ISIS this is what is really going on in the middle east
jclalor replied to Anvilbrother's topic in Speakers Corner
Seriously? you think another 911 like act of terror is just what this country needs? -
Your continued ignorance is even more embarrassing, the article you cite was written in 2007 , Bush signed the SOFA in 2008. You should really stick to gun threads. Ya there is some embarasment here, but it is not mine Obama was talking to Iraq about how many troops should stay Iraq wanted them to stay at some level and they were debating the US on the imunity issue Irag finally gave into that part and Obama moved the goal posts again Irag got so frustrated they finally told them to leave Even Romney talked about the 30k that should be left In any event There is enough blame to go around Just for the sake of a good laugh, if we were again to send military assistance, what would a victory look like? One basic question the GOP has never been able to answer concerning our involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The greatest public celebration I ever witnessed was in Cairo minutes after they won the African cup in 2006, and they were mostly sober.

I watched him this morning on Meet The Press, I thought David Gregory made him look like a fool. That is a very low bar... It really is sad that the GOP can't muster a true statesman and leader from its ranks... I really want to believe that not all of them have been expunged by the true believers. I suppose it's far from a Herculean task to get the better of Romney in an interview. He sure looked like he was testing those 2016 waters.

Political satire, a comparison of UK and US TV shows
jclalor replied to kallend's topic in Speakers Corner
25 years ago I use to be in the lawn aeration business, I use to buy Ammonium Nitrate 2000 pounds at a time. I also had a diesel truck and carried fuel in the back, it would at times spill and mix with the ammonium nitrate pellets and form a thick crust in the bed. I had no idea what that stuff was. -
Oh yeah, an African frog maybe, but not a European frog. That's my point.

Here's some information with regard to Robert Taylor's weapons violation: http://www.mlive.com/news/grand-rapids/index.ssf/2013/09/robert_taylor_one_of_two_who_d.html Apparently the weapons charge was dropped: Wow... I really liked the last sentence on your link: "He was nothing ever than a polite law-abiding citizen, though," he said. "He just really knew his firearms." I would think that cops would be none too happy pulling over intoxicated drivers with guns between the seats.
-
What a country, where a drunk driving affects your drivers license longer than your permit to carry a concealed weapon. Not to mention a weapons violation.

Do you even bother to read the shit you post? From your link: "We are going to have to be in Iraq for a number of years still, but to talk in terms of a number of decades is not helpful," says Brookings' O'Hanlon. "Despite our best efforts, we have been part of the reason for the turmoil in Iraq. We should not presuppose that our long-term presence will be beneficial."

Can you cite evidence that bush planned to leave 20 thousand troops in Iraq? Here's my proof:
-
A bit of info you have chozen to omit is the fact that Bush was going to leave 20 to 30 troops in Iraq Obama did not want to do this so he did not This is also for those who wish to have facts and ignore political point making Your ignorance on the subject is embarrassing, did you ever read the actual status of forces agreement that the Bush administration signed? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S.–Iraq_Status_of_Forces_Agreement

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Peace/2014/06/12/Iraq-Civil-War-Is-Exactly-What-Democrats-Wanted Troops have been gone since December 2011...so almost two and a half years. How long should the US have kept troops in Iraq to keep you happy Marc? And how do you reconcile that with your wish to curb spending? Oh, and what would the Democrats have to gain by a civil war in Iraq? You really read an aricle like that and have an "aha" moment? Aha moment? that is funny what is happening was predicted and predictable Gotta think the peace loving people of Iraq think very highly now of the US and the US standing with them Come on man there was NO doubt this was coming And the Democrats could give a fuck less Did you ever about think what the difference would be in Vietnam if the the US left in 1969 instead of 1975? It wouldn't mean jack shit for Vietnam, but it would mean tens of thousand of Americans would still be alive. But using your logic, it was that no good son of a bitch Ford that surrendered to the Communist in Vietnam. Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon didn't have a damn thing to do with it.

Exactly.

Well, there are a few details you've left out but, thats ok Have you ever served in the military? I can answer that one. No, he did not. He much rather sit back and let others put themselves in harms way while he enjoys what us veterans and current service men and women gave. That is alright as not everyone is capable or should ever serve. Some are better to stay here and continue with their education and or man the assembly lines in our factories (when we had them before the CEO's sent them to other countries.) In Marcs' case, however, my assessment (from what I know of him from this board) is that he is nothing more than a hawk with a loud squawk. In other words, not capable to handle the stress. Proud veteran, Hull Technician, 2nd Class Petty Officer, USS Okinawa LPH-3. My first assignment on board the USS Constellation CV 64 was to go below and find a "HT punch"

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Peace/2014/06/12/Iraq-Civil-War-Is-Exactly-What-Democrats-Wanted Do you ever read any of the gibberish you cite. Your "source" did not once mention that Obama pulled out in accordance with the agreement that Bush made. Don't you find that interesting they failed to mention that? Or is that "fair and balanced" Obama wanted to keep troops in Iraq (I disagreed) but Maliki wanted to be able to prosecute US troops for what the Iraqi's considered US war crimes. Where's the Iraqi army that was going to "stand up" while we "stood down?" What was the old joke about French rifles for sale?

That one made me blow my coffee right through my nose. You sure are a fair-weathered fan of polls. -
Stick with Davis or Lodi. At Monterey and Hollister, you can spend weeks, if not months waiting on tandems, fog, and wind.

That all of those Iraqi security forces, that we spent (spend) hundreds of billions of dollars arming and training, whom we were promised would stand up and defend Iraq from Sunni terrorist and stabilize the ME, would loose. Who would've ever guessed? http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/12/world/middleeast/iraq.html?_r=0

Couple in Las Vegas Killings Embraced Anti-Government Ideology
jclalor replied to mpohl's topic in Speakers Corner
So, who enabeled the Gabby Gifford shooter? You know, the left wing nut who shot her? Your short sighted comment is sad at best It's interesting that one of the best arguments I've heard in favor of concealed weapons is from this very story, yet I've heard nobody, including you, mention it. The civilian killed in the Wallmart had pulled out his own weapon and was approaching the male shooter when the shooters wife shot and killed him. This distraction may have been enough to save lives. This is from eyewitness accounts, one of them being the friend of the deceased who was there. I really hate having to help you argue your case.
