Yeah, but that isn't the 'Greatest Song In The World' either. It's just the tribute to it.

While that may be true to a degree, there are 'more than a few' voters who don't like Trump but absolutely hate abortion rights. With the SC appointment rammed through, those people no longer have any reason to vote for Trump.

Absolutely. I'm somewhat data limited, so I don't watch a whole lot of videos. I prefer to read text articles. So the fact that I haven't seen one does NOT mean they don't exist. But if he's going to claim they are out there 'in the news', then he should easily be able to link one... Shouldn't he? That's why I made my request. I even said 'please'.

Please post one.

It's official: We are still in the 1st wave

Europe is seeing increases. They are taking steps to try to slow it. Because, you know, science. https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2020/10/25/927637746/europe-imposes-new-restrictions-as-covid-19-cases-soar -
Oh yeah. Rule #1 for gun owners with kids: Your kids know there are guns in the house. Your kids know where they are. Your kids are interested in them (forbidden fruit rule). There are ways to properly secure them. But just 'hiding them' in a 'good spot' is really foolish.

World record for a cliff jump seems to be 192'. https://trekbaron.com/highest-cliff-dives/ BASE guys will go from that low (I think).

It's the new catch-all term for concepts, ideas & attitudes that the Alt-Right doesn't like. Kinda like "Antifa."
-
They think it 'won't happen to them' They think their kids wouldn't do that. They think the gun is in a safe place. Or... They simply don't think.

Well, the head of the federal government's "Corona Task Force" has an outbreak in his office. Several staffers have tested positive. So what does he do? Follow the CDC recommendations? Quarantine & isolate? Do everything he can to reduce the spread? Of course not. He declares himself 'essential' and continues on the campaign trail.

That's funny, considering one of the few (like 20 total) newspaper endorsements for Trump in 16 was from the KKK "Crusader". And, of course, after the White Power march & rally in Virginia in 2017, Trump called the Nazis & KKK 'very fine people'.

I think the PLF is a good thing, for several reasons. Not sure what else could be used. Most of the Parkour type falls are simply modified PLFs, at least from what I've seen on the videos. First off, the forward speed one sees on landing usually isn't all that high (swooping excepted). If the landing is anything approaching normal, forward speed should be mostly bled off by the time the ground is met. A more or less standard PLF is perfectly adequate for a fair amount of forward speed. You just roll forward more (further). I've turned running landings into PLF/forward rolls when I found that I couldn't move my legs fast enough to keep up with my body. Slides have their place, when properly executed. I've adopted/adapted something resembling a baseball style slide. I start it while the canopy is still supporting my weight, and just sort of settle down on the side of my leg and my hip as it progresses. One problem with this is it needs smooth grass. If I'm not certain there aren't any holes or ruts, then I roll it out. I had one where I saw a nasty rut from the lawn mower tractor (probably 5" deep and at least 8" wide) that would have easily caught & injured my ankle. I abandoned the slide idea at the last second & rolled it out. Another problem is that it has to be done correctly. Tandems often slide in, landing straight on the butt. For a landing that is smooth & properly flared, this is ok. For anything else, it can cause spinal injuries. "Unteaching" students who want to do that can be challenging.

Well, with Wisconsin in the grip of a very large increase in cases (new cases 7 day average topped 4k), the Republican led legislature is in 'Full Denial" mode. https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/politics/2020/10/23/wisconsin-republican-lawmakers-aides-facing-covid-19-outbreak/3692961001/?for-guid=238f4265-c25f-4890-ba87-228c994157f7&itm_source=jsonline-Coronavirus Watch&itm_medium=email&itm_campaign=baseline_greeting&itm_term=list_article_thumb&fbclid=IwAR28Ec8oPQnvY1gmiPQqGLr_prCoEu6ZxXClUU2tKffXTHav4b0pZFbv4FI

Based on what? Most polls I've seen put Trump's support around 40%. At this point, most of the Trump supporters I see are pretty vocal. I don't think there are any 'medium level' ones left. He's too polarizing. Either you hate him or you love him (not much difference between the hateful supporters who actually like him or the fools who have been conned into thinking he's a 'great leader'). The 'sign people' aren't subtle. I see very few places that only have one Trump sign in the yard. Most have multiple signs, flags, all of that. Same with cars. Few have just one sticker on the back. I do have to agree with you that the idea of 'freedom of speech' has become a 'liberal' one. Most Trump supporters (and Trump himself) cannot abide the idea that people can criticize him. Or his family.

The biggest worry about temp swings would be condensation. The desiccant should reduce that. Cold isn't really good for the batteries, but if you aren't turning the AAD on, I wouldn't worry about it. Pests would also be a concern. But that depends on the conditions of the storage location. One thing I do for long(er) term storage is to pull the pilot chute out of the BOC. Easier on the spandex.

