    Very few country singers nowadays are singer songwriters. Very very few. Nashville did away with them. They've now got teams of writers that do nothing all day long except pound out songs. The talented (I use this loosely) singers get to choose their own material. The ones like Carrie Underwood, just sing what they're told to sing. _______________________________________ Nashville just produces 'cookie-cutter' entertainers. Singers like Toby Keith, Waylon, Wilie and those who really have talent, broke from the 'Nashville machine' and made it on their own. When Nashville wanted Waylon Jennings to sing what they wanted him to sing, he told them to; "Fuck-off!" Didn't hurt him, any. Chuck

Actually, Carrie did another song called wasted that, in the first verse, talks about a girl just getting up and leaving a guy. ____________________________________ She just sings what the music 'big wigs' tell her to sing because they believe, it'll make them money.     Whatever happened to having some class by packing up your things, being glad you found out about the loser, getting tested for STD's and moving on with your life? Sheez!     Just a little? Which is why I choose to simply scroll past the drivel that the clique-y postwhores can't resist posting. Not all of us; I respond to a thread when it interests me, regardless of who posted. Some of us aren't in a circle and feel no need to be in one (not that anything is wrong with being in a circle or wanting to be in one).     There used to be state mental hospitals where people could be sent when they were off their freakin rockers.. but instead.... since so many conservatives in the Reagan Era did not want to foot the bill for others who need help in life.... the hospitals have been closed to save money...instead they live amoung us.. as street people. __________________________________ I don't know if, it's still done or not but, at a time, some mental patients wre given 'one way' bus tickets to some far-off town.     Started at a Cessna DZ. Just like someone else here mentioned, I was crammed in the back with 3-mega-hulks. I had a hard time with the West Texas heat and the cramped quarters. My first jumps out of a Sky Van or Queen Air were fantastic... those planes were so 'roomy'! Chuck

    Did several. Mostly, to help someone else finish-up their TI requirements. They were a blast! Well... except for one time. The TI, had his hands behind his head and I did most of the 'work'! Chuck

    _____________________________________ I don't think, 'anyone' understands American culture! Seriously... any time something like this happens, the 'anti-gunners' go nuts. First of all, a background check was done on the guy who bought the gun in this recent incident. Records came back 'clean'... the guy could and did buy the gun. That gun, was just fine, laying in that gun case until, that guy bought it and used it to kill people. No matter how hard we try to avoid things like University of Texas, Columbine, Virginia Tech and etc. they happen. If, every gun in this country was collected and destroyed and absolutely noone had a gun, some whacko, somewhere, would figure-out a way to kill someone else on a large scale. Chuck
