  1. I think you have me kind of all wrong, fuck bush, and most of all I am a non believer. We do need stem cell research and what would make you think I am against it? The bottom line is I will always have many fresh tasty animals of my choosing to eat and medicines that have been properly tested on chimpanzees. Peta is no more of a threat to my way of life than fringe groups like the KKK or Code pink.
  2. As far as I know, all western countries require a doctors order for IV's. When you talk third world I think any thing goes.
  3. Entrapment is the act of a law enforcement agent in inducing a person to commit an offence which the person would not have, or was unlikely to have, otherwise committed.
  4. Palin is done. I can't wait to watch her ass crash and burn. To think she was suppose to nab all the women voters was a joke.
  5. In the safety section of this site it list IV's to be included in the DZ first aid kits. IV's are presription medical supplies and need to be ordered by an MD.
  6. What part of Peta saying that ANY product enhanced in ANY way by animal research is to be avoided completely? There are levels of hypocracy, have I ever been a hypocrite? You bet. I work with very sick children, I am at work right now. I guess Peta would like me to go tell some of these kids with spinal fractures that you will never have the chance to have the use of your arms or legs again because some people dont wanna hurt the little fuzzy mice or bunny rabbits. I would personaly rip the heads off every fucking mouse or bunny if I could see one of these kids walk again. Thats just me, call me mean or crazy but I really like humans more than animals. Not to say I dont like animals. The fact is I distain any unnessecary suffering of anything. Their are many noble animal rights groups that do great things. Peta or ALF is not one of them.
  7. The bottom line is I love animals.------ Thier delicious.
  8. Even if there is not any animal products used in her insulin now, she had no problem using them when it was her only option. that made her a hypocrite. The fact that the insulin she now uses was tested on animals makes her a hypocrite. Peta doctrine calls for returning any product to the manufacture that required animal testing. They should try to model themselves more like Jehova's wittnesses who believe blood transfusions are wrong and are willing to die instead of have one.
  9. The difference is I do not espouse the elimination of trucking. I just say if you talk the talk you better be ready to take one for the team and walk the walk.
  10. November 10, 2007 PETA Hypocrisy You may have read recently how the Animal Liberation Front (ALF) recently caused $20-30,000 damage to the house of a scientist, because the scientist’s work includes animal testing. Actually, the scientist was lucky: the ALF really wanted to burn the house down but settled instead for merely flooding the place. Nice. This is the same ALF that PETA co-founder and President Ingrid Newkirk wrote about approvingly in her book Free the Animals! The Untold Story of the U.S. Animal Liberation Front and Its Founder, ‘Valerie’. According to Amazon.com, Newkirk "is one of the few people with firsthand knowledge of the ALF and is personally acquainted with the organization's founder." Furthermore, Newkirk: …gives interviews to ALF’s publications, supports the legal defense efforts of ALF criminals (with PETA’s money), has been subpoenaed in regard to her ALF connections, and has even been accused in court documents of participation in the ALF arson of a Michigan State University research lab. I think it’s safe to say that Newkirk would have approved of this recent terrorist attack on a scientist’s home. Newkirk is so strongly opposed to animal research that she has said: even if animal research resulted in a cure for AIDS, "we'd be against it" So she’s uncompromisingly opposed to animal testing. Well, as it turns out, not so much. Not when she needs modern medicine, at any rate. You see, recently she broke her wrist: Just as I was setting out to launch my new book, Let’s Have a Dog Party!, I met a wet floor and went splat, neatly snapping the bones in my wrist. Ooh, the pain! Thank goodness for IV drips. Thank goodness for IV drips. IV drips. That would be those same intravenous anaesthetics that were tested on rats, rabbits, dogs, cats and monkeys. Apparently she’s not opposed to that animal testing. So unopposed that she thanks "goodness" for it. Now, you may say, Newkirk didn’t have a choice in this matter, or that Newkirk believes animal testing was unnecessary to develop these medications and procedures. Well, if you think that, I’ll just refer you to PETA’s Animal Testing page, that unambiguously states: Send back items that you have from companies that test on animals... From the comments to the PETA blog, I think we can assume that Newkirk is now aware that her painkillers were, in fact, tested on animals. So can we assume that she will now refuse (“send back”) any more painkillers? Or will she, like PETA Vice President and insulin (tested on dogs, rabbits and mice) dependent diabetic Mary Beth Sweetland, continue to enjoy the benefits of animal testing while supporting terrorist acts on the scientists who provide them? I think we should be told. Another fucking hypocrite. November 10, 2007 in General Skepticism, Science | Permalink Technorati Tags: ALF, Animal Testing, Ingrid Newkirk, Mary Beth Sweetland, PETA
  11. Animal Rights Uncompromised: PETA on 'Pets' We at PETA very much love the animal companions who share our homes, but we believe that it would have been in the animals' best interests if the institution of "pet keeping"—i.e., breeding animals to be kept and regarded as "pets"—never existed. The international pastime of domesticating animals has created an overpopulation crisis; as a result, millions of unwanted animals are destroyed every year as "surplus." This selfish desire to possess animals and receive love from them causes immeasurable suffering, which results from manipulating their breeding, selling or giving them away casually, and depriving them of the opportunity to engage in their natural behavior. Their lives are restricted to human homes where they must obey commands and can only eat, drink, and even urinate when humans allow them to. From Peta's website In Peta's perfect world there would be no pets.
