  1. Well ... not that "good" . I almost got thrown out of the boarding school once ... or twice ... O
  2. It has been a lot longer than 3 years since I've been in a classroom ... I doubt I remember any algebra ... I was a good student, but I had trouble with this one anyway. For some strange reason, geometry/trigonometry is what I was very good at :) O
  3. What? Shaking head in disbelief ... I can't believe it was that easy ... ... to make you cry O
  4. (Shaking head in disbelief ............)
  5. What kind of girl do you think I am? Check your mailbox O
  6. (Batting eyelashes at virgin-burner) ... they need to have an icon for that ... the ones available are not ... flirting friendly O
  7. For the past few nights I've tangled with my main, I had a total mal, I hit the tail of the plane ... WTF? It seems I relieve what I read in the incidents forums, so perhaps I should avoid them until I can get back in the air ... I want to go back to having those "other" dreams ... of handsome hunks doing bad things to me ... O
  8. That is scary ... if this means that the next time you'll find yourself between a rock and a hard place you waste precious time second guessing yourself, it's really scary. You did the right thing cutting away a canopy you didn't feel OK flying. I had my first and only cutaway as a student - jump #12 - to this day I'm not clear what it was (tension knots ?) ... the canopy was relatively square above my head, but I could only turn it in one direction and I couldn't keep it flying straight. I had a 1000 feet to work with it, I didn't know how to fix it, at got to 2,500 feet and I got rid of it. One of my former AFF instructors who was on the same load got to the ground and told everyone that I've cutaway a "perfectly good canopy" ... BEFORE I landed and I got a chance to say anything. THAT WAS NOT COOL either ... O
  9. Good morning ... another night of dreaming crazy. I'm quickly learning that perhaps I should avoid reading the "Incidents" forum :) O
  10. Calling all Persians to .... do what? O
  11. Why did he rely on someone else for his own altitude awareness? (It makes no sense to me ... and I just want to learn, if there is anything to learn from it.) O
  12. At my DZs (started my training at one and finished at another) students were required to use an analog altimeter. I bought an Altitrack while still in AFF and love it - I got the analog display with the digital features. After 100+ jumps on it, I got one issue - I don't get very accurate altitude readings below 1000 feet. As I'm still bad at judging my distance to the ground, I'll probably start wearing a Neptune on my other arm, just for landing. O
  13. Wow ... that is a lot of metal to carry around in one's body - it hurts just to look at. I'm glad to hear your wife is on her way to living pain free ... O
  14. Hmmmm - Little to the right . . . (see attached)
  15. Got it ... I'm still working on finding my way around O
  16. Am I "cordially invited" to "kiss your ass"? O
  17. I was speculating as to why more "lurkers" don't post; personally, I jumped right in ... so far I've (mostly) minded my own business and I haven't (yet) been bitch slapped ... O
  18. Is there a hidden meaning or a message that supposed to make sense? Or just rambling, someone saying "I am here, pay attention to me"? O
  19. I started “lurking” only recently, while grounded by a broken ankle. Perhaps the reason a lot of people don’t post is because you guys, the “regulars”, tend to be a little … umm … intimidating? O
  20. I haven't found myself in this situation yet -- if this is deemed to be a "bad habit" I'd rather avoid developing it to begin with ... hence why I brought it up for discussion. However, I don't want to use my reserve unless I absolutely have to and no, having to deal with a repack is NOT the reason. O
  21. I did that too! Got out in the end though. Don't beat yourself up about failing level 1. I failed several levels several times! I didn't get the count right during my entire AFF, not even once. The exit was the culmination of my anxiety and as it turns out, that's quite normal for a student ... so keep that in mind and don't beat yourself up :) O
  22. That's a lot of tunnel time -- it will serve you well with your AFF training. Welcome to the sport. O
  23. Love at first jump ... it happens :). Welcome to the sport; get ready to have the time of your life. O
