  1. No this was not the first incident, but this incident was what prompted the banning. There is a service bulliten to replace cutters manufactured prior to a specific date that encompases those prior incidents. Just like the SB that says certian rigs that put the cutter in different positions on the loop, need to meet different standards/DOM's? Sounds sketchy to me. 3. I own an Argus, and had to pull it from my rig because it was banned, so I know what it feels like to have to sit here and wait. With that said, this wasn't the first instance of the cutter not fully or completely cutting both sides of the loop. You make it sound like it was an isolated incident that ONE time a cutter gets jammed and container mfgrs are all over it. The truth is, this shit has happened before, just this time, they found a possible cause other than the cutter just failing to fully cut the loop. What about the other incidents where the loop got jammed on one side, and they DIDN'T find FOD (atleast that was reported) in the blade/anvil? I'm pissed off too, I have a paperweight as it stands right now, but you're trying to blame it all on one incident, not the previous ones. Say a wing falls off a few planes (lets call them killer 100's), the NTSB finds that it was possibly a defect in design. Now say a wing falls off on another one (same model), and the NTSB has concluded that it was missing some attachment hardware or was not properly seated/tightened. Does that one incident mean that just because it was not the airframe THAT time, that it is a safe frame? No. "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message
  4. +1 However I hear down here at Z-Hills, they have some gutter gear laying out by the swoop pond, you put it on and jump in the pond, so there's no need to rent a pool. 6. Everyone has different likes. I'm selling my Sabre2 now, and have a Safire2 that I bought to replace it... why? Its got nicer openings. If I could have the Safire2 opening and the Sabre2 landing, I would buy it no matter WHAT the logo on the end cells says! 10. If nobody out there answers you by the time I get home, I'll figure out what program I have on my computer for it. It was cheap enough and never had problems with it. Are you trying to make it read the floppy drive? Does it HAVE to be a floppy drive? There are ways around that, even sometimes you can get away with using a modified (software/firmware) USB drive. 12. Keep in mind, you don't NEED to go to a course. Many riggers (myself included) worked with riggers over a longer period of time than a course would cover, generally a bit cheaper, and you're not worn out every day from trying to get your 20 I&R's in a week, while learning everything else you need to know. As far as testing, Jerry lives not too far from you, I drove up there to get tested by him. Pretty straightforward process, and I'd recommend him to anyone needing to test or learn how to rig. If you still want to go the riggers course, there are a few around the country, cost is usually upwards of about 2k, which may or may not cover testing. Here is some more info Good luck! 17. I have another cutter here, and it's stamped : 092666 118A/08 MAR 2008 so my guess is that 092666 is a PART NUMBER, and not a SN +1 Mine has the same part number on it. 20. Theory: They wanted footage of her sitting near the open door by herself, before she was hooked up to the tandem master. So she needed her own rig for safety in case she fell out. And then once that task was done and the door closed, they removed the student rig and hooked her up to the tandem master for her jump. That is not a student rig. There are no 3 rings. It is a pilot rig. The one she wore in the show most definatly was a Wings skydiving rig, the one in the picture posted above was a different show, where she was wearing a PEP "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

  23. So, just out of curiosity, why is she wearing what looks like a student rig, over the tandem harness? "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message
