What are the Natural Disaster Risks where You Live?
masterrig replied to lawrocket's topic in The Bonfire
___________________________________________ My first time in Calif., was June, 1970. I was headed to my duty station and would stay with relatives, till I found a place of my own. I drove through Calexico and over the mountains into San Diego County. To the right of my view were blackened mountainsides from brush fires and scattered smouldering homes. Drove on to El Cajon and to my cousin's home. I was there about 20-minutes when things on shelves started rattling. "Just a tremor... we get 'em all the time!" my cousin told me. The following year was ... interesting! I'll never forget it! Chuck -
What are the Natural Disaster Risks where You Live?
masterrig replied to lawrocket's topic in The Bonfire
Up until this year, here in West Texas, we've had 13-yrs. of drought. Due to the drought, we've been highly susceptible to brush fires. Then too, we might get the occasional tornado. That risk, hasn't been too bad in recent years. When we do get rain, we quite often, get damaging hail with it. We've had all the windows in our house blown-out by hail. When the rain is heavy, we get flash flooding. Summer months are hotter'n hell. Other than that, it ain't a bad place to live. -

Well if, you've bought his tapes and read his books... that's from 'Bob 'n Tom'. They parody him a lot. I think we have so many folks who kind of feel that, they have to be 'taken care of'. Too many folks are looking for that 'magic' pill or the person who is going to come along and make it all better. Thus, we have Dr. Phil, Oprah and all the others. To me, they capitalize off those who need that type of thing. Hey! If it works for folks, then I guess it's not all bad. I don't guess, they are doing any harm. Chuck

Absolutely hilarious show. One of my favorites on the show is, Stewie! I had a job like that once. The boss let everyone go home before a holiday at noon. I got to hang-a-fucking-round till 5:00! I wanted to murder that sumbitch! Look at it this way... you still got 3-days! Chuck

________________________________________ I think, the originator of that joke was Sid Ceasar. As I explained to the lady, previously. If, someone else likes him... fine. I think, personally, he's full of shit up to his ears. I notice, he 'plays' people and sets them up, like someone telling someone's fortune. To me, the guy's a side-show act. If, someone gains some good for that... that's cool. Chuck

_______________________________________ I read it in our local paper awhile back. The story didn't really go into detail, as I recall. Wish, I had more dirt. I might not care for him but, you like him and you feel he has helped you. To me, that's good. Maybe, I'm a bit of a skeptic. Chuck

That's what is worrying me. __________________________________________ Darn good idea! If, a curfew is put in place, all hell could break loose. They have to do something, though. It just boggles my little brain, how people reach-out to help someone else and get that hand bit off!? Maybe, things will settle down. I'm sure, the Houston police are monitoring the situation. They can always be loaded-back on busses and dumped at the state line! That might be ugly but, they have to realize, they are in actuality... invited guests of Houston. Chuck

Could work! I doubt, anyone would 'take' on the idea. Chuck

...and what about some of the kind and caring folks in your hometown who are taking them into their own homes. Those folks don't know who they are taking in! All they are trying to do is be good to their fellow man/woman. I don't think that they were aware of what they might be getting into. I don't think, that any of the refugees going to private residences', had background checks! You folks, be careful! It's really sad. You just can't help everyone. Chuck

They all, must've attended the 'Baba Wawa School of Broadcasting'! Chuck

I just hate it when you have to use it and there ain't none! It's no fun, waddling around with your britches down around your ankles! Chuck

They'll just have to get over it! We know ya' better. Getcha one o' those plastic hands that you stick on your lower windshield that looks like it's waving... like the truckers used to have. That'll work! Chuck

How's 'bout 'Toro-poo-poo'? Bovine excrement, maybe? or 'Cowboy guacamole'? 'Bull-shit' just sounds better! freeflir29 not getting good cigarrettes... THAT's Bull-shit! Chuck

_______________________________________ Oh, heck no! I don't take things too seriously... especially on BF. I'm sorry but, I just can't bring myself to watch him. Thanks for letting me in on his little 'joke'. I just question someone who makes it 'big' in another state after having his license pulled in his home state. If, I'm not mistaken, the reason it was pulled, was for sexual harrassment. Now, he's famous... so, it doesn't matter any more. Sorry for the rant. Chuck

That's like the little blonde, driving along got stopped by a police officer. The officer asked if she knew how fast she was going. The blonde asked: "This isn't going to be another breathalizer test, is it?" Chuck

my main flap won't stay shut on my odyssey
masterrig replied to josheezammit's topic in Gear and Rigging
I've seen what Hook is talking about and it's especially more common with larger parachutes such as yours. Folks, tend to pack them more narrow and the end result is a 'bulge' toward the center of the main container. Try packing it a bit wider than the bag. Chuck -

SCARY: CREEPS skydiving gadget is this for real?
masterrig replied to FIREFLYR's topic in The Bonfire
________________________________________ Earlier in this thread, someone made a 'clicky' to some of the gadgets. The guy that does those ads has a great sense of humor and probably verges on genius! I've heard of some of these things over the years in the sport but, noone has given them a 'life' like he has. Chuck
