  1. While people will argue this till they're blue in the face, I am more worried that you said this info came from a DZO, who also didn't comply with the Mirage SB changing the cutter location. I wouldn't put my seal on a rig that's not up to date with the SB's for it, no idea why anyone would! 2. I'll try to remember to wear a go pro and look up.... it's my canopy he's packing with flour..... lucky me, right? I could probably collapse the slider and it'll still open better than that piece of shit laying on my floor. 6. I'm sitting here wondering how much flour I can pack into a slider on a 169ft² and still fit into the bag. Rig tampering is a crime. Don't do it. I saw a guy have a hard opening from the flour trick. It's not funny. The flour strikes again! http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4101622;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message
  7. (Not directed at skydived19006) When was the last time ya heard of a round with the anti-inversion netting have a malfunction? When was the last time you heard of a square having a malfunction? 11. Relax everyone. Cypres knows about the problem and its not because some rammy gear wrecking rigger was smashing an aad unit against a wall. (I find it funny how we automatically take a shot at bad rigging or the last rigger when shit breaks or goes wrong) Heres a picture of one I sent to get fixed not too long ago. They were surprised to see this one come out of a Jav as units with simmilar problems came out of rigs with the cutter in the flaps. I will not join in on the political debate by saying BAN CYPRES !!!!! I wasn't trying to take a shot at the last rigger, just seeing if there is a connection and possibly see what the reason they broke is, based on that riggers technique. 14. I really need to write this shit down, I did test that on a Cypres2 as well as an Argus (live units, not demo's) but I can't remember what the outcome was. 18. I think important information that you have would be the reserve and container sizing parameters from both rigs. . +1 Also, was it the same rigger that packed them last? 19. You pays your money, you takes your chances. You bought an Argus, an 'underdog' of sorts in the AAD world. If you want the reputation, get a Cypres. 20. Cool, good to know. It sure would be nice if we could convert it to flash drive, though.
  21. Its been several months since I packed a Mirage container, I don't remember the angle of the cutter being all that bad in relation to the wire direction, is there any way you can think of that the rig could've been abused and caused a stress point? IIRC the cutter is on the bottom (number 3 flap I believe) so I could see how its possible, but it would have to take some serious rough housing with that rig to make it happen. How much slack was in the cutter wire coming from the AAD pocket? 22. We as riggers, must play nice with the mfgrs rules of the gear, or we're breaking the law. As for letting the local riggers try to agree on the best position on the cutter head, good luck with that, but even if every rigger in the country outside of a mfgr agreed on one way, its up to the mfgr, not the local rigger. 23. I know when I write software, I generally like to hard code the letters, cause its directed at the client machine specifically. Sometimes I'll make it in an .ini that the user can change, but I generally don't like to do that much. Gotta remember though, plugging in another device, probably gets it a new drive letter. Especially if the old one is still in/active. To the OP: Wish I could help you out with this one, we only have 2 testing devices that use floppies, and we never touch them. 24. The firmware on the machine might not enable it to search for the software on the USB bus, it might not have a USB controller/connections, or maybe he doesn't want to lug around another piece of equiptment. When programming software for a piece of equiptment, its not always in the back of the engineers head to make the system updateable or work in ways other than designed.
