There are those people who claim to feel no fear for this sport. Perhaps they don't. However they way we use the word fear is pretty fucked up. Look it up in the dictionary. In essence fear is a God given emotion that is our indicator that something ahead could do us harm....well that is every jump I do. I respect that it could kill me, so I fear it. Naturally. Once you accept that risk you owe it to yourself to enjoy the sport to the fullest....nothing worse than paying a big price for having a shitty time. Letting the fear paralyze you would be an extreme reaction...and one that would prevent enjoying the dive. I normally feel that fear once the door opens and right when I dump. Fear is a good thing, it keeps you from becoming a statistic. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

Helping low jump number skydivers
JJohnson replied to TribalTalon's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The Brits have very strange habits all around: They smoke fags, eat spotted dick and call fries chips. I can only assume the tomato sauce is Ketchup. But as they invented darts I can forgive the Brits about anything. Speaking of strange culinary habits, it finally became clear to me that most of the rest of the world puts ketchup on their hotdogs. Yet around Chicago even asking for ketchup is grounds for a lynching. JJ "Call me Darth Balls" -
What are your feelings for the Coach Program from USPA?
JJohnson replied to namdrib's topic in The Bonfire
Did you think the BIC was a better rating to hold? I thought the course was easier than than the Coach course. If you are going to have prereq rating to Tandem, SL or AFF do you think the BIC was better? If so, how? The only benefit I can see to the Coach program is to the DZ. Let a lesser rating holder deal with teaching new jumpers and general portions of the FJC, freeing up the AFF and Tandem instructors to bring in money. However I stand by the thought that we as jumpers should teach what we know freely to others. Nobody I know was born with 500 jumps. All I would ever ask in coaching would be for slot....unless the DZ objected. Also I am curious as to how much Coachs are really charging. I havn't seen anyone ask more than $10.00.....but then again I don't really pay much attention either. JJ "Call me Darth Balls" -

Yes I think that many things should be done/taught out of respect and kindness. However many things are taught incorrectly. I am amazed at how many things I re-learn, how many things I take for granted without knowing the facts behind them. I'm all for things being taught correctly and consistently as well. Some standardization is required. I don't begrudge some one charging for canopy classes, freefly coaching...what have you. So a coach teaches basic skills...hopefully according to set standards at a reasonable cost. JJ "Call me Darth Balls" -

You gotta love it when the women bails you out of potentially embarassing moments. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

I don't know where the last one was, but the Vegas shot was at the Luxor wasn't it? JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

I thought about video, so I could show my kid the day he was concieved. The "business room" is little more than a bathroom with a chair and a lame selection of magazines. My wife asked if we could get a VCR, I asked were we could hang the shackles. There is a little metal door to place your sample jar when you are done. However there was no sample jar in the room when we got there. My wife opened our side and knocked. The nurse expecting to see a jar waiting for her looked at my wife, "Can I help you?" My wife turned me and said, "A three way honey?" Instead of taking five minutes we took about half an hour and were not real quiet about it either. We kicked over a small table and a nurse asked through the door if everything was okay. I asked her if she just might happen to have a key for handcuffs. On the way out my wife asked with a completely straight face if saliva would affect the sample. I asked if there was a smoking lounge nearby. People in the waiting room were trying their best to keep straight faces. The parting shot my wife made was looking at me and asking loudly, " So are you here with anyone?" JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

Well at least you made the best of three choices. Sorry I missed the party though, was there random nudity too? JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

Hey you're paying for it, you should get all the satisfaction you can out of it. You should have seen what me and my wife did when I had to produce a sample for an invitro attempt. The nurses still laugh about it. Yes we are available for parties and meetings. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

Duh! White Castle Sliders go with anything...nothing wierd about that at all....unless you happen to be one of those freaks that don't do Sliders at all. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

Was it at least good beer? JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

Now that was a great insight....truly. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

And they are also doing a sequel of Ocean's 11....which I just cannot see. Another flick with too many stars and no plot. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

Gotta agree with you. Bill Murray is normally great in anything he does...but nothing ever happened in this movie. He did a great job of playing a bored lost guy in Japan....However I think I could have pulled that off. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

THe kid carried the flick, Burt was only along for the ride.....and since when did we start paying attention to critics reviews? JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

No, I'm sorry I have to ask....what ever would possess someone to mix that? Was that truly the only thing in the house? Were their large amounts of drugs and booze involved? Did Jannifer Aniston offer you gratuitous sex for eating that mixture? Pray tell us how that one came about. Truly the oddest combination I have heard yet? JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

Sounds like you haven't been up in the air for awhile. I can relate, my first jump in 8 months was last week. I need to get out to Elsinore, do some jumping and see my brother. Been too long. I miss his kids. More to your post though, what is the TV pilot and what does it have to do with jumping? JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

That may very well top the list....Didn't Burt Reynold attampt a cop movie with a small black kid....I remeber that being a pretty festering pile of dung. An old out of shape Burt, crammed into over tight blue jeans leaning on a small kid for comic relief. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

Most guys can go from in bed naked to fully clothed and out the window in 20 seconds....that includes buttons, bowties, shoe laces and wiping off lipstick. I fail to see how you couldn't apply lotion to all required areas in a whole two minutes. It must be a matter of proper motivation, something about the sound of shot gun being loaded that justs makes people move quickly.... JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

Yeah the simliarity did not escape me. Did you wash it down with a Pepsi Twist as well? JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

Cocktail and Maid, both very good choices. Give me examples of Moore's work. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

Who apllied the lotion there and yet missed your hind side. Who is this slacker cabanna boy you got. Good help is so hard to find. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
