That is good to know. I also use Backup Exec. Did you try reinstalling Backup Exec?

I didn't mean to imply that SP2 was all bad. It's good for home users, but not so friendly for IT people that would want to deploy it to a large number of users. If it "breaks" company software then it means alot of work for me.
-
read ealier that it has their firewall enabled by default. That would block several ports that are needed for company use. This would be a pain in the ass to have to deal with. I would either have to touch each computer myself to disable it or send out instructions that half of the users would not be able to follow. If it blocked the port that Lotus Notes uses then I would be forced to have to touch each computer myself. Not something I would really want to do.

Has anyone started any testing on SP2? If so any initial problems or comments? I don't have a copy of it yet. So far I haven't heard anything good.

Anyone want to help defend the (relative) safety of our sport?

I was meaning that there will come a jump that a mistake will be made and things will get really tight. It is how you deal with those tough situations that will decide your fate. I don't think I will die skydiving. At least I don't plan on that. I plan on being an old SOB one day. Spoiling grand kids hopefully. Mistakes will happen. The only thing that can be done is to try to minimize the amount and severity of the mistakes. That is true in everything. -
On my first jump after AFF I just absolutely savored the feeling of being by myself and totally under my own supervision and not having to remember anything. Just enjoy your next jump.

Who knows? It doesn't have any effect on me. So they wasted their money on that ad as far as I am concerned.

No Time Outs either. Once you step out there is no going back. That is why the saying 'Rather be on the ground wishing I were in the air then in the air wishing I was on the ground' is relevant. Sooner or later the more you jump you will wish you were on the ground instead of in the air. Mistakes happen no matter how meticulous you are. It's how you react to a bad situation that will keep you alive. Sometimes that isn't enough. Shit happens. I don't want to die any more then the next person. I just accept my mortality and refuse to let it interfere with my enjoyment of life. To me the risk is worth the rewards. Nothing good comes with out risk of some kind. -

There are a lot of dumbass people driving cars. Imagine them under a parachute. I still think the ratio wouldn't be that close. Most of the time the point of that arguement is to show how safe skydiving is. -

I think that comparisons like that just encourage complacency. Nearly everyone drives a car. If nearly everyone skydived I don't think the fatality ratio would be that close. -

I think skydivers often get complacent and don't really think about the actual risks involved or don't even consider them as risks. I know that I have to watch myself for this. Complacency kills! The comments like 'skydiving is safer then driving' lead me to believe that the person is complacent and trying to brush off the actual risk involved in skydiving. -
That is an excellent documentary. It is very informative and shows skydiving in a good light.

"Spandex, it's a privlege not a right." What movie is that quote from? just thought it was relevant

it would be a good idea to setup MAC list access. So that it forces anyone trying to get access to your wireless to have to spoof your MAC address.

I watched part of it and turned the channel. MM was being a dumbass and not acknowledging any arguments but his own. He never answered the question. Very childish.

i STILL don't understand why people detest Michael Moore

It's all true the facts are right there. He actually said those things. Just not in that order. -

It is too diffucult to believe anything he says in his movies. He intentionally uses editing to misdirect people into believing that someone said something or did something the didn't say or do. He takes facts and showcases them in a way that makes them look entirely different. The facts may be true, but the presentation of them makes them look entirely different. -
I must be lucky. Most of the people in my office don't say much about me skydiving and those that do usually ask when the last time I jumped and how many. They seem to be fascinated by it. Just not enough to try it.

Who's the most bias partisan America TV media source

How about WGN? They have a nightly news. -
The Isreali/Palestinian conflict is just a bad situation that will never get any better. The wall is just physical proof of this. Neither side is willing to do what it takes for peace.

I was talking to someone over the weekend that had a malfunction right out the door. By the time she reached 4,000 ft the malfunction was cleared and she landed fine. That is a long time to be working on clearing a malfunction.
