  1. I have done most of my jumps at Skydive Dallas so I suppose you could argue that it's my favorite. I have a lot of friends there and it has a really big landing area with plenty of great choices for out's. It definitely has above average facility. The bunk rooms are clean and comfortable. Huge packing areas. Manifest is well run and efficient. But If I lived in the Houston area most of my jumps would be at Skydive Houston. If I lived in the Austin area most of my jumps would be at Skydive San Marcos. Each dropzone has it's own personality and I like each one for different reasons.
  2. If I were you I would PM Lazlo and be really nice and ask him where he gets his materials from. Maybe offer to buy him a beer?
  3. To be straight forward, I see that portable wind tunnel as pretty much a wuffo tunnel. I wouldn't spend my money on flying in that tunnel. I am more interested in working on VFS in one of the Skyventure tunnels that can handle freefly speeds with 4 flyers. Good luck
  4. It's a lot harder and takes a lot more time to pull down your slider past your toggles if they are not stowed. I have tried it before and decided that if I unstow my toggles first then I simply won't be pulling my slider past them and will just collapse it only. I have accidentally released a toggle while pulling the slider past it, but I was paying attention and realized what was happening and simply finished pulling the slider past the other toggle and and unstowed it right away to stop the spin. As stated by others this is not something for low time jumpers.
  5. I think you will be ok. I don't think brown is their color. So they will probably just send it back!
  6. What container did you have this issue with? Your profile says you have a Vector 3. I don't think the grommets are supposed to line up on the Vector 3 containers. I am pretty certain they are supposed to be offset.
  7. I once threw out my pilotchute while standing on the ground. I am fairly certain that's the lowest pull of anyone anywhere. HA top that!!!!!!
  8. Sounds like corking and that is not the right thing to do and will keep you out of any jumps that are more then two way. The only belly flying on freefly jump should be tracking and then deploying.
  9. He had to come out of the closet sometime.
  10. hmm boobies and beer, what was this thread about?
  11. Never pee into the wind Don't eat yellow snow
  12. Just a wild guess, but probably because someone thought it was a good idea.
  13. While I don't agree with it, I do understand what the author was trying to say. Watching someone go in, I think, changes your perspective on death. How often do people die kayaking? Is it comparable to skyiving?
  14. It really sounds like you should stick to the Sabre 2 in maybe a higher wing loading like a 135. The Stilletto and the Jedei are more aggressive canopies.
  15. Haven't seen any of that from you yet. Critical thinking is definitely not something you are good at.
  16. Well you have so far attempted to use very poor logic in place of actual evidence to support an ancient mythology. So no you haven't been doing well.
  17. And why would He create someone who would do nothing but spend his entire life being rebellious, arrogant, and ungrateful towards Him, hating and cursing Him with every breath? And yet, would die for that person anyway... Amazing! There is no evidence to support any of what you are saying, so no it's not amazing. It's just plain not remotely believable. On the other hand the theory evolution has a lot evidence to support it and it's constantly being tested and changed as new evidence is found.
  18. I just bought a new canopy and they don't come with a paper copy of the manual anymore. It's on a CD. So the PDF copy that I linked to is the same one that was on the CD.
  19. Here is the section I was referring to.
  20. This definitely helps promote heading, in general. If you read the manual that comes with any PD canopy, this is what they recommend. Where does it say that? I didn't find anything in their manual that refers to pulling in a track. In fact I have found the opposite on page six of their parachute manual. PD Parachute Manual http://www.performancedesigns.com/docs/MainUsersManual.pdf
  21. Since you are such a big fan of the Answers in Genesis website. Check out this one. http://www.noanswersingenesis.org.au/
  22. Yeah, it's unfortunate that logic and critical thinking is lost on them.