  12. PETA Senior Vice President MaryBeth Sweetland on her use of insulin, which was tested on animals: "I'm an insulin-dependent diabetic. Twice a day I take synthetically manufactured insulin that still contains some animal products -- and I have no qualms about it ... I'm not going to take the chance of killing myself by not taking insulin. I don't see myself as a hypocrite. I need my life to fight for the rights of animals." --Glamour, January 1990 Sounds like a hypocrite to me. She benefited from animal research and insulin made from animal products yet would deny that same research and products to your children. This one is a bit personal for me, I work with dying children and to think people like this would deny research to develope medicine that could save their lives or lesson their suffering is repulsive.
  13. The worst thing about Peta is they are fucking hipocryts. One of the VP'S for Peta is a diabetic on pork insulin. This is the same group that would deny your child that same insulin. When ask about this, Peta's response was since her life was spent saving animals it was worth it. Peta's position on pet ownership might surprise some people, they are against it. From hamsters to service animals. They would put an end to "animal slavery" Fuck Peta
  14. The one that bugs me the most is when you hear people say after a killer is convicted that it will bring "closure" to the victims family. How the fuck would they know.
  15. I was reading in the safety section that it's recommended to have an IV starter kit along with fluids in the first aid kit. As a nurse I was wondering about the legalitys of starting an IV without an order. I mean if it was a very apparent life or death situation I would have no problem. Does anyone know the legal stuff on this?

  19. Many priests and theologians have commented about the gay sub-cultures in Catholic seminaries: An anonymous priest from the Boston area commented in an interview with Joe Fitzgerald of the Boston Herald: "there's a subculture of gay priests and everyone knows it. I went through seminary with a lot of them and got hit on. And when I reported it, I was harassed to a point where, emotionally, it was very difficult to get ordained. I'm not the only one who had to fight to get through it; I know guys who left because of it. It was clear there was a cabal tacitly saying, 'Don't bother reporting this stuff.' You wouldn't believe the self-justifications, like, 'Well, celibacy only applies to not getting married, so since we're not getting married we can do whatever we want.' It was horrible, with a lot of intimidation, but I stayed because I felt this was what God was calling me to do; besides, if I'd walked, they'd have won." 8 Father McBrien, a theologian at the University of Notre Dame, commented that some seminary students "...who feel they have a genuine vocation for priesthood go into a seminary and feel very alienated by the gay culture. I don't say this in any homophobic sense. It's just the reality." 2 Pope John Paul II held a meeting with the American cardinals which dealt with the clerical sex scandals. Afterward, Bishop Wilton Gregory, head of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops said: "One of the difficulties we do face in seminary life or recruitment is made possible when there does exist a homosexual atmosphere or dynamic that makes heterosexual men think twice [about entering.] It is an ongoing struggle to make sure the Catholic priesthood is not dominated by homosexual men." 9 R. Scott Appleby, a history professor at Notre Dame, said: "People I know quite well have left the seminary either in disgust because people are not keeping vows, or in alienation because they’re not gay. In some cases it’s a serious problem." 3 The Most Rev. Wilton Gregory said: "[T]here does exist a homosexual atmosphere or dynamic that makes heterosexual men think twice." 3 The Rev. Charles Bouchard, president of the Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis said: "I think straight priests and seminarians shouldn’t be whining. I just don’t think it’s a big deal." 3 Father Donald Cozzens wrote: "What impact does the gay subcultrue have on the straight priest and seminarian?....straight men in a predominantly or significantly gay environment commonly experience chronic destabilization, a common symptom of which is self doubt...Their psychic confusion, understandably, has significant implications for both their spiritual vitality and emotional balance." 10 Timothy Radcliffe, Master of the Order of Preachers, commented on the emergence of a homosexual sub-culture within a seminary or religious order: "It can threaten the unity of the community; it can make it harder for the brethren to practice the chastity which we have vowed. It can put pressure on brethren to think of themselves in a way that is not central to their vocation as preachers of the Kingdom..." 11 horizontal rule Associated essay: Exclusion of homosexuals from Catholic seminaries Roman Catholic priests with a homosexual orientation. horizontal rule References: The following information sources were used to prepare and update the above essay. 