  1. You Are a Snapdragon "Mischief is your middle name, but your first is friend. You are quite the prankster that loves to make other people laugh." Apparently there are quite few of us on this thread
  2. Thank you for that P ... The overall message I'm getting is that one's much more likely to die from NOT deploying their reserve (when needed) than he/she is from deploying it and having a malfunction ... O
  3. I must be some kind of ... "freak of jumper nature" ... according to your categories I fall into “B” … and I feel nothing like I know everything in the world; just the opposite, in fact. As I’ve been around a bit more (months, versus weeks), I’ve read more, heard more and seen more, I have become more acutely aware of the dangers involved ... and my fear grew acordingly. O
  4. Dumbest thing I’ve read this week … make that this year. I started as an engineer and grew in ranks to manage engineers and technicians. It affords me financial independence and expensive hobbies such as travel and skydiving. O
  5. At my DZ I had to use student gear until I got my A-license ... O
  6. It took me 50 to 70 jumps to stop being scared at the door. I was so terrified during AFF that I would never remember what I did in the door and I always messed up my count (I made my instructors earn their money, for sure :). Just like you, once out the door and in freefall I was fine. So, while on the airplane, the door open and I started getting that feeling of wanting to scream for mommy, I told myself that I need to get out ASAP. I knew door=fear, freefall=fun :). It will get better, I promise ... O
  7. I was going to be in Cali this weekend and jumping at Elsinore ... if I didn't break my ankle ... Have fun you guys ... I'll be there in spirit ... O
  8. Aren't we all? Don't worry, you'll be in good company ... O
  9. Belly button on girls, when they have a nice, flat tummy. Nipples on guys, when they have a nice, manly chest. Ears on both ... O
  10. Good Morning! The sun is out for the first time in 10 days or so ... I'm enjoying the view from my office. I'm still having questionable dreams (not in a good way) ... I really need to stay out of the "Incidents" forum and get back to dreaming something more ... pleasurable. "Virgin-burner" promissed to help, but hasn't popped into my dreams ... yet. LOL!!! O
  11. Your AFF instructors are qualified to choose a canopy size for you. You can't jump your own rig until you receive your A-license ... you don't need to worry about this just yet :) O
  12. A better reason for having hook knives on board is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5x9lMv33XW8 O
  13. One is never "too old" to start skydiving. I'm sure many on here started late, just like I have. And yes, life goes by fast ...don't waste it :) O
  14. Rectangular (not square) pan ... and where I came from (nowhere near USA) corn "bread" is actually a desert :) O
  15. No ... I'm fairly intelligent, but trying to read that "keyboard diarrhea" gives me a headache . O
  16. The pictures look beautiful - thanks for sharing. Way to go
  17. Don't we all... come on over the the other secret club Alright ... as long as I won't be required to do something that violates my morals ... too much ... O
  18. Thank you for that ... and I'd absolutely love to see how a reserve is being packed -- I'll ask my rigger ASAP. My reserve was just packed in April, but I won't hisitate paying for another re-pack if he'll need mine in order to let me watch him ... O
  19. Mine is too short in the torso giving me an uncomfortble, almost painful "camel toe". It is big at the chest, too tight at the hips and I can barely bend my arms (it restricts my movement). It looks nice, the materials are of quality and the stitching looks durable ... but the fit is exteremely poor. O
  20. ... are overrated!!! That's my story and I'm sticking with it ... but don't listen to me ... (really) ... I'm now grounded with a broken ankle (yep, botched landing) and sure as hell I'll be changing my tune once I get back in the sky O
  21. Everyone seems reluctant to give me any advice on how to fix a malfunction, understandably so. I’m a rookie, I have no clue, I should follow my emergency procedures. Trust me, I have no problem pulling those handles. My concern is not a malfunction on the main … I’m terrified about a malfunction on the reserve. If a cutaway and my “last chance to live” opens with a mal, than what??? O
