Not necessarily. Brittany Spears made a lot of money. So did "New Kids On The Block", Milly Vanilly, etc. So did Ashlee Simpson. She got a "Billboard Award" for Christs' sake. But, I'm just talking out of my ass. Like whatcha like. It's all good. "Get these balls!"

Was just answering a question. "So what" is what it is. And there ya have it. "Get these balls!"

The music is over-produced. "Three Days Grace" has more studio production than Arizona has Meth Labs. And that's a WHOLE LOT!!!!! "Get these balls!"

Yeah, John is a good guy. I grew up not too far from Bakersfield. I seem to associate more with his ideology than anyones, as far as writing goes. Don't wanna talk about politics.... don't give a f*** about politics. Politicians START wars, and expect the REST of us to fight them, FOR them. F*** that. Pre-emptive attack my ass. But, getting back to the subject, I saw you like Three days Grace, God, that's one of the three bands I hate, and here they are: 1) Three Days Grace 2) Staind 3) Any of this other so-called "socailly acceptable" rock-and-roll. Why? Because it's a perversion of what rock and roll is all about. "Oh, w've been BAD, but we want to be GOOD". Yeah yeah, the devil made me do it..... No place in rock and roll for that crap. Keep that in the pews, and sell it to people that want to hear it. More social readjustment to the poor, because the poor can't afford Sirius, and HAVE to listen to that garbage. And the new Metallica abum? I've shit better turds than that. With more talent. And I've FLUSHED them. Who was stupid enough to sign that old, worn out, regurgitated, "We've been rehabilitated", ex-metal band???? "Get these balls!"

But I also REALLY like Slipknot, Stone Sour, (so does that count if they have the same singer / guitarist?) and Limp Bizkit (I know, Fred Durst is a prick, but that's what I like about them.) Damn, three? That's it? How about ANYTHING THAT ROCKS. (And doesn't wear cowboy boots and a belt buckle that you could eat off of, and further excluding Elvis, The stupid Beatles (first boy-band to suck ass, ever) and anything involving fat chicks singing like they just got cornholed.) "Get these balls!"

That's a hard question, but KORN, Sevendust, then Opeth. Opeth WOULD be first, but Goddamn, the 15-minute songs.......... However, "Blackwater ParK", the live version, is the BEST song I've ever heard, live. "Get these balls!"

Yeah, sometimes you have to visit different DZs to get what you need. My home DZ is Skydive Virginia! here in my hometown, but I had to go to Raeford Parachute Center in NC to get the level of progression that I felt I was ready for. I'm the type that needs CONSTANT challenge to progress, and I got it, there. They have a tunnel within 3 minutes, and boy howdy does that lend a hand with solo progression. By the end of my 40 minutes, I was pulling off (well, sloppily) 4-ways with my coaches. Not that there's anything wrong with the way they progress at my home DZ, but I felt like I had to LIVE skydiving for a few days to get the fundamentals drilled into my head, and it worked. With 8 completed jumps, my instructors said that I'm already freefalling at the level of an advanced "A" licensed guy. So yeah, maybe you just need some tunnel time to get comfortable with flying your OWN body? "Get these balls!"

What the hell, I'll play. http://www.myspace.com/whileyougooglelife Since you are a skydiver, you're welcome. New video coming Sunday, as well. Gonna rock some more backflips. Maybe a triple? Even though I leared some backflying while in the tunnel, I don't think I'm up to that level in the air yet. "Get these balls!"

Good deal, man. Keep with it. I have one AFF jump left, and outside of Skydiving, I'm a Systems Engineer and professional beer drinker. Who could ask for more? "Get these balls!"

