Is there a connection between Islam, Judaism and Christianity
beowulf replied to BIGUN's topic in Speakers Corner
I think that means he gets extra tempura with his sushi! -
That's one of the most nonsensical statements I have read on this forum in a long time.
-
Did you do it with out any instruction or instructors to help you? If so then maybe it was easy for you.
-
Till we find a way to measure it then it can not be said conclusively to exist. If I say unicorns exist but can't show you any evidence then it would be unreasonable for you or I to believe they exist. Out of context. Can we keep the spin in it's proper orbit? The point was made in the context of Hawkings radiation. If you see/ measure a force, yet are unable to identify it, then to speculate that it is in the realm of the supernatural is not valid. You are not making any sense. If you are able to measure something and you are the first person to do so you can call it what ever you want. example >> Hawkings radiation That is identifying what you have measured!!

Bullshit, good and bad is relative to many different aspects of life. The cultural aspect being a big influence on what is right and wrong. You still haven't come up with a good argument for a "universal law" or any evidence to support your assertion.

Especially when there are people that actually enjoy torturing themselves and others!
-
I think you have failed to prove your argument.
-
I can't tell if you are serious or not. Just because something looks easy doesn't mean it is.
-
I think you are underestimating the amount of pain some people inflict upon themselves for entertainment purposes. They call it fun I call it torture.
-
How about choking someone till they pass out? I would consider that horrific. Some people think it's fun.
-
Not everyone reacts the same way. What I would consider torture some consider to be fun an example is sadomasochism. You're reasoning is flawed.

I have the Inverted Hybrid and am very happy with it. It's my second Vertical suit. I have found Vladi easy to talk to and he generally responds pretty quickly to emails. I would send him an email right away so that you can change it if needed.
-
I think you would need to ask Vladi about that. I have never seen his version of the RDS pocket, but as long as it doesn't open up and catch air it shouldn't be a problem. Otherwise it will be a big pain in the ass. Which suit is it? Inverted?

Three groups??! That's all?! Really!? -
I am very skeptical of that story also. If they don't know your skill level in the tunnel they are not going to take any chances. It's really easy to hurt yourself in the tunnel with it topped out if you don't have the skill.

So are you denying the irrational side of the human spirit, if you want to call it that? The side of humans that do not adhere to laws of logic or reason? I'm seriously asking, because it seems like you are, in order to scoff at the concept of spirituality as you do. Note: spirituality doesn't have to mean "believe in god". Hell, I would consider a majority of the field of psychology to be dwelling on spirituality *sigh* this is what I do when my pastime is unavailable...i get into pointless discussions on SC. As for the original topic, of course there is. All you have to do is read the bible, or even a second-source book discussing the history of the Middle East region, to know. I mean, aside from all three springing from the same dude. Allah, Jehovah, and the Christian God are, of course, one and the same. Yes, I am Christian. I am an engineer with the ability and training to think logically and rationally. I do not believe these things are mutually exclusive, and I do believe there is no conflict between religion and science. Rather, the conflict is between small-minded people unwilling to use the rational brain given to us by God. On both sides. Bikerbabe, You seem to be saying that since humans have an irrational emotional side that spirtualism is real. That doesn't make any sense. Just because humans are often emotiona and irrational doesn't mean their irrational and emotional beliefs are real. Faith is an irrational and emotional belief in something that is often not based on any evidence at all. There is no logical reason to believe there is any god or that spirtualism is real. Just because people believe in it doesn't mean it exists. I really don't see how any logically thinking person can reconcile the belief in the supernatural. Whether that be a belief in god or just spiritualism either way it's an emotional belief not based in reality. -
I was thinking the same thing also!!

It's pretty much the same thing. Just a matter of degree of lowering the standard. -

While favoritism or racism might have had some influence on giving out loans, I don't think it was overwhelming. It certainly didn't warrant pushing banks to make bad loans that they normally would not make. Over all the minoritys ended up suffering more due to these bad loans. Having a house a short period of time till they can't pay the mortgage isn't better then not having owned a home at all. -
