In that particular moment... I think that's the bit that worries me the most. If whipping his dick out on stage would get him instantaneous massive applause he'd do it and then deal with the consequences later. I agree mostly, but I don't think he understands the concept of "consequences" "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." No. That's the "Pledge of Allegiance." And the "under God" part was NOT part of the original version. It was added in the 1950s, during the McCarthy era, when we were terrified of the 'Godless Communists." "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." The problem is Trump himself. His entire behavior set is juvenile. Not just the responses to unfair criticism (and there is some of that), but in everything. From his behavior towards women, his disdain of any negative press as "fake news", his complete lack of understanding of foreign affairs to his insistence on being the 'best' at everything (the fake Time cover is a good example) to his lack of concern or respect for anyone else (the 'golf cart across the green' incident is a good example). He is, for all intents and purposes, the equivalent of a 5 year old. His life of privilege has constantly taught him that he is the best, he deserves anything he wants and he can do anything he wants. He won't keep promises, he won't consider the effect of his decisions on anyone but himself, he simply doesn't think about it. He will say and do anything he thinks will get him what he wants. None of these are good qualities for a president. He is totally unfit for the job. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." lol I think that it's a derogatory term used by the denier crowd to indicate that anyone who claims the "97% consensus" is just baiting them. 'Cuz they've proven* that the 97% claim is not true. *"Proven" in this case meaning "I don't like it so it can't be true." "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Gunman fires on Alexandria park during GOP baseball practice

And, not terribly surprisingly, the video was created by an anti-semite Reddit poster known as "HanAssholeSolo". The reporter who exposed that little fact has been inundated with death threats. Also, not terribly surprising. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Lucky McSwervy "~ya don't GET old by being weak & stupid!" - Airtwardo -
Well, yeah. The beaches are closed to the public. You know, the taxpayers. The "little people." Christie's response? And when a spokesman was asked if Christie enjoyed getting some sun, the response was: What a fucknugget. Not that that's a revelation of any sort. A couple points: You are still brand new. Everybody says they are in it for the long haul. Not everyone is. What are your long term goals? Some people want to fly the fastest, most responsive canopy they can. Others simply want to get down safely and easily. I'm about your size (155lbs out of the shower) and I jumped a 190 for a long time. I'm currently on a 170 and have no plans to downsize any further. Others have a different path. While you can fit several sizes of canopy in a given rig, there's really only one size that fits best. Overstuffing puts a lot of strain on seams, grommets and stiffeners and is a pain to pack. "Understuffing" isn't the best practice either. How are your landings? Getting a "nice shiny new rig" all dirty and scuffed up is depressing. Taking that "learning" wear and tear out on a used rig is a much better choice. When comparing cost, make sure you are comparing "apples to apples." Used (complete w/AAD) should run from somewhere below $3k on up. You can get an older (but still airworthy) rig for less than that. It may not be freefly friendly, and it won't have all the bells and whistles, but it will do the job for a while. Just like a car, the big depreciation comes in the very beginning. Your money, your choice, but you may notice that just about everyone is suggesting used instead of new. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Well, apparently we already have a colony on Mars. And how it's going to be governed is very simple. It's populated by children. Who were kidnapped. Not terribly surprising, the idiot propagating this was on InfoWars. And, of course, NASA denies it. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." What's that supposed to mean? YOU are the one who claimed he "has a plan". He had a "secret plan" to defeat ISIS in 30 days. What happened to that? You are also the one who claimed that the juvenile, idiotic insults are "playing hardball." His minions can't even answer hard questions. They've even reached the point where they don't want to be recorded because they contradict themselves every day. Every criticism is "fake news". Yet when called on it, you say "End of discussion." BillyVance's "You Can't Make This Up" News Stories Thread
wolfriverjoe replied to BillyVance's topic in The Bonfire
Well, These Idiots made the rather unsurprising discovery that a book isn't bulletproof. Unfortunately, the guy was holding the book in front of his chest at the time. And is now dead. And the girl is facing homicide charges. It could be a Darwin Award, but they already have one kid together and she's pregnant with another. So he's already reproduced. Couple of thoughts: MythBusters did this one a while back. While there are anecdotal examples of books stopping bullets, it's usually a "stray bullet" type of situation (gun fired a long way off and much of the velocity and energy have dissipated). She used a Desert Eagle .50 cal. One of the more powerful cartridges out there. I have personally witnessed one of these go through about 18" of wet newspaper at 50 yards in a controlled test situation. Guy had one and wanted to see how powerful it was, and how the bullets would expand. So he built a trough and had wet newspapers in plastic grocery bags. Rather impressive. The idea that a book a few inches thick would stop one of these is ludicrous. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Someone seems to have an issue with the ten commandments
wolfriverjoe replied to gowlerk's topic in Speakers Corner
Kinda funny how he picks and chooses which of the real "seven deadly sins" to include on his list. I would equate "covetousness" with envy. So he only has 6. Which one is he missing? Bill actually only listed six anyway (there are not seven listed here). Covetousness is also known as Greed. The one missing is Gluttony. Which I think was Bill's point considering the description of the protester! Oops. I can't count. I equated covetousness with envy. But looking it up, I see you are right (somehow the "you being right" part doesn't surprise me ). I was thinking he got two at once, and completely missed the fact that "greed" wasn't there. And I fully realized that "gluttony" was missing, and that it was Bill's point. We really need a sarcasm font. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Someone seems to have an issue with the ten commandments