Ya ever seen how the fundamentalist Christians react when you criticize them? They don't cut your head off, but they sure as shit hate you for it. Despite that thing Jesus taught about 'loving your enemies'.

That's not strictly true. There are vaccines against coronaviruses... For animals. https://coronavirusexplained.ukri.org/en/article/vdt0010/ Interestingly, one of the things mentioned in the article is that corona can develop into FIP. That's long been a 'death sentence' for cats. Recently, a shelter that I support had a cat with FIP. They went to a lot of effort (and not a little expense) to treat the little guy and he's considered 'recovered'. And of course this won't be the last pandemic. We knew there was another pandemic coming for a while now. SARS, Avian flu, H1N1 (Swine flu), Ebola, ect. All of those were warnings that we had to take these kinds of outbreaks seriously. That's why the CDC developed plans to fight them. That's why there was a task force designed to implement those plans. That's why there was a 'playbook' for them. You know, all the assets & resources that Trump shit canned.

Not the Ukraine. They are actually our allies. The "October Surprise" is courtesy of Russia, Putin, the FSB (KGB) and all the "useful idiots" that are Trump supporters. You know, the ones pretending that Obama's few demonstrable lies in some way are as bad as the TENS OF THOUSANDS that Trump has spewed.

I guess I consider my beliefs as part of who I am. And questioning those (both the beliefs and myself) are part of a routine that I try to practice on a regular basis. If those beliefs don't stand up to scrutiny, or the principles they are based on change in a fundamental way, then it's time to decide if I keep them or move on. A good example of this is my support for the Republicans. It was never a strong stance. I've always disagreed with some of the positions. It was more I disagree with them less than I disagree with the Ds. While my principles haven't changed, the stance they took back when they took control of congress moved them far enough away from what I could support.

Well, all of the fundamentalists who insist that evolution is not true, that "God created everyone and everything" are insisting that Genesis is true. All the ones who claim that homosexuality is against "God's intention" are insisting that everyone follow Leviticus. How about those 10 Commandments? You know, the ones that all of the zealots want displayed in courthouses and other public buildings (at taxpayer cost)? You keep insisting that Islam needs reform, yet ignore how many people still follow that 'bloody Old Testament'. Brings to mind a quote about attending the beam in one's own eye before the mote in the neighbors.

Trump's supporters don't understand that they're being conned. Trump's supporters don't understand basic math. To expect them to understand complex trade issues is pretty foolish.

The problem with the comparison with AIDS is that to a large degree, AIDS was something that had not been seen before. It did things that no other virus had been known to do. The fact that it attacked a marginalized segment of the population didn't help. It wasn't until AIDS entered the blood supply and began affecting 'regular' people that it got the attention really needed to figure it out. Yes, "The Band Played On" is an excellent movie. OTOH, the coronavirus is a fairly standard pneumonia causing virus. We know of other corona viruses. Some cause the common cold, similar to rhino viruses. Some affect livestock. We have good ideas on how it spreads. We are learning to treat it. There's a lot still to learn, and much of what we know is still in the 'hypothesis' phase. Some countries have done a very good job in containing it. The US was likely to see a bad outbreak, no matter who was in charge. The pushback over the quarantine shutdowns, the 'liberty' idiots who refuse to follow good scientific advice, the 'hoax' morons (same ones that are Qcumbers, anti-vaxxers, chemtrails, flat earthers, moon landing hoax, and on and on), those fools pretty much a guaranteed we'd see more cases. But the blatant mishandling by Trump made it far worse than that. I hate him. He's a con man, pure and simple. He's using his position to line his pockets at the expense of the rest of the country. He completely ignores the damage he's done and is doing. He doesn't care about anything or anyone other than himself. And he's conned a large segment of the population into believing his garbage.

Meh. People are idiots. Shortsighted and gullible. They believe what they want to, not what's real (especially when reality is not fun). I know people that have decided that they are 'tired' and 'done with' the virus. Unfortunately, the virus isn't done with us. We're setting records for new cases, hospitalizations and deaths here in Wisconsin. There was a bit of a hiccup in the reporting last weekend. The DHS did an upgrade of the system, and it was shut down for a couple days. The following days had a bit of chaos as the reports caught up. Some stuff (total tests was one) were all reported the first day back. Some stuff took a couple days to catch up (positive tests had the 'missing' days reported spread out over a couple days). It kind of screwed up the averages for a few days. Doesn't change the fact that we are now seeing new positive tests over 4k per day. Hospitalizations are approaching 200 per day. Deaths are overall not catching up (percent of cases ending in death is now below 1%) but are increasing too. It's getting ugly and will get worse.

That 'level of production' can be accomplished with a GoPro and a decent laptop. As I have asked before (and you have ignored), when is HRC going to be arrested? When are the military tribunals on Gitmo going to happen? When are you going to realize that you are being played? Barnum was right.
