  1. _______________________________ Just hang in there... you just might see that! Chuck
  2. Now thats what I am talkin about.....you want a war.. go do it yourself ______________________________ With the exception of Chaney, I'd feel safer standing in front of most politicians with a gun! Chuck
  3. I'm one who never says 'never'... you just never know.! I'd hate to think it might but, the way things are going in the world... I'm a bit nervous. I still think, whoever said that these politicians who start wars and such should go out to a grassy pasture and choose their weapons... was right! Leave us out of it! Chuck
  4. Thanks, for pointing that out, Mel! Chuck
  5. ____________________________________ There are jobs some people 'will not do' because welfare is available. Those folks who won't do certain jobs just aren't hungry enough. I've done some jobs that weren't high-dollar or required a college degree just because I needed the work and I was hungry. The whole situation is screwed-up. Chuck
  6. Yeah we will. But you'll be bitching about paying extra for everything from a simple burger to a hotel room. Bottom line is our economy needs them, and you also want to pay the least for food and services. Check this article out. http://www.greeleytrib.com/article/20061226/NEWS/112230087&SearchID=73281214662644 Would you be willing to pay extra for food and services knowing that the labor used was legal? Bottom line to illegal labor is money. It saves a s*&tload of money and it's passed on to the consumers. _________________________________ I would rather see that 'exra' going to a U.S. citizen rather than to an illegal who sends a large amount of their earnings back to Mexico. How much of that money comes back? Besides, businesses will look for any excuse to raise prices anyhow and call it 'Free Enterprise'! Chuck
  7. ________________________________- Truly awesome! Chuck
  8. I respect your point of view to side with life. I unfortunately don't think that our country has the luxury of entrusting our government to penalize employers thru the element of issuing fines as a deterrent for hiring illegal immigrants. After all, this same government is already penalizing the self employed by the current tax code, yet small business owners still find ways to exploit the loop holes to avoid such penalties. That just leaves the large corporations and they are the least of our concern because they are too far above the radar to cover up hiding illegals. Therefore, as much as we would like to believe that our government has "thoroughness and follow-up", they don't! They can't even tell us if we have 12 million or 20 million illegal immigrants. Again, a tough pill to swallow but effective. _________________________________ There is no way, the government or anyone else could keep count of illegals in this country. Not even turnstiles with counters on the foot trails would help. Amazon, I think, is on the right track with the idea of penalizing employers who hire illegals. Remove the 'need' for illegals and it would really help. We used to do that! Raids on businesses, also works. Put the 'fear' into employers. Chuck
  9. I take it, my attempt at humor fell flat? Chuck
  10. Chuck, Thank you very much. To get back on topic, that was a very well written piece by Hooknswoop some 4 years ago. I’m sure it has helped many since. Jeff ___________________________________ Glad you found it! I read the entire thread and thought it was well done with some very good contributions. Chuck
  11. ________________________________ Replace as needed! Chuck
  12. ___________________________________ That'd work! Fine the crap out of all businesses who hire illegals. Take that money to pay for their ride back to their native country. Chuck
  13. I couldn't pull it up but, I think, you found it. By the way... good luck to you in your endeavors. Chuck
  14. The departure of illegal aliens, whether by deportation or by their own choice will not happen so suddenly. It will take a long time, and the economic impact will be spread out because of that. It should start happening, in my opinion. ____________________________ Deportation proceedings are costly and time consuming. Just take them back to their native countries... You are so right... it needs to start happening... NOW! Chuck there are several studies out that proves it to be cheaper to deport the illegals, none of the options are cheap, but considering all the money wasted on law enforcement, medical, education, incarceration, insurance costs, peopel killed etc. it does wind up cheaper to deport. _________________________________ Add to that the transportation costs. If, they have never been apprehended or apprehended less than 3-times, they can simply be transported back to their native countries. I really 'wonder' about some of these so-called 'studies' and who they are trying to 'serve'. Interesting, though. Chuck
  15. Hooknswoop, had a real good thread on this topic... check it out! (If, you haven't already) Chuck
  16. Spot clean the area with Varsol (lighter fluid'!) Daub with a clean cloth. Repeat if necessary. Keep turning the clean cloth so that you always daub the spot with a clean area of the cloth. Allow to air dry. Immediately using soap and water could 'set' the stain and won't get all the oil out. These same instructions are most likely, in the owner's manual for the container and also, in Poynter's Parachute Manual. If, the stain is on a reserve flap, get the rig to your rigger. I've cleaned, I don't know how many rigs this way and it works! Chuck
  17. Maybe if, you were 'plumbed' different... Chuck

  19. Hmmm. Good idea in theory. In practice illegals have become so integrated in the US economy that if they were all deported tomorrow we'd have a really serious bout of chaos on our hands. _____________________________________ You're probably right. The whole matter, is a touchy subject, not to mention... frustrating. I do feel, we need to be tougher though. The illegals wouldn't take it sitting down, that's for sure. Chuck
  20. The law of unintended consequences says that such an approach stands a decent chance of leading to fewer new jobs, more outsourceing/offshoring, and more overtime for current employees. Make it harder for employers to hire someone, and they'll figure out ways not to hire someone. Wendy W. _______________________________________ That's a good point. I see, what you're saying. Chuck That's NOT a good point. Again, the approach of doing nothing at all or something pretty stupid. I'm picturing an ostrich burying it's head in the sand right about now. __________________________________ Well, I wasn't really agreeing I just thought it was a good point... something to think about. The way I really feel is, gather all the illegals up and ship them back where they came from. No amnesty, no nada. Let the Border Patrol do their job. Any PA I've ever talked with says they feel, their hands are tied. We have laws... enforce them and quit being so 'politically correct' or 'nicey-nicey' about it. This country is too soft in too many areas and we just get walked all over. These politicians need to grow a set and do their damned jobs. Chuck
  21. Maybe... Letterman could use a steam-roller on one... or a 9-lb. sledge hammer!? Chuck
  22. Happy Birthday and many, many more Chuck
  23. Chuck From a friend> "My e-mailbox is flooded with mail concerning gas prices and illegal immigrants. To boycott oil companies or not; to provide amnesty to illegal immigrants or not, etc. Since I have become jaded to the various solutions proposed by the Republicans, Democrats, Sierra Club, ACLU, etc., I have elected to solve the problems as they affect me. It solves both my gas and illegal immigrant problems. I have hired illegal immigrants to push my cars. They're plentiful and cheaper than buying gas. Now here's the smart part...I pay them in pesos so they have to go home to spend it. I love it when a plan comes together." ___________________________________ That, is ingenious! There is a certain chain of pizza restaurants here in Texas who accepts pesos. Still, a helluvan idea. Chuck
  24. ______________________________________________ Yup! Look at the little girl... look at Rosie! Who, would you say hasn't missed any meals? Chuck
  25. Not bad for not doing anything worthwhile. They're all over-paid as it is. Chuck
