_________________________________ Being able to compete with Japanese and Korean auto makers will help. Ford and GM, have the technology to do so. Has Ford been hoping that 'Buy American' would keep them afloat? Most of the Ford and GM components, engines and drive trains, are foreign made and assembled here. Also, high wages have helped to price them out of the market. Chuck Funny thing is my Acura TL is made in the US by Americans and has more American parts in it than my Ford Expedition. Go figure. ____________________________________ Yeah, that's nuts! My Dodge pick-up was assembled in Mexico! Several years ago, My step-dad, who was in the 'tech' portion of GM, bugged me about driving a Nissan P/U. So, when I bought a new pick-up, I bought an S-10. Thinking at the time, I was buying 'American" He informed me that, the engine and drive-train were made in Japan. The frame and sheet metal was made in the U.S. and it was all assembled here. Maybe, we should kick the foreign car makers outa here and raise the import duty so high on them they would be un-affordable and go back to making cars totally here!??? Chuck

QuoteI'm jealous. ever since Christmas or so this has been a pretty wimpy-ass winter. I want another snow storm so I can stay home!! especially now that all the holidays are over.[/reply _______________________________________ You, are so right about it being a "wimpy-ass winter"! Right now, I'll take any kind of moisture the skies will provide! We haven't had any kind of moisture here, since Oct. 16th! Chuck

Thank you and Happy Monday, to you too! Though, it was 'short' or went by fast, it was a great week-end for me and I'm looking like a Marvelous Monday! Have a Great Day!

Cutting jobs will not keep them in business. It will only provide a temporary reprieve. Making products people want to buy will be their only salvation. _________________________________ Being able to compete with Japanese and Korean auto makers will help. Dear Rhonda, Please, settle a dis-agreement between my wife and I. My wife says 'NO', Wranglers don't go with everything. I say, they DO. Please, help. Troubled in Texas ______________________________________

I've read The Hobbit a couple of times and LOTR maybe three times. And a few related books at least once. Some parts do drag. And drag. And drag. rl I mean, being the dork that I am, I really wanted to like LOTR. But they are just not very exciting books. Tolkien's writing style does absolutely nothing for me. I guess I have to turn in my card.

I think, a continued surveillance of the mall would be beneficial. Being that, the mall is part of their 'motis operandi', it would be beneficial to 'camp-out' there. There's truth in the statement that perpetrators return to the scene of the crime. Good luck and be careful!!! Chuck

I've used a wood-burning tool for years. They're in-expensive and can be found at Wal-Mart or hobby shop. I carefully ground the thickest tip into a 'blade'. It works great on webbing, F-111, 0-P, Cordura and Para-Pack. Be sure and get the holder/stand for it. They come with various, changeable tips. One of which is a dull-point tip that works great for basting. Chuck

sighhhh I didnt think you had fit the role of "typical man" __________________________________ That's quite a compliment. Thank you. I probably shouldn't have popped that off. I'm sure, there is much more to the situation than what we're getting. chuck

I think the babe in the picture is the Crown Princess, not the Queen. And she's Australian, not Danish. That's why she's hot ______________________________________-- No matter... she's still, pretty shiny! Chuck

That must have been one hell of a tall grain elevator! Walt _______________________________ No, just your every day, standard size grain elevator. The guy explained, he had two other guys holding the corners of his parachute so it would inflate, immediately. By the time he hit full line-stretch... boom! He was on the ground. he's lucky, he didn't seriously injure himself. I think, the 'beer courage' in him probably saved him from something more serious. BTW I think, the guy came to our DZ, 1 - 2 times later and we never saw him again. I heard rumors, he sold his gear!? Chuck
-
Neat pictures, Walt! Every time I hear or see B.A.S.E., I think of an ol' kid, a few years ago. Came to our DZ, really gung-ho. Did fairly well in his static-line training and bought his own gear. One Sunday morning, he showed-up at the DZ looking like he had the livin' shit beat out of him. We of course, asked him if he'd been in a car wreck or what. Seems as though, after about a 12-pack, he decided to make his first B.A.S.E. jump... from a grain silo! I couldn't help myself, I about bust a gut laughing. He was O.K. so, we could laugh at him. There were no broken bones but, he looked like a giant bruise with some abrasions thrown-in. Chuck
