yeah!!? so what! Do you think we should over throw their gov because they are not a democracy?
-
Once a year on safety weekend at Skydive Dallas they do the hanging harness cut away. I occaisonally will pull my reserve when handing it over to my rigger for repack.

Nice try, but not the same thing. If it were a neighbor then we would both be under the same laws. This topic is about a different country. We don't want their laws and they don't want our laws. Who are we to decide for them what laws they should be governed by.
-
If that's the way the want their country to be, that is their problem. I am not interested in trying to change people who don't want to change. I am just glad that I don't live there.

That was an interesting sales pitch. I had a life flight ride once, but didn't get a t shirt just got the bill instead. Hmm maybe I should call them up and ask for the t shirt. NOT

GRAVITY RAT EVOLUTION: November 9-11, 2007

Thank you, and Bryan and everyone else that helped put this boogie together. I had a great time and some great jumps. It was well worth the trip. I can't wait till the next one. -
Fibula, femur, or fatality (105 elliptical 1.3 PSF 127 jumps)

The act of learning is about making mistakes and/or learning from mistakes of others. If you really want to be a great canopy pilot you will make mistakes. It's better to make the mistakes under a big canopy then it is to make them under a small canopy and everyone makes mistakes. -
It looks fake.

Fibula, femur, or fatality (105 elliptical 1.3 PSF 127 jumps)
beowulf replied to DrewEckhardt's topic in Safety and Training
Me Fact is, there are no actual data to show that early downsizing leads to shorter life expectancy than that of any other skydiver jumping a highly loaded canopy. Having thousands of jumps does not guarantee a successful outcome to a swoop, as we all have seen recently. So do you think anyone at any level of skill or jump numbers should be able to jump whatever canopy they choose regardless of how small it is? -
My first canopy was PD 9-cell 150. Is that close enough? I have one jump on a PDR 143 And a few jumps on a Lightning 143.

umm she made a statement and you essentially told her it wasn't true. While you didn't directly call her a liar you implied it. Which in my book is the same thing as calling her a liar.
-
I don't think so. Any manufacturer would want to get their R&D money/investment back... Wow, what rude statement to a PD representative. You just called her a liar.

Of course you can die under any size canopy, it's just takes a lot more effort under a bigger canopy. If you can't land a bigger canopy very well then you need to continue jumping it till you can. Getting a smaller canopy only narrows your margin of error. If you have good canopy piloting skills then a bigger canopy should be easier to land then a smaller one. -
I think that he has a problem with the fact that they accept skyride tickets. Plus it's just a tandem mill operation..not really lots of fun jumpers.. two or three teams train there and tandem mill... that's about it... It is not a tandem mill. I don't have any trouble finding people to jump with or getting on a load. At the most there are maybe 4 tandems on an Otter load. Get your fact straight before you talk shit.
-
Get canopy coaching. You don't have to have a fast canopy to get a good or better flare. I have heard other people say they downsized so they could have a canopy that is easier to land. That just tells me they don't know how to land their canopy to begin with and need to spend more time on their slower canopy. I don't think you have increased any safety aspect by down sizing and going to a higher performance canopy.

I think even more Japanese would have died had the war continued to an invasion of mainland Japan.

Yeah bottom line don't point a gun at something you are not willing to shoot. -

I disagree. If she had and shot the SOB it would good riddence to trash. On the other hand it is likely that all she would have had to do is display the hand gun and the rapist would most likely have changed his mind and backed off. No one really wants to get shot. -

no the "official" word is held. Unofficially they beat the shit out of him while waiting for the cops. Good for them to stop and do something. -
It hooks up through the USB cable

I have Verizon for my work cell phone and they provide software for the tethering. It also cost the company an extra $15 per month for the tethering. Talk to your cell phone provider about tethering.
-
I have a Blackberry for work and it can be "tethered" to a laptop. What that means is that I can hook my Blackberry up to my laptop and use it just like a "data card". But it is an added cost to the phone service and you can not talk on the phone and have it tethered to your laptop at the same time. The 40mb per month is how much data you can download in a month before it costs you more money on your cell phone bill just like minutes.
-
The wireless internet cards for your computer work on the same network that cell phones do. They are just for data only, that includes text messaging. I personally don't have the service, but some of our salesmen have it and they are very happy with it.
-
REALLY! Does that include murder? Hey like others have said don't do the crime if you can't do the time.
