You really got some good shots, John! Here in the 'desert country' of West Texas, we got a lot of moisture over the winter months and really set things up for the spring. The smaller barrel cactus varieties are in bloom as well as the prickly pear and 'weeds'. This past week, we've had a total of about an inch of rain and that has helped to get things going. I love this time of year! Chuck

Thanks for the info, Peter, Terry & Jim. As was mentioned earlier, I think the 15 years is a BPA or UK equivalent of the FAA rule. Handsome said the entire EU grounds everything at 15 years. Of the two Safety Chutes in my loft, the one is certainly not even worth my time to even inspect. The other, however, is in excellent condition so I'm going to take the time to give it a soup-to-nuts inspection and then decide if it's worth any more of my time. I don't have a problem returning gear unserviced. But I keep getting this old gear! - like the 1972 Softie that was dropped off today. I just don't see myself working on gear that was manufactured when I was in grade school. ETA I had one glider pilot I packed for, who had a '78 model Security-150. I had told him some time before, I didn't feel comfortable packing it any longer... due to age. He sent that rig to Strong Enterprises and they inspected and re-packed it. Chuck

I have to disagree. A single-needle machine, some experience & some careful sewing will do the job just fine. IMO it is a lot easier than trying to lineup everything with a 2-needle machine and still hold everything in place. Probably even a faster job using a single-needle machine. Just my thoughts . . . YMMV JerryBaumchen I've replaced I don't know how many mud-flaps on various containers, using a 31-15. Most of those were because the owner wanted something embroidered on the mud-flap... after market. I just took my time to duplicate manufacturer's work. I understand, it's twice the sewing but done properly, the finished job looks like it was done with a double-needle machine. Chuck

BAD SELLER FROM ITALY - Ferdinando Villano, Be CAREFUL !!!

If you are not expert - why are you try to make such assumption?? Hole in reserve wasnt cut - it was "punched" by something... I'd have to agree with that. the first picture shown a 'clean' cut in the material. the second picture shows a tear like something had been shoved through the material or snagged on something rather than a 'slice' from a cutter. Appears repairable, too. Chuck -
Damn!!!! Can o' peaches goin' into the fridge right now. Don't forget the Jack Daniels! Chuck

Peaches are goooood! Fresh, canned, pies, cobbler... can't beat 'em! Back in my drinkin' days, I'd open a (cold) can of peaches, drink-off a bit of the juice and pour-in a little Jack Daniels! Pretty good on a hot day. Chuck

Wonder how much vaseline it takes, to 'coat' a beaver? Depends on how big of a gal you're talkin' about! Chuck

Sounds like a very pleasant day. It's really good, when the weather cooperates. chuck

Thank God for skydiver humor, even with stuff like this.

Yeah, if he'd meant to do it. Looked to me like he was trying not to hit him - but then again, I freely admit that I know jack shit about hockey. It all worked out... he got the game winner anyway. That was a great game! .. and they always make it look like they didn't try to do it, just like they over dramatize other penalties. They are actors as well as hockey players. The way the Phoenix players 'dive', I'm surprised they aren't required to wear scuba tanks! They embellish worse than French mime! Chuck

Washington State also has no income tax. Sales tax may be less important to retirees, since many of us have most of the consumer goods we need, and food is not taxed. Another consideration, though, is property taxes. WA certainly has one of the higher property tax rates around, at a little over $12/thousand assessed value. I heard Texas is really bad with property taxes. Anyone from the Lone Star State have the rates? I don't have the exact rate but the school taxes are about double the amount paid for property tax! If, the suspect had spit one of the mice out... they'd know it made it through the maze! Chuck

Talk about a knuckle-biter! The Wings get a 7-4 win over the Coyotes!!! Back to Hockeytown with a split decision in the series! Detroit's 3rd. and 4th. lines deliver and Zets gets a 'hat-trick'! Go wings!!! Chuck

I tried to watch it, and a 44 hand rifle was smoking in my hand after 5 seconds and i had a graze on my head! But seriously, its boring. Chuck

I made all my weights using Para-Pack, with a good water resistant backing and #6 lead-shot. The lead dust doesn't work through the material like with Cordura. Chuck

I've never heard that one before! Chuck

I'm kinda glad to see them win. I think back to their 'glory days' and the incredible players and all the Stanley Cups. A wonderful history. Wouldn't that be something if, they pulled it off, this year? Chuck well, last decade was the 1st ever that didnt see the Habs win the cup (since th 1910's, they have at least won the cup once per decade, except in the 00's), so they should just start this decade right! But yeah, I'm not betting any real money on this year . Well, there's nothing wrong with 'hoping'. Hey! They did make the play-offs and beat Washington in the first game! That's a good start. Hell, they did better than 'my' team. Have you ever read 'The Game', by Ken Dryden? A good read! Chuck
