As long as I have been a rigger, I have been a 'stickler' for NOT mixing components. I have had several jumpers over the years, complaining of not being able to get their main into the bag. I am asked if a bigger bag will help. The parachute is the right size for the container and the bag that came with it. I explain that it could be the way they pack. Which is usually taken as an insult. Manufacturers point out in their instructions to use only their components with their harness-containers. Some jumpers have just gone ahead and used off-brand components and wondered why they were having problems. It's just not a good idea! Chuck

I'd let them go. If, they don't come back... I'd hunt 'em down and beat the crap out of 'em! Seriously. If, there was a law broken in regard to the hurt, I'd get with the proper authorities. Chuck

No. I would make that "not necessarily", rather than a flat-out "no". It would depend upon whether or not you have an RSL, wouldn't it? ____________________________________________ In all the different manufacturer's instructions I've read, regarding cable lengths on the release handles, I cannot recall having seen where the finished cable lengths were to be exactly the same. With or without an RSL. Some of these were prior to the advent of the RSL. I would highly recommend referring to the manufacturer's instructions or contact the manufacturer in regard to this matter. Does it bother you to kiss a girl who is wearing lipstick?
masterrig replied to skymama's topic in The Bonfire
I grew-up in the days when lipstick was a really big thing. It seems that nowadays, it's isn't all that 'popular'. Gloss, seems to have taken it's place. To sum it up, it doesn't make a difference to me. I do know, it's a bitch to get off of a shirt collar! Chuck -
Blatz? Wow! they still brew that? I tried it once, a long time ago and recall, it wasn't bad. That's gotta be a pretty old church key. In regard to removing broken rubber-bands, I use a pair of small surgical scissors. If, they are on really tight, I'll snip the broken ends as close to the knot as I can. I then, peel the remainder from the retainer loop with my thumb. One thing I've found to help lengthen the life of rubber-bands is, not dragging the band across the inner edge of the grommet for the locking stoes. I pull the rubber-band straight-up through the hole of the grommet, taking care to not drag it across the grommet. Chuck

Country music?!!! C'mon, some of it's pretty good! I totally agree on the rest, though. Walt ______________________________________ Hell, he ain't country, that's all! Cus, when you're down in Texas... Bob Wills is still the king! As for golf? I don't like it. to me, it's like watching grass grow. Willy likes it so it can't be too bad. Chuck

Besides being scary shit, it makes me mad, at the same time. Also, in reading the article you posted, I specifically mentions Windows - XP. That's what I'm running. It came with the computer. The last time I tried to down-load the Service Pack 2, my computer crashed! Ain't that just ducky. Fucking thieves... I hate 'em! Chuck
