  1. Making money, any way they can. Gore preaches all his bull-shit about global warming and conserving energy while he's laughing all the way to the bank. By the way... who, made him an 'authority' on the environment? That guy wastes more energy than a small town. What you told, really shows the hipocracy of the 'stars' who's movies or cd's we buy. There's big bucks in tree huggin'! Chuck
  2. Bejeezuz...I keep thinking of some of those baseball cards we used.... Damn, I wish I still had some of those cards from the mid-50s. __________________________________ You too? Geeze! I think back on some of those cards and comic books and... sob, sob... Chuck
  3. ____________________________ I had to get with the times! Chuck
  4. _____________________________ No step for a stepper! Not to mention the winds to help learn canopy control... quickly! Chuck
  5. Out here, we have a B-29 that is still flying. Thanks to the CAF. This may not be the case, much longer. The lack of availability of parts may ground 'FiFi'. It's really an experience to see that ol' girl in the air... as well as the other war-birds. Even if, they are on 'static display', they are really something. Chuck
  6. I still, have that ol' harness-container and reserve. I gave the Maverone to a 'newbie' and as far as I know, she still has it. It was Navy and Pink! I've kept those colors along the way... I stepped-up to Neon Pink! Chuck
  7. I never did understand what the big deal with that was... _____________________________________ It was 'supposed' to make your bike sound like it had a motor on it. You used a playing card or baseball card and a spring clothes pin. You attached the card to the fender bracket so the spokes clicked on the card. Chuck You missed the joke... _________________________________ yeah... I sure did. Duh ME! Chuck
  8. With all the rigs out there like this http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/detail_page.cgi?ID=50733;d=1 and this is NOT the only one I have seen, there is no reason that a person couldn't build a good safe used rig to jump for cheap. Hell I could build two or three rigs out of parts in the loft of gear that was given away to the dz as junk. Yes, it may not be the hot cool fashion of the day, but it would be safe to skydive with, too many jumpers these days are so quick to blow off or talk shit about older gear, god for bid you might have to learn to fly on your belly and try to have fun. Sorry, but I don't feel sorry for you cry babies, lots of rigs around for less then a grand. ____________________________________ To me, I was the 'coolest' with my first rig! It was a used, Classiflier, black with rainbow stripes and red harness! Converted to 3-Ring, 26' - Navy Conical with 4-line release. I stuck a brand new Maverone in it... that was the best! The harness-container and reserve was a 'gift' and I think, I paid about 5 - 6 hundred for the main. Chuck

  10. After my little incident, I had a great respect for girl's bikes. That bike had foot brakes and it was really cool to go haulin' butt down the road and slam on the brakes and turn sidways. Then of course, there was the playing cards in the spokes. Chuck
  11. Oh my, I remember that book. But I wanted bras. but they were in the "Big Book" ___________________________________ Ah yes! A young boy's dream... the Spring-Summer issue! Chuck Yup. And I never did get one. __________________________________ We used to get ours in the mail. I remember watching for the mailman to bring that book. As it worked-out, i got to it first! I remember when bikinis were first introduced... that was the best issue! Chuck The cute white ones? I meant I never got the bras. Or bikinis for that matter. For some reason mom liked JCPenney's. That store smelled funny. ___________________________________ Never did like J.C. Penny's. Sears had the best lengerie photos... and models. Monkey Ward catalogues were pretty good too. Chuck

  13. __________________________________________ Yeah, Buddy! I remember one time, riding my bike down a gravel road, like a bat outa hell... standing up on the pedals. Both feet slipped off the pedals and my crotch, hit the cross-bar. Just about ended the dynasty right there! Chuck

  15. Got my first bike for Christmas when I was 7. Straight outa the Sears 'wish book'! Chuck
  16. Makes about as much sense as some of the politicians who get elected. At least the pistol can be usefull. Chuck
  17. The price of corn has fallen 20 per cent in the last month, at it's lowest prices for the year. Conversely, Soybeans made a new three year high on Tuesday. It seems the herd mentality produced unintended consequences. ______________________________________ Probably because the price of corn was so high that farmers and ranchers went to an alternate feed source. No, with soybeans so high, they may go back to corn. They have to feed their livestock 'something' in the times of drought when the grass dries-up. They've got to have the feed or go bust. They really, have no control over grain prices. I'm not clear on 'herd mentality'... new one on me! Chuck
  18. Tell me about the price of hay!!! It's doubled in the last year. I have to have it for my horse so, I pay the price. Crop rotation, has been a good idea for a lot of years and many farmers learned the hard way. I hauled enough grain, to know the rest of the story. Chuck
  19. As for the increase in the cost of produce, is it just the lack of 'cheap' labor or the fact that the sudden demand for ethanol has caused the price of corn to sky-rocket? Hail, drought, flooding also cause an increase in the cost of produce at the market. Just a thought. Chuck
  20. 'Dood... where'd you get the candy bracelet!' Chuck

  23. Fine then... I took the liberty of taking it myself. ____________________________________ A bit self-indulgent, aren't you? Chuck
  24. ______________________________________ Thanks, Bill! Sounds like a bit of a 'double-edged sword'. People don't want the illegals, people don't want higher prices for goods. Just the old story... you can't have it all. I would rather see our borders secured and take my chances with higher prices. Chuck
  25. The question is invalid. The laws we have are fine. But they need to be enforced! ________________________________________ You bet! The damned politicians just have the Border Patrol by the balls. Big business wants the 'cheap' labor so, who do the politicians answer to? Damned sure, isn't the 'people'. Chuck
