonorable) but I'd love to have you show me if I have. Edited to add: On second reading I see that I missed an important point: You didn't "misquote" me. You blatantly fabricated a falsified quote not a single word of which was mine. Or is this an example of how you feel facts are open for interpretation? That's like dreaming about someone then blaming them for what happened in the dream. But then again, maybe that logic makes sense to you. Again, please find an example. Most of the facts I've argued recently have been complete nonsense about gay people written by you and other people who don't have any idea what they're talking about. Usually you and your type ignorantly announce a bullshit stereotype but won't back it up when you're challenged by knowledgable people. And most non-jumpers disagree with the facts of skydiving and base jumping. The significant majority of the country know that parachutes are all round, humans can't breath in freefall, that we go back UP when the parachute opens, and that the landing is like jumping off a one story building. Does that make it true? No. Factual matters are not subject to "interpretation". You're confusing facts with opinions. Think more carefully, please. First Class Citizen Twice Over

As has been pointed out by SEVERAL people, Cheney talked openly about it in the VP debate. It's already in the debate realm. IT'S ALREADY IN THE DEBATE REALM. Cheney himself brought it to the debate realm. He didn't object -- in fact he participated and THANKED his opponent for it. It's already in the debate realm. Oh wait. Everyone's already forgotten that. Seven days is about the length of the American memory. I forgot (hee hee). First Class Citizen Twice Over
