Well, to be fair, calling this legislation 'Health Care Reform' is a bit of a stretch. "Health Care Devastation" would be a bit more accurate. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Lucky McSwervy "~ya don't GET old by being weak & stupid!" - Airtwardo

I'd consider sexual assault to be pretty 'horrendous'. While he's never been convicted or even charged, the numerous allegations and his own admissions add up to a pretty convincing overall narrative. So Bill Clinton was also evil? I don't recall accusations of sexual assault against Clinton. Sexual harassment, yes. But not assault. One is a crime, punishable by jail/prison time. If Trump were an "ordinary citizen", he'd likely be behind bars for what he's done (and bragged that "they let you get away with it"). Clinton was simply facing civil suits for his behavior. The false equivalency that Trump defenders resort to is pretty telling. Edit to add: After a bit of checking, there were two accusations of sexual assault against Bill Clinton. But there were some discrepancies in the stories, and they are nowhere near as pervasive or as convincing as those against Trump. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." And that's just funny - you'll actually alter someone's nationality to make it fit your weird world-view, because saying 'I also get criticized by Americans' would completely invalidate your entire point. Of course, lots of Americans criticize him. But they are "Northerners" or "Californians" or what ever label he chooses to apply to convince himself that those opinions don't matter. And for the record, Professor Kallend is a naturalized American citizen. And has been for a long time. Oh hell, throw him overboard. When it concerns political discourse and facts. If your arguments, points and counterpoints are poorly constructed. Choose a convenient label to disparage, hate and label. Or use feelings. Or use beliefs. Or call any news you don't agree with "Fake." Or use an imaginary figure in the sky to justify whatever you want. The fact that the written teachings of said figure contradict the majority of the things one says and does doesn't matter. Because it's all about one's "personal relationship" with this figure. Unstowed brakes do what to the opening?
wolfriverjoe replied to bch7773's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You show 20 jumps. Do you know how to pack yet? As was noted, the elastic doesn't do anything but hold the tab of the toggle in place. It doesn't "lock" the brakes in place. That is done by putting the nose of the toggle through the cat's eye on the steering line, below the steel ring. As was noted, it's a "not unusual" mistake to put the nose of the toggle through the cat's eye above the steel ring, then put the nose of the toggle into the keeper. That will virtually guarantee a 'brake fire' and torn keeper. If you don't understand what I've written, ask someone to show you how to properly stow the brakes. Best test for properly stowed brakes that I know of is to take the steering line going up towards the canopy and give it a healthy tug. As is often the case, this is much easier to explain and understand with the thing in front of you. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." He's selfish to the point of narcissism. He clearly has no concern for anyone or anything else. He's a sexual predator. He will say or do anything to get what he wants. He will change his story as he sees fit, and claim he never said something, despite proof. He cheats and cons his employees, customers, contractors and investors. When the law starts closing in, he pays bribes. He's a racist. He pretty clearly courted the "White Supremacist" crowd during the election. He has most likely conspired with Russia to win the election. He has likely laundered a lot of money for the Russian mob. Most importantly, he has the money & power to get away with all of this. Any 'ordinary person' would be in prison for what he's done. Before, when he was 'just' a really rich guy, he didn't have the ability to really cause problems. Now that he's president, he can really screw over the entire world. And would likely do so if he thought he could profit from it. Or if he thought he'd look bad. Or just because he wanted to. Is this "Hitler" evil (or Stalin or Pol Pot ect)? No. But it definitely falls into the "evil" realm. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." BillyVance's "You Can't Make This Up" News Stories Thread

Trademark infringement is no joke. Cease and Desist letters are usually pretty serious. But Netflix knows it's fan base. And, to a certain degree knows that having fun is a big part of that. So a "Stranger Things" themed bar got a letter from them. Not completely shutting them down, just saying that their scheduled end date was going to have to be the end of it. And probably the best "C&D" letter ever written. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Lucky McSwervy "~ya don't GET old by being weak & stupid!" - Airtwardo -
I agree with that. Why not call the team the Gamblers? The Sharks? Etc... Both of those are taken. Sharks are NHL in San Jose, Gamblers are USHL in Green Bay. I don't know quite how it works, but I don't think they would want to duplicate a minor league name. NFL is moving the Raiders from Oakland to Las Vegas, why not the NHL? And Golden Knights is just a nickname. Open to anyone who wants to take it. The funny part would be if the NHL franchise sent a "Cease & Desist" letter to the Army. Countdown to the big event (Sept. 23/2017)