20. What percentage of priests have a homosexual orientation? Nobody knows, with any degree of accuracy. Any discussion of the role of homosexual orientation in the priesthood -- in fact any discussion of clergy abuse itself -- is hampered by a lack of hard, reliable data. Some estimates of the percentage of current priests with a homosexual orientation: Analysis of the estimates of others: According to Amanda Ripley of Time Magazine, estimates range from 15% to 50%. 3 According to Bill Blakemore of ABC News, "...nobody knows what percentage of the American priesthood is gay; estimates range from less than 10% to more than 30%." 4 Personal estimates: Richard Sipe, a psychotherapist and former priest, has studied celibacy, chastity, and sexuality in the priesthood for four decades. He has authored three books on the topic. He once estimated that 30% of the priesthood is homosexually oriented. 5 Elsewhere, he is quoted as estimating that between 25% and 45% of American priests are homosexual in orientation. 6 He told the Boston Globe: "If they were to eliminate all those who were homosexually oriented, the number would be so staggering that it would be like an atomic bomb; it would do the same damage to the church's operation...It would mean the resignation of at least a third of the bishops of the world. And it's very much against the tradition of the church; many saints had a gay orientation, and many popes had gay orientations. Discriminating against orientation is not going to solve the problem." Sister Maryanne Walsh, spokesperson for the National Conference of Catholic Bishops, said that it would it be difficult to find evidence to support these Sipe's estimates of the percentage of gay men in the priesthood. She feels that it is also irrelevant. She said: "There’s no real purpose in saying whether someone is homosexual or heterosexual. The issue is whether they can make a commitment [to chastity]." 6 Bishop Jerome Listecki is an auxiliary bishop in Chicago. He estimates that "perhaps more than 10%" of priests have a homosexual orientation." (Emphasis ours). 5 bullet Father Donald Cozzens, an author, psychologist, and Catholic seminary president says that there is such a high percentage of gay priests in the church that he is concerned that “the priesthood is or is becoming a gay profession.” 5 In his book, "The Changing Face of the Priesthood," -- published in the year 2000 -- he estimates that 50% of Roman Catholic priests have a homosexual orientation. A NBC report on chastity and the clergy found that "anywhere from 23 percent to 58 percent" of the Catholic clergy have a homosexual orientation. 7 Author and sociologist James G. Wolfe estimated that 48.5% of priests were gay. 8 Actual surveys: In the Fall of 1999, the Kansas City Star sent a questionnaire to 3,000 priests in the U.S. 73% did not reply. The low response rate could be anticipated. One would expect homosexuals and bisexuals to be reluctant to respond to the questionnaire since it deals with such a sensitive issue, and originated from a newspaper. Homosexual and bisexual priests would probably be less likely to reply to the survey. Among the 801 priests who did reply: 75% said they had a heterosexual orientation 15% homosexual; 5% bisexual. 9 During 1990, Rev. Thomas Crangle, a Franciscan priest in Passaic, N.J., mailed a survey to 500 randomly selected priests. Of the 398 responses, about 45% said that they were gay. 10 Conclusion: If we assume that all of the estimates are of equal validity, then about 33% of priests have a homosexual orientation -- about one in three. However, as Father Donald Cozzens has written: "Beyond these estimates, of course, are priests who remain confused about their orientation and men who have so successfully denied their orientation, that in spite of predominately same-sex erotic fantasies, they insist that they are heterosexual." 11 Many define "homosexuality" in terms of actual same-sex behavior. They regard themselves as not homosexual because they have never acted on their fantasies, desire and orientation. To that might be added an unknown percentage of priests who have a bisexual orientation, and consider themselves neither homosexual or bisexual. horizontal rule Sponsored link:
