  1. +1 amen, Brutha. We let our kids waste their childhoods playing, camping, climbing trees, riding bikes. We didn't run them to umpteen different sports clinics and enroll them in every activity know to man. In spite of all these huge disadvantages, they are growing into wonderful, amazing adults. Go figger. It boggles the mind. As kids, you think they don't have a prayer. Suddenly, they're adults and we wonder how that happened... they're just fine! Chuck
  2. How 'bout them Habs! 3-2 in OT!!! Cool Chuck
  3. I didn't watch that game so, I couldn't tell you. All these games are going to be exciting from now till the end. I really would like to see the Wings quit lolly-gaggin' and play like they can. After the way they fought to get 5th. in the play-off standings. Now is not the time to slow-down! Chuck
  4. That's sorry! Win lose or draw, you support your team! That's what a 'real' fan does. A team ain't gonna win 'em all and when the they're 'down', that's when you cheer the loudest. Chuck
  5. Skymama1 has a lot to say in her posts... I read maybe first few sentences and skip to the next post for a summary... Maybe, we could get the 'Cliff Notes' version!? Wait a minute... shouldn't skymama1 really be skymama2? Chuck
  6. The Coyotes are Bettman's 'Golden Child', this year! Last year, it was the Pens. He wants the 'Yotes in Glendale so bad it stinks. He said in an interview, in regard to the NHL owning the 'Yotes that; "It's going to look strange when I hand the Stanley Cup to ME!" He's such a jerk! I know, it's way to early to tell but the Kings might be this year's big surprise. To predict a winner now would be like looking to the West for the sunrise. After the first round, guessing might be a bit easier. If, the Wings fall flat, I'd like to see Ottawa. They get passed Cindy and company and stay 'healthy', We could see good things for them. Right now... too early to tell. Chuck
  7. Allowing 3 PP goals? That's BS! The Wings supposedly have one of the best PK's in the League and they allow that? Too many turn-overs by the Wings, sloppy passes and they left Howard out to dry. All Mike Babcock is asking of his team is 'play a full sizty minutes'! The Wings maybe, played a total of 15-minutes. They'd better pick it up or get their greens fees paid in advance. Chuck
  8. Yeah. Something I'm curious about... why do they call them 'training bras'? What are these bras training? Is that like using a circingle on a young horse to prepare him for a cinch? Chuck
  9. Oh! Good grief! No wonder kids are having such a difficult time being kids. Chuck
  10. What happened to Cindy? Only 3-assists! To think... Chicago signed Hossa to a 'multi-year' contract! Bwa-hahahahahaha... Chuck
  11. I weigh 225, the same as I did 34 years ago when I started jumping... ~the CG has changed quite a bit though. Do you get called 'Sir' a lot? Chuck
  12. Not looking good for the Pens in game 1! Ottawa is leading 5-3 in the third. What I'm waiting to see is, the look on Marion Hossa's face when he doesn't get to raise the Cup... again! Chuck
  13. I live about 100-miles from Fort Hancock and they DO have a problem. Members of cartels are following school busses, looking in on basketball games and other 'activities' to let their presence be known. Recently, a high school baseball tournament was cancelled for fear for the player's safety. Folks are scared to death that what is happening in Juarez and other towns in Mexico is going to start-up in this area. I think it's great, the Sheriff told those folks to arm themselves. That county has been having similar problems with Mexican military (looking) vehicles escorting drug shipments through that county and re-fueling at the truck-stop there. Two weeks ago, a rancher in Arizona was murdered by drug smugglers, along that border. It's for real, folks and until we get some real help on our border, it's going to get worse. That's why, my wife and I 'carry' whenever we leave the house. Chuck
  14. I gotta stick with the Wings. They started the season and played at least, the first half with most of their key players out with injuries. Now, they are at full strength while other teams in the play-offs are without players due to injuries. If, the Wings can get past the Coyotes, I see them going all the way to the finals. The Coyotes made some good deals in the last trading. I don't see San Jose getting past the second round. L.A. is going to be tough as well as Chicago. The Wings are really going to have to get their defense going. Their defense has been their 'Achilles heel' all season. With Franzen back, he could be their key. In the East, I see Washington going to the Finals. I don't see the Penguins re-peating. If, they can stay healthy, I like the Wings for the Cup! Chuck
