Inspired by true events this evening, what do you use to cut pizza? "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

Why does customer service in skydiving suck?
theonlyski replied to Titanman2789's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I try to buy as much as I can from Mike. My Vigil2, Optimum, Safire2, camera helmet + mounts, gear bag and a ton of little things. Only dealer I know that responds to emails in the middle of the night. -
No one wants to Date me so im not bizzie [ b]... Just busy with other thing. Oh, masturbation. "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

Should have a sticker on it that says the year, worst case, call Airtec with the SN and ask them. I don't remember if the C1's show service due date on start up or not. It wouldn't be unreasonable to figure out how to carve space for some go-pro HD cameras inside something like maybe a FTP, I just don't see it happening. The quality wouldn't be the same as the CX and DSLR, though the go-pro's are getting pretty good these days, I still don't see myself replacing my gear for them. Unnecessary cutaway. Very Dangerous and stupid

The landing was sporty. As I said, the heavy breathing was to calm me down after the jump (keep my fine motor controls) and keep the helmet from fogging up. My point was, you never know when 'those conditions' may pop up and bite you in the ass. If you're already barely edging on your comfort level with your good landing area, perhaps you should make yourself more comfortable before you change your wing. If done properly, patches shouldn't have any effect on a parachutes performance. I'll let Paul talk about the resale value. "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

IIRC the Vector tandem rig manual has a pretty good description. Hmmm, I just looked at the Vector 2 Tandem Owners Manua;, 2003, p. 29, where packing the main is described and no mention is made of using a rubber band for the slider. Which Vector Tandem Manual do you have? Oops, apparently I don't RC! I'll look for where I saw it unless someone beats me to it. He = me. Yes I picked it, was the most reasonable lz. The point is, can you do that? Would you even try on your canopy? "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message -

And? This is the original factory mod to the suit, and how the handles worked in that mod. Perhaps doing away with access altogether is the thought in the instance shown in the OP's question. Just curious, not a wingsuiter or anything. How hard would it be to get to the handles under the zippers (unzip the wing)? What effect would this have on the wing in flight? Icarus recommends the Vectran lines, that's what my Safire2 169 has. Pretty simple to tell the difference in newer canopies, spectra is white, vectran is yellowish. Swapping a main canopy isn't difficult, but I highly suggest you have a rigger look over your shoulder the first couple times. I've seen FAR too many mains hooked up wrong in ways that could seriously ruin your day by people that didn't understand fully what they were doing. are reserve toggles sewn to the risers?

nu uh! As for your argument, it only takes once for that main to not open properly and it could very likely be a death sentence. "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

Yup, I was low, adrenaline was flowing, had to do the heavy breathing (you can hear it at the end of the video) to keep my helmet from fogging up (in thru nose, out thru mouth port). Roads had power lines both sides and crossing them, there was one other lane I could've taken off to the right along the fence lines, but I saw a power line pole right in the middle of it so I decided not to. I could've downsized more by now but I know for a fact I can do this on my canopy (Safire2 169 @ 1.2), that's enough for me. Try pulling backwards instead of straight down. Peel the velcro, not sheer it. "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message -

How many engine out's did you have without a good runway to aim for? We don't have the luxury of being able to go around if our approach isn't good enough this time. Sometimes you even end up trying to figure out where the hell you are. I won't go into the details of this clip, but can you honestly say you could do the same/better? Downwind none the less? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqoxnwxF3CA Yes I know, spot sucked, pulled low, blah blah, again the reasons behind the off landing are nobody here's business. Still should be replaced. IMO using seal thread to tack the toggles to the risers because the velcro is worn out is shotty rigging. Furthermore I'd be shocked if a 1-2 pass of seal thread would make it that hard of a pull to unstow, makes me wonder what they tacked it with? I've seen at least a couple Strong Dual Hawks that had the reserve toggles on one side misstowed and it would make for a very hard pull. theonlyski replied to virgin-burner's topic in Gear and Rigging
Nope, not on most sport rigs, but some riggers out there may put a pass of seal thread (~4.75lb break) thru the toggle and riser. It's pretty common on bailout rigs and older rigs though. (lots with rounds as reserves) interesting, thanks. that would be to avoid a toggle-fire then, right!? Not necessarily, your V3 should have nice strong velcro on the risers/toggles still. If it's getting worn out to the point you're risking a fire, it should be replaced before it get's repacked.
