_____________________________________ Knock on wood, I've never packed a tool or weight. I have re-re-packed one, before it left my shop, because I 'thought' I might have left something and couldn't find it. About half-way through, I'see, among my tools, what I thought I'd packed in! Chuck

Me.....an old bastard...? damn _______________________________________ You're 'famous'! Chuck

--------------------------------------------------------- How about if someone just grabbed your rig , ran to the plane and jumped it without even checking if it was theirs ? ______________________________________ I've actually seen that happen! The guy involved, was habitual at just grabbing a rig off the rack and making a leap. Usually, while the owner was in town getting lunch or more Gatorade. The part that really pissed folks off was, he wouldn't re-pack it... he'd make the leap and leave the DZ! The part I never understood was, he was basically allowed to keep doing it! Chuck

(Not aimed at you twardo, because I know you know) This flour in a canopy thing is one of the oldest and long standing pratical jokes going in the sport and has been a standard for years, albeit in the new day and age of squares you sure don't see it much these days. I have never seen anyone cutaway a floured canopy, tripped out YES, but chop NO! Oh and a handful or two of pea gravel for good measure.... Of course this is best done with a round jump as some have found out... I'm a little surprised to see some of you oldtimers giving the OP so much shit about it, boy have times changed. I guess it shows how many pioneers no longer jump today. This way diff then tampering to do harm to another as we have seen in some cases. ------------------------------------------------------------- I alluded the same thoughts in the thread over in Skydiving , the one Cocheese started. He got all violent and radical so they locked the thread then shortly deleted the whole thing. It aint that big of a deal. But.....baby powder works much better than flour.

Damned good point! Not something to be messin' with. Years ago, someone put playing cards between the folds (flat pack) of our DZO's main. On opening, he looked-up and thought his main blew-up and chopped it. Even though, he had a couple thousand jumps to his credit at the time... it really wasn't funny. He did land safely and the guy who did it got a serious ass chewin'. Chuck

Aw yeah! That's what I'm talkin' about!!! Chuck

I've seen a lot of your Texas beauties in LA, CHI, and ATL. Man, they are hot! And here I thought when Gny. Sgt. Hartman from Full Metal Jacket said that "Only Steers and Queers come from Texas"! ______________________________________ I'd be willing to bet that a 'Miss Texas' has been in the top 5 in the Miss america pageant for the last 50-yrs.! I think too, beauty pageants originated in Texas. Chuck Chuck

I believe, most of 'em are right here in Texas.

Uh-oh, Senators Are Using Prostitutes Again !
masterrig replied to tbrown's topic in Speakers Corner
Good point Chuck, ididn't either, to tell you the truth. But I thought with all the "family values" crapola it might be newsworthy that "the boys" are keeping the escort services steadily empoyed. The ones that really crack me up are the ones who "confess" to "great sins", while their poor wives are standing by. I wish one of the poor wives would deliver a good networthy kick in the 'nads to hubby. And in the meantime, I see nothing wrong with the hookers finding gainful employment among a bunch of wealthy clients. As if it would ever stop. _________________________________ You're right there! The 'dutiful' wives stand-by while their hubbys screw-around and keep quiet because they don't want to spoil their hubby's career. It's like you said... they need to deliver a swift kick to the nads. Divorce their stinkin' asses and get all the alimony they can. Those hookers aren't doing anything more than 'providing a service'. noone says that anyone 'has' to take the offer. At leastwise, the hookers are straight-up about it. Chuck -

I had no idea they quit... or even slowed-down for that matter! Chuck -
Mark Schlatter, Master Rigger, DPRE, is in the Dallas area. Check with Skydive Dallas for riggers in that area. Chuck

The Tony Suit I had, was so well made and the fit was like a Botany 500 suit! You might have to pay a little more for a Tony suit but, it's well worth it. Heck, I'll bet, your grand-kids will be jumping yours! Chuck

My first jumpsuit was a Tony Suit. All I can say is... Tony, knows jumpsuits! Chuck

When it happens to a guy they just sneak off in the morning and then get laughed at by their friends for several months. Like the time my roommate hooked up with an older woman. Like waaaaaaay older. ___________________________________ The old story... 'Took home a number 10... woke-up with a number1! Classic! Chuck

At no point does it say that the man was drunk or so drunk that he lost control of his will, quite the contrary. The man says it was consensual. The woman claims she was too drunk to consent and had regrettable sex, she also by implication asserts that the man was in control of his faculties, certainly she assumes he consented at the very least. If you've admittedly gotten yourself so drunk to be in this mess then damned right you should control your drinking, in this case the woman should control her drinking, nobody has information on the man to say either way, deal with it. We know she did not say NO, drunk or sober no means no, but since she's blaming the alcohol for her inability to consent the inference is that she did NOT say no. If she had said no she could just say "I said NO" rather than "I was drunk". _____________________________________ Had you read what I wrote, I was asking a question. I was not necessarily referring to the original post. You read something into it that I wasn't saying. Chuck

Would you install non-original equipment on a rig?
masterrig replied to PhreeZone's topic in Gear and Rigging
Personally... I wouldn't do it. Simply, for the fact of 'warnings' about original equipment mentioned in owner's manuals and legal issues and etc. That's just me. I would get approval from the harness-container manufacturer first, before I inspect and re-pack a rig with non-original parts. If, I get a rig without the main in it... how do I know? I'll pack it. Chuck -
I hope, nobody saw that!' Chuck

Dang! That's beautiful. Nice picture. Chuck

Well if they are, in fact, equally responsible then couldn't the guy also claim rape? _______________________________ I think, too often, men are looked upon as the aggressor. I think, his chances would be slim and none. Then too, if, the woman slipped him some ex or Viagra... Chuck

A woman who has sex whilst drunk and regrets it later should control her drinking because she is the one who is making bad decisions while drunk. If she does say no, then that is a whole different matter. BTW, I do think that a guy taking advantage of an extremely drunk chick is pretty fucking low, but not criminal. ____________________________________ I don't think, I've seen very many 'good' decisions, while someone is drunk. Some more good points!!! You're sooo right about any jerk who takes advantage of a drunk woman. Chuck
