    If kids in general couldn't be stopped from breaking into their parents' cars to take them for drives, it might be a good idea to do exactly this. Either that or don't have kids. It's better to bend to the inevitable than to break your head against it. Luckily kids mostly don't break into cars, but they mostly DO have sex. And by and large they're not going to stop. So getting used to that and addressing it so the consequences of the nearly-inevitable aren't life-destroying sounds like a pretty good idea to me. First Class Citizen Twice Over

    Hey, I find what you said funny too so it's even. This is basically true but unfortunately you don't understand the ramifications. Businesses do pass on their costs but only to the extent they can. Businesses don't have the unilateral power to set prices -- it's a negotiation between them and the customer. Well, by your logic it's certainly not the employee either. Employees pass on taxes as a cost of doing business (i.e., the business of being employees) to the customer (i.e., their employer). Without income taxes, employees would overall negotiate lower salaries just as without business taxes manufacturers would negotiate lower prices. This however is true. Reducing any particular amount of government spending is a temporary fix though. The real solution is to reduce government power to spend. But someone tried that once with a defunct little document called The Constitution, so maybe even this approach isn't all it's cracked up to be. First Class Citizen Twice Over

    I live in Vancouver's chinatown and have a favorite tea shop. I was in there today picking up a 1/2 pound of aged pu ehr and some matcha. The nice chinese lady who runs the shop was excited by a delicate new iron buddha she wanted me to try. So I sat down to be served tea. It wasn't a full-on chinese tea ceremony of course, but I was served tiny yixing tasting cups of tea made properly. Wash, pour, wash, pour, steep, serve, rinse, wash, pour, steep, serve... noticing the tea change with each steep, enjoying the delicacy, appreciating the skill, relaxing, chatting about chinese new year this sunday ... A nice way to spend my lunch hour