Well, that story isn't exactly encouraging for believers in this particular "Apocalyptic Prediction", One of the quoted subjects is an evangelist and rips it to shreds. And he makes a pretty decent statement: As has been the case throughout the ages, the charlatans peddle these sorts of claims, and the fools, idiots and ghouls (those who actually look forward to the end of times and all of it's suffering) lap it up. Barnum was right. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Lucky McSwervy "~ya don't GET old by being weak & stupid!" - Airtwardo -
Most of the bigger suit makers will do whatever you ask (within reason and for a price). Shoot them an e-mail explaining what you want and see what they say. I'm partial to Tony Suits myself, but there are others out there that are just as good. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Coal Companies. Oil Companies. Mining Companies. Paper Companies. Dry Cleaners (really). Metal Finishing Companies (places that do plating or anodizing). Car Repair Shops. The list is pretty long. Take a look at all of the EPA Superfund cleanup sites. A guy I recently met at the DZ is in the area for a while, cleaning up an old Tecumseh engine plant. They made small engines there for a long time, and left a hell of a mess. All those places profited from a complete lack of pollution regulations. They made a ton of money, then abandoned places that were extremely toxic. When it's cheaper to make a mess and leave it than it is to properly dispose of hazardous pollutants, some people will take the profit and to hell with the rest of the world. I'm asking YOU since you're the one that posted the quote as if you actually knew something about it. key words there, "as" and "if" I'm not the one who pretends to have a direct line to Jesus. I simply take the Sermon on the Mount at its face value. I don't try to re-interpret it to meant something other than what it says. Professor, you also aren't the one who starts a new account and jumps into the conversation, as if someone was already participating... And was banned. Hmmm... If you read it you did not comprehend the meaning. My post was not about homosexuality. No, but the first line was. What does it matter if they are American? Or where they live? Sad and somewhat arrogant to think that those things matter. You wrote: While that is only one belief, it's actually a pretty decent one. If those who claim him as their savior would follow his teachings in every aspect of their lives, the world would be a much, much better place. Too bad that so many so-called "Christians" fail to focus on Christ and his teachings and substitute their own fears and hate. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Well, on the one side, you have the "Dreamers" who came to the US as kids, brought by their parents. They had no choice. They have (used to anyway)to go through an application process and demonstrate that they would be an asset to the country. Many are going to college, many are in the military. On the other side, you have Trump's "Bad Hombres". They came to deal drugs, rape and pillage. Kinda funny that Obama made an effort to welcome the first group and deport the second. And Trump decided that was a bad idea. Illegal. Unconstitutional. And deportations are down. Go figure. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Did not know that was legal Well, to be a bit pedantic, "legal" means within the FARs. No rule about age at all in them. USPA currently has a minimum age of 18, but that is fairly recent (past 5 years?). Largely as a result of pressure from the manufacturers. It used to be 16 with parents permission. And foreign countries have different rules altogether. The Nelson kids were doing tandems very young. Solo jumps pretty young too. The Mullens boys were jumping pretty young too. It helps when your dad is DZO. And those "kids" are some seriously competent jumpers. At my original DZ, one of the "DZ Brats" was licensed at 16. At my current DZ, the son of the DZO recently got his A at 16. They had to get the USPA BOD to grant a waiver. The RD jumps there sometimes, so doing it within the rules was both necessary and not terribly difficult. My first jump was at age 37. A snorkel kit can put the intake up to the roof line. As long as the motor gets air, it may keep running. Soaking the ignition and having it short out can be an issue. Ignition isn't a problem for diesels, but soaking the ECMs can be a problem. Still stupid. Really stupid. You can't see anything in the water, so running into something (pole, hydrant, debris, whatever) is a real possibility. That deep, any sort of current will sweep the truck away. An average of 75 people per year drown from driving through floodwaters. Turn around, don't drown "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." That's a good question. OP says 77kg, which is about 170 lbs. If that is the exit weight, then he's going to be loading right around 1:1 If it's his "stepping out of the shower" weight, then his exit weight is going to be closer to 200 lbs. That puts him at around 1.2:1 "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Lucky McSwervy "~ya don't GET old by being weak & stupid!" - Airtwardo

Countdown to the big event (Sept. 23/2017)
wolfriverjoe replied to gowlerk's topic in Speakers Corner
In theory, yes. Absolutely. In actual practice? Not so much. Guys who only handle firearms and go out into the woods once a year aren't always all that "responsible." Two that come to mind: Woman walking on a hiking trail, wearing a brown coat open at the neck with a white shirt under. Shot and killed. Teen was out hunting and got cold. Went back to the car, grabbed a blanket and wrapped it around himself (covering his blaze orange clothes), sat down right next to the car. Shot by his grandfather. Didn't die. There have been numerous incidents of horses and cows being mistaken for deer, so some folks use the orange spray paint used for marking animals and paint big stripes on their animals. Sometimes painting "COW" or "HORSE" in large letters too. Edit to add: Less along the lines of "don't wear that because you might get raped" and more like "wear bright reflective clothes when you ride a bicycle so you don't get run over by an idiot in a car." Countdown to the big event (Sept. 23/2017)
wolfriverjoe replied to gowlerk's topic in Speakers Corner
That's funny. Where I come from hunters don't wear camo. They wear blaze orange. It's a safety thing ya know....... Hunters here wear orange when on the move. We discovered some hikers last year that had no knowledge about wearing orange. Apparently the regulation is only for the hunters. Go figure. Rules vary from state to state, and from season to season (duck season vs rabbit season for example). And if a person isn't hunting, the rules don't apply to them. Common sense, however, suggests not looking like game during a hunting season. Personally, I wouldn't go in the woods around here during whitetail season unless I was in something that was armor plated. I've worked "sight in season" at the local shooting range for too many years. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit."
