From what I was told, this guy was pretty embarassed. It didn't help that there was what looked like two entire fire depts, helicopter and traffic stopped both ways. I was entertained and I was looking at it from the the jump plane.
-
That is unlikely. I wouldn't jump with two low timers together as it would increase the number of things that can go wrong to a level I would not be comfortable with. It's hard enough to concentrate on one person much less two on the same jump. BTW, I umm only think in terms of Freeflying. I wouldn't jump with two people wanting to learn to sitfly or two people wanting to learn head down flying.

Too much money tied up in oil too many big businesses are dependent on oil. Money runs this country. I don't think it really matters who is President. The big pockets are really what run this country.
-
I think your propostion is just a pipe dream and would never happen. Western economies are too tied up in oil products, of which gasoline is a small part.

either way we are still paying for the troops.

Yeah the beer scene in the US has vastly improved. Huge variety, more then anywhere else.

My personal favorite is Chet Poland's prediction.

This really shows your inexperience. 2 jumps with a camera and you say "it's not so bad" yet others with thousands of jumps look back at having started jumping camera as early as you and say it was a mistake. hmm maybe you should reread what you wrote about the 10,000 jumps.

I didn't mean to imply that it was acceptable. It just would make it a little bit easier to swallow.
-
Is it 60 jumps and no tunnel time?

sounds like the lawyers all 'won'. They got paid.

And what's that reason? Just a guess. To make themselves feel better.

There have been many people that have attempted to forcast the end of the world and have failed. His forecast doesn't have anything anymore convincing then any of the others and as far as I can tell he is the only person the believes it.

Right, it was just TOO important for me to search for and get the facts rights. I just waiting to see how he recants his statements. I am hoping he really uses his imagination well and doesn't give some lame excuse.

Then it's the end of the world according to Chuteless

So what if they act like skygods. I just ignore those people and continue on doing what I am doing. My thing is VRW 4 way. I don't care about atmonauti enough to get upset about a bunch of people being all snobby about it.

You make it sound like a religion. It's just another way to have fun. Who cares if someone says the "invented" it and others agree with them. It's not like they are trying to charge people money to do it.

I use an Optima for an audible and a Neptune for visual altimeter. I have been happy with both.

ACTUAL: Jump numbers before flying a Camera
beowulf replied to bomb420's topic in Photography and Video
I started jumping a video camera at a little over 400 jumps. My first jump I got very poor video. I wasn't even trying to get good video. I was just trying to get used to having the camera on my head. For the next 200 to 300 jumps I was just doing POV freefly jumps. The camera really helped my freeflying. After every weekend I would review my footage to critic my freeflying. I then started filling in for video on a freefly team. That really improved my freefly skills. The next year I started looking to get on a team and ended up videoing a VRW 4 way team. While my video isn't perfect, it has improved a lot. I think I started at a decent number of jumps and didn't really push my luck too much. I don't have any horror stories related to jumping video. I guess I did something right. Oh yea, I have only one video of a tandem and that was only because I was lurking a friends tandem. I really have no interest in doing tandem or AFF video. I skydive to have fun NOT work. -
Yes, and I have never denied that. Many of you (in your gotta control modes) just assumed something I never said. No one on this thread has even suggested that anything more than the above be taught in sex-ed. If you agree with the above, then what the hell is it about sex-ed that's been making you so angry? I am angry? You all got to stop thinking you know it all You seem to be oblivous to how your posts are coming across. By reading your posts in this thread it appears that you are very upset and angry and I am not the only one that is getting that vibe from your posts.

My Skydiving Goals for 2008 at least 300 jumps for the year. Make most of them team training jumps do better at Nationals then last year. be on the next texas state freefly record again overall just improve my freefly skills get more tunnel time.

No, and I don't think it would be a good idea to admit to it on a public forum.

lol your posts are pretty funny. Very defensive. If you read what I wrote I specifically stated that I was basing my opinion on what you wrote. I never said I knew you.

I'll disagree. You need to make the 'active' response be on the responsible parents. The irresponsible just won't do anything no matter what. And making it an elective would result in making it a class that 'costs' extra. Maybe correct in principle, but it doesn't help the kids that would need it for the same reason - parents that don't care enough to sign up for it sure wouldn't do it if they had to pay. As always, those that are responsible will always pay for those that aren't. The schools only need to be VERY clear to all the parents what the content of such a class includes. I see most objections from parents who work with schools that take a presumptive stance on the issue. Rightly so. Or, forced sterilization of irresponsible parents and retroactive abortion of kids up through the 200th month of kids of same would also work. You want me to by default give up my rights. You do not have the right to deprive your kids of sex education. And you do not have any rights to teach my kid a dam thing about sex that I dont approve of. You insinuation is just plain stupid I find your posts pretty amusing. You seem to be one of those people with a severe case of false sense of control over your kids. You kids will learn lots of things with out your consent and unless you as a parent take a very active role in their lives they will learn many things you don't want them to learn. The taking an active role is what makes a responsible parent responsible, to what degree is up to you as a parent. If you don't like what public schools teach then don't send your kids to public schools.