hey everyone, getting ready to start AFF
LOSTandCRAZY replied to flyapitts's topic in Introductions and Greets
Good for you! I've got one AFF jump left, and am loving it. Even though I may have fracturd my coccyx (ass bone) sliding in on a landing, I'm ready to go again next weekend and finish up. ONE AFF JUMP LEFT!!!!!!! WOOOOOOO HAAAAAAAAA! "Get these balls!" -
CISSP? I doubt it, requires MANY years actually IN the biz. "Requirements Candidates for the CISSP must meet several requirements: Possess a minimum of five years of direct full-time security work experience in two or more of the ten ISC2 information security domains (CBK). One year may be waived for having either a four-year college degree, a Master's degree in Information Security, or for possessing one of a number of other certifications from other organizations[8]. Attest to the truth of their assertions regarding professional experience and accept the CISSP Code of Ethics.[9]. Answer four questions regarding criminal history and related background.[10] Pass the CISSP exam with a scaled score of 700 points or greater. The exam is multiple choice, consisting of 250 questions with four options each, to be answered over a period of six hours.[10] Have their qualifications endorsed by another (ISC)² certified professional in good standing. The endorser attests that the candidate's assertions regarding professional experience are true to the best of their knowledge, and that the candidate is in good standing within the information security industry." Your mama. You're not a hacker, just a kiddie. Script kiddie at that. Skydiving? That's for grown folks. Stick to X-box. How do I know? 13.5 years IN the biz. Been there, done that, now I'm bored, so I skydive. I may be a noob at skydiving, with 9 jumps, but the InfoSec field? Please...... not so much. The GOVERNMENT wishes that they knew what I know....... Again, being the responsible adult here, and the same thing I tell my kids: Wait until you're 18, and can make your own decisions, responsibly. If you're allowed to make your "own" decisions BEFORE that age? Or are emancipated? BAD PARENTS. BAD, BAD, BAD. Because you have to live with the responsibilites of adulthood, and the consequences of such, while you may NOT be equipped. You may just fuck up someone ELSE'S life besides your own. Ask ME how I know. This is skydiving, where other people are in the air, too, and you have to watch out for them, and sometimes, may have to make VERY HARD downwind landings (hurting yourself in the process) to avoid someone who's not looking out, just to save you both. Are you mature enough to worry about the lives of others, and put them before your personal safety? I doubt it. Yeah, it's like that. That's life. Legs heal, a bruised ass hurts for a week or two. But a canopy collision at 500 ft? Are you ready for that? Sorry to call you out, bro, but I'm a grown man, and I may just save your life. Or at the VERY least, prevent you from fucking it up, or not having one at all. And possibly taking someone ELSE'S in the process. That being said: Skydiving RULES! WOOOOOOOOOO HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But you, my friend, need to wait a while, in my opinion. "Get these balls!"

Got a few jumps in at Raeford, cleared to E-3. Solo exits, diving exits, barrel rolls, backflips, and 40 minutes of tunnel time.... Had one hard opening and some nice line twists, cleared those, one unstable exit (with instructor) got right on that, and severely bruised my ass sliding in once, but kept jumping. (Had to, hurt too much to sit down)......... Also had my first PLF, and whaddayaknow, the training works. Saved my ass from getting MORE bruised, and PLFs definately don't hurt as much. Got yelled at for breaking landing pattern to hit my target (yeah, I may have been a little too aggressive, but everyone else was down while I was still at 1000, and I got within 6 inches of the target, but never-the-less, lesson learned). Bonehead move. Need to remember PATTERN DISCIPLINE. I felt like an idiot, but that's why it's called "learning"..... Other than some newbie errors, great weekend. Everyone at Raeford Parachute Center is AWESOME, and thanks for all of the support out there. Great coaches, great instructors, good crowd, everyone is super-supportive, and especially thanks to Tony, the owner. That guy is a REAL class act. Shouts out to Navy Special Ops, The US Army Golden Knight guys that I got to jump with, and everyone else that shared a bench on the PAC with me. Thanks for all of the input, as well. Helped me out a LOT. Respect! "WOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Blue skies, everyone. I hope to enjoy this for MANY, MANY years. "Get these balls!"

I'll be finishing up my "A" around Christmas, but I did a SMART thing. I went to Dick's and bought some NICE THERMALS, and some North Face Gloves (no grips, grips can mess with your ability to remove your hands from the toggles) These are what mountain climbers use, so you can stay nice and toasty when you're free-falling. "Get these balls!"

Good deal, man. Hate to miss you on this one. Two Milestones coming up, the release jump, and the solo. Maybe next time! "Get these balls!"

Yup, he's hooked. "Get these balls!"

Since Raeford doesn't use Tandem progression, I doubt it. Even though the tandems I have are in my logbook (and I have three of those) the only thing Raeford will count will be my Cat "A" and "B" jumps. Don't rush yourself in this sport, let the instructors progress you. That being said: The canopy flow I followed in my last jump were Cat "H" flows. No radio. Had to do front riser turns, and rear riser flares. Was going to practice flaring with one toggle and a rear riser, but I ran out of altitude for that one. Too many 720's with the right front riser, lol. God, that is the most fun....... Plus, we planned my landing pattern, and I executed it as I was instructed. Found my way to the point I needed to be at the 1000' mark, the rest was easy. Simple physics once you calculate the descent rate using your altimeter. I flew a 240, down from a 260 as well, this time. A little faster, but still, predictable. I also had traffic to MY direct 6:00 (meaning, directly below me) so I adjusted at 400' to her starboard, and watched her land, so at 200, I was clear. I stuck my Cat "A" and "B" landings, as well. To me, the canopy part is the easiest, I guess, having flown small planes and having a dad that's a pilot, I already understand wind direction vs. landing pattern, and so forth. What I need to work on is my freefall, I want to progress faster. But, that's what the tunnel is for. I may see you next weekend, if not, BLUE SKIES!!!!!!!!! (WOO HAAA!!) "Get these balls!"
-
Try not to run into me too hard. I don't think I could PLF that. "Get these balls!"