One of my favorite protesters I've ever seen was at an Earth Day one year. He was morbidly obese - one of those guys who needed special stores for his clothing and was a few months away from permanent scooter status. He had a sandwich board on that proclaimed the evils of Obama and all the liberals, and proclaimed that their evil was manifested by their commission of the seven deadly sins, which he listed: Pride Covetousness Lust Anger Envy Sloth I took a picture of him; I wish I could find it. Kinda funny how he picks and chooses which of the real "seven deadly sins" to include on his list. I would equate "covetousness" with envy. So he only has 6. Which one is he missing? Hmmm... I don't know about Islamic, but how about Satanic? Most courts have found that if one is allowed, all must be allowed. There was a bit of a kerfuffle about holiday decorations a few years back, here in Wisconsin. While a variety of religious groups were allowed to put up a display in the Capitol rotunda, when the Freedom From Religion group put up a banner that read "Church and State - Keep Them Separate", the governor had it removed, claiming it made it look like a "hockey rink". So, after a bit of debate, argument and lawyer fees, it was decided that everyone's beliefs (or lack thereof) are to be respected. Including Pasatfarians and Seinfeld fans. You'll put your eye out (apparently some kid lost an eye to one of these). And I agree, make one. Spring, string, stock and release mechanism of some sort. Edit to add: Google "Toothpick crossbow plans build": https://www.google.com/search?q=crossbow+plans+build&rlz=1C1TSNO_enUS478US478&oq=Crossbow+plans&aqs=chrome.5.69i57j0l5.8361j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#q=toothpick+crossbow+plans+build All sorts of info, including (of course) a "How to" YouTube video. And that may happen. I'm guessing there are other Senators who have not spoken out publicly but have privately put out discouraging words. It's very hard to face voters after making health insurance for sick people either very expensive or out of the question. And Senators represent States. Capping Medicaid is really off loading the burden to the States. Forcing them to make unpopular decisions. But still, the allure of being able to finally say the ACA has been killed is very strong on the right. Don't be so sure. While Trump claimed he was going to change how Washington was run, there are still some very entrenched institutions. One of them is AARP. They have a lot of clout, because they have a lot of members who vote. Get them mad and whoever opposes them may well not be in office after the next election. Somewhat similar to the NRA. And the AARP does not like the AHA. Edit for typo and format error. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." An interesting bit of analysis popped up on my FB feed. I have no clue how accurate it is, but there's an article on the Daily Kos that has about the same stats. I'm going to guess that most of those planning it are presuming that the "right people" will be chosen. And I will guess that it will be run along the lines of an old time ship at sea (which actually makes a pretty good analogy if you think about it). Captain and senior officers are in charge. Absolute charge. Anyone who screws up bad enough will get punished. And yes, that punishment may well include "throw them out of the airlock without a suit." Too much punishment, unfair punishment, playing favorites, all that might incite a mutiny. After all, what could anyone on earth do about it? As long as there is only one compound, that may well be the only choice. Once there are more than one, it may change. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Judge blocks Trump's revised travel ban again!
wolfriverjoe replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
Reviewing it after it expires will establish that it was illegal (presuming the court finds that way). While the original may well expire before that is found, that finding would apply to any future attempts at this sort of stupidity. But I bet Trump finds some new sort of stupidity to make up for it. Sort of a 'stupidity corollary' to Booth's Law. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Lucky McSwervy "~ya don't GET old by being weak & stupid!" - Airtwardo -
I see this 2 ways. Either they want the media attention, or they want to let other people that may have the same issues know that they are not alone, and there are options for them. Could also be that they didn't have a choice. Take Jenner. The tabloids were noting "odd" behavior for some time before the reality of the situation became public. Admittedly, the 'public lifestyle' was a choice he made, but sometimes there's no 'going private' once the tabloid press and paparazzi get their hooks in. I'm not sure that she could have kept that sort of thing out of the press, once the transformation became obvious. good point either way it can't be easy going public with it No. It has to be extremely difficult to 'go public' with this sort of thing, regardless of the "celebrity status" of the individual. Not unlike a homosexual "coming out". In both cases, ridicule, abandonment by friends and family, hostility and outright hatred are very common. And think about it. Given how hard it is, and the very real (not just potential) consequences of 'going public' with either homosexuality or transsexuality, how hard must it be to live with it a secret? Lots of people (and a lot of them are teens) commit suicide because either the idea of living the lie or the idea of coming out seems worse than dying. I have a friend whose daughter came out as a lesbian. Her dad has been dead for a few years, and his entire family disowned and abandoned her. It was very hard on her, but she decided to be true to herself no matter what. She's a good kid (turned 21 last spring, but she'll always be a 'kid' to me), going to be married next month. Says a lot more about them than it does about her. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Lucky McSwervy "~ya don't GET old by being weak & stupid!" - Airtwardo

Isn't the "What if they decide to marry monkeys?" argument one of the ones that the bigots used against interracial and gay marriages? Kinda puts your "poodle" comment in perspective. Also, you (as do many who find trans people offensive) seem to think that there are only two genders: man and woman. Not true. While rare, there are hermaphrodites (both at the same time) and angrogens (neither). There are a battery of tests for prospective trans people. If they don't pass them, they don't get the surgery. I don't doubt that there are some out there who have regrets. Or that some found that the surgery didn't "fix" all their problems. It's a very complex issue, compounded by the psychological damage often suffered as the result of trying to (or being forced to) live a life that wasn't theirs. And as far as paying for it goes, welcome to the real world. There's lots of stuff that I have to pay my share for (either through insurance or taxes) that I find truly reprehensible. Most of which costs a lot, lot more than a few reassignment surgeries. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Justices Strike Down Law Banning Disparaging Trademarks

While undoubtedly unintentional, thank you nonetheless for the best laugh I've had in some time. So what explanation do you have for amassing your population along our border, if not preparation for invasion?? We need a wall. Well, then we should have elected Scott Walker president. (current WI gov). One of his "brilliant" ideas on the campaign trail (for the two or three weeks he was on it) was a wall with Canada.
