  1. Zoooooooooooooom... Sorry, man. That's one of the drawbacks to this form of communication. Chuck
  2. Damned good point! Then too, those six officers ALL had weapons drawn and a bead on the guy and fingers on the trigger. Just to play 'devil's advocate', could it be possible, the officer who fired first, did not intend to shoot? With adrenalin racing... shit happens. The other officers heard that first shot and all hell broke loose. Not much of a defense, just an 'OH SHIT moment. I'd sure like to hear the rusults of the inquiry! Chuck
  3. then this would be a thread about how tasers are only "less than lethal" and not perfectly safe. "why did he have to be tased? he was still several feet from any officer and all he had was a knife?" 'All he had was a knife!' As you well know, knives can be used to kill people, not just guns. The police needed to gain control of the situation. By using a taser, the police could've gained control of the guy and his knife, without bloodshed. Instead, one of the cops chose to fire. Which set-off a chain reaction of gunfire by the other officers. Bottom line, the situation, in my opinion, was totally mis-handled. Don't under-estimate the damage a knife can do in the wrong hands. 4. Thanks! As will her big brother, I currently have a Male Siberian
  5. Good lookin' puppy! Siberians are good-good dogs. You're going to enjoy that little girl. Chuck
  6. She's not the first Amish person I've heard of in Rodeo. There's a member of the PBR who is Amish. I don't know why not... it's good, American activity. God luck to her. Chuck
  7. In this case, I think, a taser would' have been a good first choice. This was a case of 'chain reaction'. One officer took the first shot and 5 others responded in kind. Chuck
  8. What do think President Obama's motivation would be to destroy this country? I'm asking a serious question. Do you really think he ran for President with the hidden motive to destroy the United States? How did he hide his motives from his staff and all the people who helped get him elected? Or are they in on it too? Just thinking over his time in office and the national debt., the recession, things like that. Maybe 'destroy' was a a litle harsh but good Lord. I'm not saying anymore... I'll hold my tongue. Chuck
  9. We've got a well known oilman/rancher here in Texas, said the same thing. Only he put-up billboards expressing his feelings. To me, it looks like Obama is trying to destroy this nation from with-in. Dunno... Chuck
  10. A dollar a year for ten years. Not too revolutionary. $1 per year is approximately equal to 2¢ per week. I doubt it would have any noticeable effect for anyone, not even if such a raise was given every year for ten years. And then inflation proofed. So, you want to increase the minimum wage from $7.25 to $7.2505, and inflation proof that figure. Fair enough. That's much more reasonable than your proposal to increase the minimum wage to $20 per hour. $15 an hour was my estimate. And I asked you how you arrived at that figure. You then decided $20 per hour would be better. Then you changed your mind and suggested $7.2505 per hour (i.e., $1 per year increase) would be a better minimum wage. Are you going back to $15 per hour? That's WAY too much and would decrease employment. My suggestion is $1 a year increase in the minimum wage until the employment 'sweet' spot is reached. In my opinion somewhere between $15 and $20. You say the sweet point is about $9. Where's the proof behind your inuendos, suppositions, maybes, repetitions, estimates and wild-assed guesses? Any 'real' scholarly support to your 'ideas'? Or, are you just looking for a raise? Chuck
  11. Right on! It may never go to print, it may end up as a self published Kindle book, but we'll see. Stranger things have happened to less strange people. Ya' just never know! The best of luck to you with it! Chuck
  12. It must be billvon? He's a... Noooooo... Chuck
  13. Yeah this is starting to smell like one of our favorite banned posters hiding behind a sock puppet. Same here! If it walks like a duck and it quacks like a duck... Chuck
  14. When it goes to print, I want to buy an autographed copy! That's for real. Chuck
  15. That's what the wealthy would of course say. Just like they say 'trickle down' works. And the greedy want their hands on the wealth of others. By any means necessary. Which makes you... He's just stirrin' the soup. First he's for it, then, he's against it. Maybe, he's a politician!? Chuck
  16. A tax is a tax. You seem to like taxes... I'll let you pay mine! That's a Romney quote. I don't know about that, I just calls 'em like I sees 'em. Chuck

  18. As do I. My main goal in this life is to provide for my family. The thought that the government will step in and take already taxed money away from me in that process bothers me quite a bit. Then again, our current government really doesn't value the family unit as much as it should, IMO. I'm sure you can see my point here, thus I won't bother to elaborate further. Yes, I do see your point, clearly and agree 100%. Chuck
  19. How is it a double tax if the kids haven't previously been taxed on it? The parents paid taxes on it for all those years, the kids would pick-up from there. Also, do realize, that if we keep lozing family farms and ranches, we will be a total food importer in the next 25-yrs. Chuck One more time - money doesn't pay tax. People pay tax. Property taxes are the only taxes I can think of where the same person is taxed multiple times on the same thing. If you want to protest double taxation, choose a tax that really is double taxation. You bet! Chuck
  20. Chuck, I think the point some folks are trying to make here is that any economic transaction undertaken between two adults should be taxed. ...and I totally dis-agree with inheritance tax (obviously). ...and thanks! Chuck

  22. I can't speak for each and every farmer or rancher as to how they handle their business. Just over all, to me, the inheritance tax is a double tax and is wrong. For reasons I stated earlier. Chuck