US Army, eh? My stepdad is a retired Major, helo pilot, 4 tours Nam, 2 in Korea. Black Horse. Last week my jumpmasters were Sergeant Harry Parrish, and his Colonel from the Screaming Eagles Special Ops, from Ft. Campbell. Nice guys. If you're at Raeford this weekend, I'll buy you a beer. Or six. I won't be hard to find, my "WOO HAAA"s are audible from +5000 ft. The weather looks perfect, raining Friday (Tunnel day) then mostly clear Sat and clear ALL DAY Sunday. Cleared for Cat "C" last weekend, so that leaves me 6 jumps to go. Should be done Sunday, if the weather holds. "Get these balls!"
-
I will be in Raeford this weekend as well. Tunnel Friday, finishing AFF on Saturday and Sunday. I have 5 jumps already, my goal is to be "A" licensed by Christmas. I'll be the old fat guy screaming "WOOOOO HAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!" all the time. You've not only picked the best sport, but you've picked the sport that eats other sports for BREAKFAST! "Get these balls!"

It's true, I'm prone to bouts of extreme loudness when I get the feeling that I'm about to do something great. This is the greatest thing in the world to me, I haven't failed a jump yet, and am headed off to Raeford, NC next weekend to finish AFF, and have 20 minutes of tunnel time at "ParacleteXP" built in to the deal. My goal was to have my "A" license by Christmas, and it looks like I am DEFINATELY going to make it! So HEEEEEEEEERE GOES!!!!!!!:::::: WOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! "Get these balls!"
-
That's what I thought. I've now talked to probably a hundred skydivers, in person, mind you, and they all confirm what I was thinking the WHOLE TIME........ WE may get old, but SKYDIVING NEVER GETS OLD! WOOOOO HAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! (And it has been confirmed, by MANY, that my "woooo haaaaaaaa"s are audible from 5000 ft. ! Of course, it is usually stated more as "Who was that IDIOT hollering "WOOOO HAAAA"? I heard that from when they popped at 5000!) "Get these balls!"
-
YEAH BABY! Knocked out the 5th jump of my career today, and landed the canopy unasssisted!!!!!!! WHOA!!!!! Still within 100M of the pebble pit, even with traffic avoidance!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Is it just me, or is THIS WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT!?!?!?!?!?!? Hells yeah! "Get these balls!"
-
[Dude.... you might have some personal issues that skydiving might not solve ] Undeniably, hence the nick!!!! [Just how old are you?] Old enough to have conquered the mid-life crisis! "Get these balls!"
-
Yeah, see? You first said that you didn't feel ANYTHING. Now it appears that it's all that you think about. Fucking A, man, do some shit. DO IT. You get ONE life. Quit feeling guilty that you've found something that makes you feel good. Hell, my WIFE can't make me feel this good. And SHE'S PISSED. Sure it's risky, sure, you COULD DIE. But you could do that sitting in a cube, working for the MAN (and the MAN is a prick, I know.... I've seen 'em carry the heart-attack victims off from work. Not pretty. Cube jockeys dying at WORK. Not how I choose to go.) Man, you are just BEGINNING to understand freedom. Freedom from bullshit, freedom from the wife, freedom from the kids, freedom from the everyday, freedom from the ordinary, freedom THAT MADE THIS COUNTRY GREAT!!!!!!! TRUE FREEDOM! A great man once said to me: "Live FREE or DIE!" That's the word, my man. "We're never gonna survive, unless we get a little CRAZY". Fuck fear, that's what kills you. Fear of not paying the bills, fear of losing the job, fear of the recession, fear of the housing crisis, all of that CNN-made hysteria, and other assorted man-made dilemna. FUCK ALL OF IT. Living does not kill you. Living means that you HAVE lived. Living means that you WILL live. Living means that you look death in the face, and you tell him, right in his face, "FUCK YOU." Living means that you have lived, not that you won't live. And the very fact that you've been GIVEN life DEMANDS it. So do it. LIVE. "Get these balls!"

First jump impressions - am I normal?
LOSTandCRAZY replied to NotBond's topic in Introductions and Greets
I can honestly say my first tandem jump was the single most exciting thing I have EVER done. The first AFF was very close to that as well. I was the same way the first time the door opened, all I remember thinking was "HOLY SH*T!!!" No nausea, just pure adrenalin, after that pure rush. But also, at the same time, it was like the ultimate clarity. I found that I could think VERY clearly, and nail every task in the dive flow. Hyper- awareness. Now, for me, the adrenaline starts as soon as I land. When I'm in the air, all I'm thinking about is execution, and find myself always ready to cut-away if the need be. I also review the dive flow in my head on the way up, and from 7500 ft to 14,500, I'm meditating, clearing EVERYTHING from my head. Every time I jump, it feels like I've accomplished the impossible. I still get chills every time I think about skydiving. Every time I hear a King Air flying over, I find myself walking the landing pattern. And I find that this is what I was looking for my WHOLE LIFE........ There used to be a big void, like something was missing. Not these days. Not anymore. SKYDIVE to LIVE! LIVE to SKYDIVE! "Get these balls!"
