Interesting little milestone for Speakers Corner
masterrig replied to BillyVance's topic in The Bonfire
I didn't stay long enough to see any milestones. Just j0nes skulking around over there. I just hauled-ass back here... where it's safe! Well... Billy... you gonna tell us what the little milestone is???? Chuck -

Hi Gemini We had our induction physical at the same induction center as Arlo (Whitehall st.) Just like you said it was right on target, except IMO for us at the time it was happening it was still funny Standing in a very long line (very early in the morning) in your underware. A bunch of army dudes barking instructions in a foreign language to a bunch of 18 Y.O.'s that knew they were going to be classifed 1A. After they got poked, proded, yelled at Whatever BTW we were classified 1SH by our draft board.....For 6 month's R.I.P. FWIW we bought the DVD from Amazon. _____________________________________ At my draft physical, there was this huge biker dude. They actually let him wear his 'colors' on his sleeveless leather jacket. Anyhow, when it came time to give a urine sample, here's this huge guy, almost in tears... he couldn't pee! One guy started to pass a cup around just to help him out. Chuck

________________________________________ You can tell the one from the others... the one on the right only has half of a face. Dr. Phil is such a joke! He had his license to 'practice' jerked in Texas! Chuck

A skydiver telling lies. No shit, there I was, 10,000 feet, up to my ass in ripcords, thought I was going to die. Sounds like a plan. Sparky _____________________________________ That'd be good! I'm up for it! Mark has some rather good tales and I feel more than certain that, you just might have one or two that you could tell. Chuck

Just like the 70s....when they came out with the Trans-AM 4.6L/ 5.8L engines....yep, just like the 70s. Just 'unlike' the 70s, be careful when you discredit 4 cyl, these are not the same as they were in the 70s. 4 cyl cars now are relatively quick...factor in change in techology. ___________________________________ Yup! Factor in 'tongue in cheek.' Chuck

Any way I can get it! Chuck

I saw him on t.v. awhile back. I was amazed at how his voice hadn't changed and he still has that great sense of humor. In 1992, he bought the church where Alice and Ray lived. Turned it into a charity place to help folks with Hunnington's Chorea Woody had. Chuck

Nothin' like that EVER happens to me! I'm very happy for you.

__________________________________________ Right you are! All the events in that movie were based on a true story. I recall my draft physical, too. I was barely 21 and was later deferred because I was a police officer at the time. All the other branches had waiting lists. I recall, coming home and watching the conflict on the evening news. All I can say, to you and all who served over there is; Thank you! You guys did your job and served the United States. Blue Skies! Chuck

Watched 'Alice's Restaurant' for the um-teenth time, Sunday. You're right, he's a good musician and he's funny! It's understandable, his growing up around folks like his dad, Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, Mississippi John Hurt and others. Glad you got to See Arlo! Chuck

There's no telling. We've been 'bitten' too. Chuck -
I've never seen him face-plant. It wasn't him at the race a couple weeks ago either. I hope, I didn't infer that it was? When I was working on my Master cert. he was one of my instructors (as I've mentioned here) I earned a ton from he and Sandy, both. I consider Mark, as one of my dearest friends. That'd be really cool if, we could all get together and swap lies! Chuck

What? "Yo momma" is a standard answer to all questions even remotely resembling the one you posed. Who'd you nail? Yo momma Hey dude, you get laid last night? Yeah dude, yo momma's a screamer! And so on... __________________________________________ Stop it! You're killin' me, here! Good thing I wasn't eating or drinking when I read that. I get the distinct impression, ol' j0nsie ain't gettin any... ya' think? Living vicariously through DZ.commers. How sad. pobre cita! Chuck

__________________________________________ Thank you, for that. That's great to know. There has been previous discussion on this forum about Skyride. When I saw the article in Skydiving Magazine, I posted about the article. I am glad to know that things have worked-out good for Mike. As I've stated here, I have found him to be a great deal of help and information. I have also stated that I hope only the best for him and his endeavors. Thank you again, for setting things straight.
