  1. When you start fighting police and wildly grabbing at their weapons, all bets are off. New surveillance video shows the deceased beating someone minutes before being shot. And the stupid ass that picks up the club, she should have got her ass stomped.
  2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twG6dKmxacQ Deployed main at approx. 300' AGL. Didn't walk away from it but he lived.
  3. Just because we all participate in an "extreme" sport, it sure doesn't make all of us "extreme" athletes. I think the jumper's mind has to be in much better shape than the jumper's body.
  4. I'm only 53, I'll have to get back too ya.
  5. I wonder if there will ever be a point in time, when every public movement is so expected and is so routinely recorded, that jumping with a camera, will not be considered anything but the norm. Perhaps being distracted when one has low numbers, while wearing a camera, is generational?
  6. Remember the Bundy supporter who wanted to put the women and children on the frontlines if shooting erupted? He was also an ardent opponent of the President's healthcare plan. Well... It seems that he also never though that health insurance was a good choice for him, or his wife. Now he and his wife are are ill and burdening the rest of society with their medical bills, and they want you to donate. I would estimate that 75% of the donations he has received are from people that hate him, it's very entertaing reading their comments. Karma is a bitch. http://www.gofundme.com/helpsheriffmack
  7. I always thought she was just very passionate in what she believed, I always enjoyed her post. Viva la difference. I always thought that she used the words "Republitards"and "Conservaturds" as terms of endearment.
  8. Good to she is still well, and has not lost that good-natured friendly disposition. Anyone know how to block this troll? I never got the impression she hated all of us.
  9. I like threads that make me a do a little bit of research. I never knew the one single act during the Vietnam war to most likely win you the MOH... Throwing yourself on a live grenade to save others. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Medal_of_Honor_recipients_for_the_Vietnam_War
  10. I loved that song, perhaps the first country song I ever remember hearing. I haven't heard it in at least 35 years. I didn't even know who John Birch and Charlie Daniels were the last time I heard that song.
  11. Thank you for your very thoughtful and deeply insightful reply. Please visit SC more often.
  12. I'm almost 100% certain that's not how it works. The "Texas congressman" may think so, but I'm pretty sure it's not. I'm fairly certain there is more to it than simply asking the President to do it. There would absolutely be a vetting process. It's not something that just happens "because." Of course that's not how it works... But in Kyle's home state, the congressman can't loose.
  13. I always find it amusing, when people claim that the very medium their using is, or soon will be used, to quell all oppisition. How soon before they use the term "Obama Net"? I know there was a thread about 2-3 years ago on this subject, I seem to recall it was a non-partisan issue back then.
  14. I just realized this was the same article as the other thread. Someone had posted a lengthy article on the roots of ISIS leadership a couple months back, it was a great article , I thought this was the same article. The other article was a link in response to a thread, I would love to read that article again, who ever posted the earlier one, feel free to repost the link, I can't find it. This article in this thread is fascinating, a bit scary and a bit of a long read, almost an hour, but well worth the time invested. I can only think if Ron were of a different religion, he would be making his way south out of Istanbul towards the Syrian border. I took a flight to Munich then to Isatanbul in 2006 and then finally to Gaziantep Turkey, I took a cab from Gaziantep to Aleppo. Perhaps the greatest adventure of my life. I often think about the wonderful people I had the chance to meet, while in Syria for a couple of weeks. Lost of good stories, being detainedat at the Lebanese-Syrian border for 8 hours, it then got a bit bit scary when the sun set. I would go again in a second if it were safe, I get nervous trying to find the exact route thatI took.
  15. It took me 50 minutes. The most poignant part was where It mentioned the Current US policy, as being the least terrible, out of only terrible choices. The story makes all of our Christian Apopalypticist look like Girl Scouts.
  16. There has to be a responses to ISIS. The major problem is that all responses have major pitfalls, that as westerners, we can't even begin to fathom what they are. I think a very large exclusin zone that encircles the conflicted are. This zone should allow no one in - and no one out. Thousands of armed drones patrolng daily. All ISIS communication in this area should be jammed. Although I personally entered into syria from turky, it seemed like that it was flat defendable terrain, oI think we should contract out some work to those who will recruit fighters to ISIS. And when they show up in turkey, bullets to the head, with ISIS claiming they were spies and needed to spot.
  17. It works both ways "I was in a situation one time, in a war zone in Argentina, in the Falklands, where my photographer got run down and then hit his head and was bleeding from the ear on the concrete. And the army was chasing us. I had to make a decision. And I dragged him off, you know, but at the same time, I'm looking around and trying to do my job, but I figure I had to get this guy out of there because that was more important." He was describing the unrest after the surrender, the riots in Buenos Aires while doing coverage for CBS. We know this happened there is documentation to prove it. He didnt just say In the Falklands he said "In Argentina, in the Falklands" Its not like he completely said he was on the islands. It was a live video report if you simply change it to ""In Argentina, ON the Falklands" you have yourself what I think he meant to say. If your trying to lie why would you say IN ARGENTINA before you said the Falklands part? 'I've covered wars, okay? I've been there. The Falklands, Northern Ireland, the Middle East. I've almost been killed three times, okay.' They were talking about war time media coverage, and being called out for never having done it. He stated "Ive been there"...Meaning Ive covered wars, The Falklands, Northern Ireland, the Middle East. Even said something to the terms of "i missed you over there while I was doing these reports." basically calling him out. I dont see anything but some media diversion and bullshit throwing lies out there to see if it sticks to cover for williams. Fuck someone ask Brian im sure he was there on the ground with the troops. It sure looking like all of the other CBS news people in country at the time remember things a whole lot different than your humble bloviator.
  18. I guess it was a little complicated for some. But not for them. My point was that if you just watched this short antimation, and all you got of it was to simply kill every Shia for the problem to be solved, perhaps it was a bit too deep for you.
  19. The first movie I saw with Jackson was Pulp Fiction, perhaps one of the best movies I've ever seen. I think he's just gone downhill since. On second thought, he was pretty good in Django.
  20. I guess it was a little complicated for some.
  21. Informative, yet very entertaining, while still being 99% non-partisan. http://youtu.be/AQPlREDW-Ro
  22. I wonder why he would sign the SOFA, that had a clearly agreed upon departure date for US troops? He says in this video that only military leaders could decide upon a departure date. I wonder what ever happened to: "We would be greeted as liberators" "The cost of the war would be paid with by Iraqi oil" " The Sunni-Shia divide was overrated " " Democracy would blossom in the region" " the coalition of the willing" "The Iraqi army is nearly trained" " The few remaing dead-enders" And now you claim W was a visionary...Their gonna lap this shit up on Fox. "