  15. You bet! The short form we recieved later was much easier.
  16. I didn't read all of it, because it was way too long for my attention span. I did notice some of the questions were pretty intrusive, like asking if a person has an emotional condition, or something like that. I can see why people wouldn't feel comfortable answering a lot of it. It was kinda funny, during the phone conversation with the census taker. She asked me if, I was married? I said; "Yes!" Later, she asked the question; "Are you married, single or divorced?" My response was; "I'm still married!" When she asked questions about income, I politely declined because, "I don't feel comfortable divulging that information to a stranger!" What was really strange was when she asked if my wife was, "single, married or divorced! I told the woman; "Nothing's changed in the last 5-minutes, we're still, married!" Chuck
  17. Yes, that's it! Did you notice the questions? They ask if you are married then later, ask if you are divorced... things like that. my wife and I just didn't feel comfortable about it. Especially about income and part-time work. Chuck
  18. They certainly need to re-work the questions and the way they handle it. The way it's written just screams 'scam'. Also, I've always understood that the '1 - six' was sent-out at the same time as the regular census. Also, I recall hearing on the news and reading where there were Senators and Congressmen who were not going to fill-out that particular 'census', due to the intrusive questions. One Congress was quite vocal in regard to her feelings about that census form. Chuck
  19. They didn't ask... and I didn't tell. The 'hard time' I gave that woman, she was probably glad to be done with me. Like I said, I got a big form in the mail and throughout it, were warnings if, I didn't fill it out and return it. The first thing I asked the woman was, what the penalty was for not giving the information... she just stuttered and stammered. That's when I proceded to refuse to answer certain questions and pointing-out the redundancy of their questions. I haven't heard any more from whoever. Chuck
  20. Which one was that? I never got anything like that at all. I'm not sure but it might have been one of those 'selected' census. They asked how much we earned each year, How many lived in this house and our nationality, etc. What was really 'stupid' about that census was, they would ask first if, I was married. Later, they would ask (basically) the same question and if I was divorced. I told her... "I just told you I was married!" I tore-up the 10 or 12 page form I first recieved. Sometime later, I got a call from 'The U.S. Census Bureau'. She asked me a few questions like, my name, address, and etc. Then she got into the 'questions' and I told her things like; "You just asked me that and I didn't answer the first time!" "Are you with ACORN?". She finally told me that she didn't need to continue. I refused to tell her our house payments, income and things like that. I kept it to 'name, rank and serial number'! I recently got the 'real' census and it was nothing like the first one. Chuck
  21. What I want to know is... what was that census form we recieved back in October (2009) with all those repetitious questions and the big warning that not filling-out the form could mean a penalty for notfilling it out and filing it? I didn't fill it out and recieved a phone call from some census taker who wanted me to answer the questions over the phone. I gave her such a hard time, she finally realized how stupid the questions were and gave-up. Chuck
  22. Clem Cadiddlehopper I thought was funny. I was a kid when his show was on. My dad liked it... mom hated it! We have to remember, Red Skelton came-up through vaudville and that era. This country's thinking was nothing like today. They didn't have the internet or cell-phones. Beliefs were stronger and people worked hard, for a living. It was God, Mom and apple pie. He believed what he did and was, from all I've ever read about the man, good and compassionate. I found the video an interesting look-back. Chuck
  23. It was 1978 when I first made $19k. In 1978, I made $24,000.00... driving a truck. Chuck
  24. I too, have done business with J. Mike. He's a helluva good guy to do business with. His word is good as gold and he'll go out of his way to deal fairly. I highly recommend him... to anyone. Chuck
