Which one does she mean tho'..... we have sooooo many. Personally, I love a Cardiff accent on a lass ... Think Qwen from 'Torchwood' - There's nice see. Been scanning through the thread looking for someone to say 'English'. I'd almost given up hope, but 'British' is close enough.

The world is very different when you're a woman dealing with a criminal than a man. I would hope to have time to tell the intruder to freeze. If they froze or ran out, fine. If they advance towards me, that would be hostile intent and I would feel justified in using deadly force. I don't favor deadly force to protect property, even when it's legal. With that said, I'm much happier when the laws favor the homeowner instead of the intruder. I would hate to have laws as in Britain, where the homeowner goes to jail for shooting an intruder. Note to self: never move to Britain (I almost did 3 years ago) ... unless I have a big, mean, burly live-in boyfriend ... O

There you go ... I knew you would come to your senses . I'm jealous, but glad you had a great weekend. O
-
Yep, that's pretty much it. Once I'm able to resume full activity, mornings are busy with gym, evenings are busy with being social, and weekends are busy with jumping ... Also, my work is going to get very busy in a few weeks - I won't have time for anything personal during the day. I'm not worried

0:0:0 As I said, I'm not having a great summer. It's been raining outside for a month, but love wise I'm going through a long dry spell (apparently girls in cast are not that sexy). Still no jumping yet - cast is coming off this week, but both ankles are very stiff - starting physical therapy on July 6th. O

Donation in China (NSFW - unless you work in a clinic!)

Please, do elaborate ... O -
Good morning gang! Waking up to another rainy day in Boston. The weather has been ridiculous since I got injured ... So, V-B ... what did you end up doing over the weekend with your lady friend? Tell us ... O
-
That is a big (and awesome) decision. It is going to be though, but worth it. O

Note to self: Do NOT spend the night at Olympias house!! LOL!!! Come on, you know what I mean. Than again, maybe I'm single because I've shot dead all of my boyfriends ... O

Gimpy Girl/Guy Ground Party at American Boogie
OlympiaStoica replied to k-dubjumps's topic in The Bonfire
You're probably right. I'll be out of the cast on Thursday, so among all the "gimpy girls" I'll be the one with most mobility ... I promise to have a camera handy ... and if you all are nice, maybe I'll share a few pictures from the impromptu wet t-shirt contest ... O -
Donation in China (NSFW - unless you work in a clinic!)
OlympiaStoica replied to shropshire's topic in The Bonfire
It seems nobody noticed the lack of privacy while you're being ... umm ... milked by one of those clinic workers. Being surrounded by other dudes in the same position doesn't seem all that enjoyable ... unless you are into that sort of thing ... -
Poor little things ... how did they end up in your pool? And I got to make it to one of those drinking parties I keep hearing about ... O

I don’t know about you, but I for one spend waaaaaaay too much time in front of a computer. My work requires me to be constantly connected, so I can’t help that … than I come home and there is “wasting” time on Facebook, dropzone.com … and all those nasty porn sites . So, question to the forum whores (and to you lurkers), how many hours a day do you spend online, and how much is too much in your opinion? And, how many of you get “jittery” if you have to go a day without checking your email or logging in to the social networking site of your choice? O ... a.k.a. self admitted online addict

Huh? Nobody is questioning how the hubby of the OP handled the situation - everyone is glad it didn't escalate. Also, he had the benefit of being a man - an intruder is more likely to comply with the "get out" command when it's coming from a man, than he would be coming from a woman living alone. (I doubt anyone would dispute that.) As far as consequences of killing someone who is attacking you in your home, being raped or killed would be a far worse consequence than dealing with the emotional trauma (I'm certain it would be there) of killing someone. Again, if someone is in my home in the middle of the night, I'll assume he is there to rape or kill me (or both), not to steal "trivial property". I'm not sure how I'd react, but getting into a conversation with the intruder about his exact intentions won't be part of it. O

Actually, it so happens that I know how to use a firearm; no, I never had to use one to defend myself (I'm thankful for that). If someone sneaked into my home in the middle of the night, I'd consider myself being "attacked". Not knowing how I'd react because I've never been in that situation is a fair point. However, I'm pretty sure that "freeze and coward in fear" wouldn't be my reaction ... and I'd use a gun if it came to that. O

you'd kill a person over trivial property This point was already eloquently made here by Andy ... Someone breaking into my home in the middle of the night? I'd have no issue shooting him/her. Depending of how threatened I feel in the particular situation, I'd shoot to kill, or shoot to disable. This is not about "trivial property" - it is about someone blatantly invading and attacking your most personal safety space. I got no family (which would probably make me even more "fierce" in such situation), but I care about my own life enough to take such action. O

Help to keep the employment figures high - I guess I doubt that - if anything, it helps keeping the donation figures high ... O -
I'm no rigger and a novice to the sport just like you, so I'll refrain from discussing any technical aspects, but I'll relay my limited personal experience. Right off student status I started jumping a Safire 2 (9-cell) - fun to fly, but I hated the openings and I could never figure out the timing of my flare. I gave up on it after 25 jumps or so and bought a Storm (7-cell) - worked much better for me. (Sure I broke my ankle on it, but the canopy had no bearing on the accident - with a low turn and no flare I would have hurt myself on any canopy.) The major difference I noticed, beside the much better, consistent openings, was the glide - with the Safire 2 I had a lot more forward movement; with the Storm, if I got a little bit of wind, when I face into it I come straight down (very steep angle). LMAO!!! Let me guess, all you boys want to move to China and "donate" every day of the week, if possible. (insert rolling eyes icon here). I'm no prude and my mind is open, but I think that's f*cking ridiculous. There is absolutely no medical need to receive nurse assistance for that. O -
Good Morning! Where is everyone? I got more drunk texting last night (well, 4:30am EDT) from the same dz.com crazy person . Dark skies here again - nothing new. I'll be spending the day looking for flights to get to the American Boogie next weekend to hang out with fellow injured girls (Karen and Rosa). O

He is trying to pull you into a conversation where you give details about your "turn ons" ... O
