    Racism

As in "Some of my best friends are Black"? I have just returned from a four week trip to the US (bass fishing on Lake Okeechobee, FL) and I can tell you without fear of contradiction, racism is alive and well in the USA. And I assure you, I know racism when I see it! Did I mention any 'specific' race? You're generalizing and I sense an insinuation I'm racist by your statement. If that's the case, you don't know me or how I feel. Sadly, racism is alive and well here and not just in the South but that doesn't mean everyone is. You don't seem to have your eyes open all the way. Chuck

I'm sorry, I don't speak Texan. Say what? That was a song back in the 80's. You young 'uns! Chuck

All of them over-ratedand over-paid! Then too, would we be... 'Blinded by Science'? Chuck
  4. Keep in mind it wasn't simple "one squeeze of the trigger"... he shot her 9 times. I think that defines really meaning it. Shooting her 9-times was pure rage and anger. He wanted he dead. We don't know what she did to set him off. The guy definately has anger issues. It's like someone stabbing someone once or 41-times. Theguy definately has anger issues. Chuck

    Racism

Same here. I was raised to judge people for what's in their head and heart, not their skin color. I've learned a lot from folks of different races and they influenced me in good ways. I learned in my life that there's a lot of good-good people out there and they're not all 'white'. Chuck
  6. "A post mortem conducted two days after the body landed listed the cause of death as "multiple injuries." Really? How shocking! Looks like he thawed-out before landing. Chuck Heat from re-entry... There ya' go!

  8. That's why, even though we have 'freedom of speech', we still have to be willing to accept responsibility for what we say. We can be held accountable. Chuck
  9. If you get oe, will it make you act like that guy? Also, it sounds like one of those things we made as kids out of monofilament fishing line and a cigar box. Chuck
  10. I apprciate that. I'm just trying to understand the situation. Chuck
  11. "Not have been informed"? The US government downright lied to the people about the effects of nuclear testing and manufacturing. That's what I've thought for years. I'm wondering if the government hasn't spun the truth and set things up saying it was really flourocarbons and avoiding the truth that it was really atomic testing. Can you imagine the furor if they told us the truth? Put the blame on the people. The government isn't going to take responsibility for their screw-ups! Chuck
  12. I'm just curious as to the possibility of previous atomic testing may have gotten the ball rolling. I'm wondering too if we may not have been informed of any lasting effects. Chuck
  13. Isn't that what the global warming folks are saying, that we have holes in the O-zone? Rather than carbon dioxide causing the problem, could it be the nuke testing actually caused it? I don't want to get into some 'conspiracy theory' thing here but going by what you said, kinda opens the door. Chuck
  14. I'm sure there were some albedo effects from the dust from atmospheric tests, but the Test Ban Treaty was 49 years ago now. Yessir, I am aware of the Test Ban Treaty but I was curious about long term effects. Does anyone know the life length of that atomic dust? Chuck
  15. Hey,Skyrad! I was just thinking about the atomic weapons testing back in the '50's and later. Do we know what long-term effects that may have had on our atmosphere? Chuck
  16. This is probably a silly question but all this climate change and global warming that's happening, I've been curious about this. Could in any way, all the atomic bomb testing in past years have anything to do with what's going on now? Chuck
  17. They'll just go out where the money tree grows... Chuck
  18. I believe you are right and making good points. I wouldn't give a plug nickel for his safety if he tried to ban guns or have them confiscated. I feel he's a very self-centered and arrogant type but he's not stupid enough to go that severe. I'm glad I stocked-up on ammo for all my and my wife's guns a few years ago when the ammo was lower in price. I could probably have gotten more .30-06 but I know where I can get good stuff cheap. Chuck
  19. I feel quite certain, some group or some one would get it before the Supreme Court! Guns are a huge, touchy subject in this country. I carry a pistol when I'm horseback... rattlesnakes, mostly. I have a CHL and the right to have that gun. Obama would have to be an idiot to even attempt to ban guns or even have them 'confiscated'. I don't care if it is his last term. If, he did, I would expect the worst. You touched on something that a lot of people forget... Obama is a bi-product of Illinois government... 'nuff said. Chuck
  20. That's what I've been thinking. Like I said earlier... any politician going along with a total ban of guns would be the most hated people walking. They got to have votes. I've never fired a full auto and that video looks like too much fun! Chuck
  21. I agree, big time! You're sur right about Obama being sneaky. He keeps throwing-out his 'executive order' card. Let me ask this, couldn't the Supreme Court do something. It's been so long since I took high school government class. His Highness B.O., seems to think he's omnipitant. I just don't trust the guy. I don't like the way he goes around our Constitution and our Bill of Rights just to express his 'authority'. Chuck
  22. You nailed it when you mentioned 'common sense'. That's what is lacking with the 'Chicken Littles' in this country. I get the idea, they believe every gun owner is a terroristic threat to their safety. They thrive on 'scare tactics', half-truths and downright lies. All in an effort to support their cause. Just like some of the animal rights groups. That's another topic. As I said earlier in another gun thread, they can't see that by taking guns from good citizens, they increase the number of victims. That's because only the bad guys will have guns. The cops can't be everywhere at one time! A person With a concealed carry permit could very well save their sad little life. In reality, I don't believe we have much to worry about. If, there ever comes a day when a bill hits Congress to ban and take our guns, there will be such an up-roar and every politician would suddenly be the most hated person walking. Those politicians do like our votes... don't they? Chuck
  23. Like so many in this country, I like guns. I especially like older guns, Colts and Winchesters. I like the fact that I live in a country where I can own them. I have been taught as a kid, the proper handling and use of guns. I detest the idea of someone wanting to take that right away from us. If, our government ever decides to take that right away from us, I believe it just might get ugly. Chuck
  24. Good info! Thanks! Here in Texas, it is now legal to hunt game using suppressors! Chuck
  25. I noticed a bit of obsession with guns in all the posts on the subject. I don't think DD could inundate us with that many posts on the subject. Now that you mention it, it does sound a little fishy. Chuck
