It wouldn't be terribly out of the question to run off site backups. There are some cloud based services that do a pretty decent job of it, but it costs $$ for that feature. I have my server running at the house and have a weekly script running on the DZ server to backup everything from the manifest program to my server. Wouldn't be crazy to have something similar set up for home users. It could be a mutual agreement with another party (preferably someone who doesn't or wont start hating you in the future). Just as an FYI for anyone reading. Digitizing them is a GREAT idea, but keep a couple copies (preferably an external hard drive located at someone's house). I've seen FAR too many people put all their eggs in one basket that then goes away due to corruption of a computer, failed hardware or just getting stolen. I downloaded it just after it came out (as an update to Win8) and don't have any issues. I found a program to give me my start menu back (costs $5, well worth it to me). There's a pretty good chance that it's not actually on COM2. Try selecting the other COM ports with it plugged in. If it doesn't show up, you may need to download/install the Neptune USB drivers. A student pilot certificate holder does not require a medical, a student only needs the medical to solo. Unless it's a balloon, glider or LSA category airplane. you can solo a glider with a denied medical Which means they have no medical, right? I believe it's the same for the balloon. Gliders and balloons aren't subject to the medical requirements. I get the feeling you just HAVE to have the last word, so knock yourself out.
