  1. Could happen! All the 'scare mongers' are all worked-up and not using their heads. The way new gun control bills are flying around, there's more confusion than sensibility. The last school masacre has everyone riled-up and noone seems to be settling down and being rational. The whole country is divided. We need to let thebull-shit and gunsmke settle and approach the subject of guns with some sense and reason. Otherwise, what you describe is going to happen. Chuck
  2. Justout of curiosity... what do you think of limited terms of office for Senators and Congressmen? For instance... 2-terms for Senators and 3 terms for Congressmen? To me, it seems that the longer they are in office, the liklihood of them getting 'stale' is possible. Limiting terms in office, would keep things 'fresh'. Chuck
  3. He's just 'easing' into his percieved dictatorial powers. It's all about his legacy. To think, we have 4 more years of this guy! Chuck

I like gun threads too... as long as there is some good 'sense' involved. Leave-out the 'knee-jerk' and 'Chicken Little' responses. I can appreciate good, sound information and logical discussion in regard to guns. Chuck
  5. That'll raise the noxious gas level! You just might wipe-out the entire 0-zone single-handedly! Chuck
  6. If, you look closely, the majority of those killings were gang/drug running related. Chuck
  7. Not sure what you'd do for the Packers. How 'bout meat cleavers on their helmets? Chuck
  8. I'm glad to see this! Wyoming, as has been mentioned in these forums, has a proposal that something similar could work here in Texas. In the part of Texas where I live, we get a lot of illegals and dope runners, many of whom are armed. Also, a lot of crooks and other assorted bad guys like to hide-out in this country. Just banning all guns won't work out here. A 911 call takes roughly 45 minutes for a response. Too much can happen in that time frame. Those are just a couple reasons I have a CHL. Chuck
  9. Feel good legistlation just like Clinton's Brady Bill How 'bout this... http://home.myhughesnet.com/news/read.php?rip_id=%3CDA3O7C383%40news.ap.org%3E&ps=1011 Chuck
  10. There a' go! Tells me that our government doesn't have their priorities right. If it means armed guards or some other means, it needs to be looked into. Whilekids are in the classroom, their only concern should be learning. Chuck
  11. There is not one office building in DC that you could just walk in and get on an elevator. If our schools are under threat of attack why are there not buzzers and attendants at the doors? This is NOT ABOUT GUNS OR VIDEO GAMES ITS ABOUT ACCESS TO GROUPS OF PEOPLE. They don't seem too concerned. I guess, they just 'expect' our government to take care of them, not unlike so many others in this country. Maybe, you could enlighten them. Chuck
  12. I guess, it would depend on the locking system in the doors. Chuck
  13. No more than kids dying in swimming pools, traffic accidents, etc. I am for ensuring if some has been determined to be a risk to themselves or others that they cannot pass the background check to purchase a firearm. I am open to ideas that will prevent these shootings. So far I haven't heard any ideas that would. Do you have any? I don't oppose scientific research. Scientific research is great. Derek V OPENING YOUR MOUTH MIGHT HELP. The attendant at the front door of the local elementary school said in a meeting in front of school officials just yesterday near me: "Can we put a lock on the front door near where I sit. Right now any person can walk right in. We need a vestibule and a buzzer. I don't feel safe sitting here." One person upon hearing the person say that said: "Now that's a good idea." As if no one had ever thought to lock the door. No one ever mentioned it. State the concern, develope a plan, and put the plan into action. This is not rocket science. Our schools are under attack and getting rid of everyones guns is the LAST SOLUTION. What aout in the case of fire in the school house? If, all the exits are locked how would the kids get out? wait for someone to un-lock the doors? Chuck
  14. From all I've read and heard, Obama is staunchly against guns. I have a gut feeling, the powers of being president has gone to his head. I don't like his use of his powers to get his way. I can't help but think back on who he has associated himself with in the past. If, he gets his way, he'll make law abiding citizens, sitting ducks. He can't see that his taking guns away from honest citizens, 'bad guys' will still have their guns. I think, it's time we start writing letters to our representitives and let them know our feelings. 15. I know we both are poking fun at this event...but somehow it wouldn't surprize me if we see this poor women and her children in court. Hell if this had happened in New York, she would been placed in jail. Her in Texas, we would be planning a parade in her behalf. I don't see it as 'poking fun'. I see it as exposing the truth!! So many in this country think more about getting money, the 'easy' way. The hell with morals. Chuck
  16. To someone with a mental problem, 'suspension' could be a motive. What you suggest, should be looked into. Chuck
  17. No doubt! Just another example of how complacancy can get you killed. Folks need to be more aware of their surroundings. That is what has become of our society. Chuck
  18. Hmmmm... seems like, with a 'hit list' and having been suspended, the kid just might have anger issues and someone should've kept an eye on him. Another one slipped through the cracks. Real shame. Chuck
  19. You can but the right sized socket wrench works better! Chuck
  20. as an evil gun user, she'd be very culpable in using harsh language on this poor guy. it might just emotionally scar him. she should get counseling on her anger issues and learn to be more tolerant of the poor guy who is likely a victim of corporate society's abuse of the downtrodden and probably not potty-trained properly as a child. Chuck
  21. ...and video games like'Grand Theft Auto' and others. Seems to me that playing some of the violence filled games would seep into certain minds and twist their thinking. Dunno. Chuck
  22. Good for her! She did the right thing, defended her life and the lives of her children. The guy had no business being there and was in the home without permission. A 'good' gun story. Good job, Mom!! Chuck
  23. I believe,it was in 1967 that some college students were protesting the Viet Nam War at an Ohio University and something happened to where National Guard troops opened fire on the protesters. I apologise but I cannot recall the name of the University. KENT STATE! Just remembered!