  21. This is Charles Keating. He stole $252,000,000 (£126,671,335) from people who he tricked into thinking they were making low risk investments, but were in fact funding his exuberant lifestyle and his frothing at the mouth hate campaign against anything non-catholic which he considered to be therefore pornographic and sinful. Mother Teresa really liked Charles Keating. So much so, in fact, did she really not want him to go to prison, for fleecing thousands of hard working Americans out of millions of dollars, some of which she had gratefully received as gifts from Keating, that she wrote to the trial judge on his behalf, begging for the understanding Jesus would show to such a generous man. Mother Teresa's letter to judge Ito in the trial of Charles Keating, taken from Christopher Hitchen's book 'The Missionairy Position: Mother Teresa in theory and practise' In her letter to the judge, she claimed to know nothing of Mr. Keating’s business or politics. To remind her of these trifling details, the deputy district attorney replied to Mother Teresa - explaining in no uncertain terms that, in his view, Jesus himself, if confronted with a man like Keating, would have no qualms about returning the money which had been given to him as it had been given to her, by a confidence trickster of Mr. Keating’s gaul and self-righteous insistence that other people are to blame for his actions. Dear Mother Teresa: I am a Deputy District Attorney in Los Angeles County and one of the persons who worked on the prosecution of your benefactor, Charles H. Keating, Jr. I read your letter to Judge Ito, written on behalf of Mr. Keating, which includes your admission that you know nothing about Mr. Keating’s business or the criminal charges presented to Judge Ito. I am writing to you to provide a brief explanation of the crimes of which Mr. Keating has been convicted, to give you an understanding of the source of the money that Mr. Keating gave to you, and to suggest that you perform the moral and ethical act of returning the money to its rightful owners. The biblical slogan of your organization is ‘As long as you did it to one of these My least brethren. You did it to Me’. The ‘least’ of the brethren are among those whom Mr. Keating fleeced without flinching. As you well know, divine forgiveness is available to all, but forgiveness must be preceded by admission of sin. Not only has Mr. Keating failed to admit his sins and his crimes, he persists in selfrighteously blaming others for his own misdeeds. Your experience is, admirably, with the poor. My experience has been with the ‘con’ man and the perpetrator of the fraud. It is not uncommon for ‘con’ men to be generous with family, friends and charities. Perhaps they believe that their generosity will purchase love, respect or forgiveness. However, the time when the purchase of ‘indulgences’ was an acceptable method of seeking forgiveness died with the Reformation. No church, no charity, no organisation should allow itself to be used as salve for the conscience of the criminal. Mother Teresa meeting the then head of the world's oldest intelligence agency and executor of the richest tax exempt organisation in the world. I remind myself of the biblical admonition of the Prophet Micah: ‘0 man, what is good and what does the Lord require of you. To do justice, love mercy and walk humbly.’ We are urged to love mercy but we must do justice. You urge Judge Ito to look into his heart - as he sentences Charles Keating - and do what Jesus would do. I submit the same challenge to you. Ask yourself what Jesus would do if he were given the fruits of a crime; what Jesus would do if he were in possession of money that had been stolen; what Jesus would do if he were being exploited by a thief to ease his conscience? I submit that Jesus would promptly and unhesitatingly return the stolen property to its rightful owners. You should do the same. You have been given money by Mr. Keating that he has been convicted of stealing by fraud. Do not permit him the ‘indulgence’ he desires. Do not keep the money. Return it to those who worked for it and earned it! If you contact me I will put you in direct contact with the rightful owners of the property now in your possession. To this day Paul W. Turley awaits a reply from Mother Teresa, as do the thousands of people Charles Keating swindled. If she is the shining light of Catholic Christian values; the torch barer of all that is moral and good, we are constantly told by the religious only those with faith in God can espouse and exude, you’ll forgive me if I don’t hold my breath while waiting for someone to effectually e
  22. Mother Teresa is not a great pick. she was a hippocrite of the worse kind. The medical care she gave was horrendous. She was no friend to the poor but a friend to poverty. She believed suffering brought one closer to god. when one considers the tens of millions she received from well meaning donors her care was pathetic. Have you ever seen pictures of her home for the dyings in Calcutta? no beds very few meds let alone pain killers. One of her favorite lines when someone complained about the pain was to say " when you feel pain, thats Jesus kissing you" to witch one replied " tell him to stop kissing me". There always seemed to be plenty of money when it came to building convents that bared her name. Several hundred were built with funds that were donated with the understanding they would help the poor. With her staunch catholic view on birth control she doomed countless women to lives stuck in abject poverty. When it came to her health care things were different, flying to western countries to receive the best care available. When Ireland tried to outlaw divorice, she was a staunch proponent. When Princess D, one of her close friends divoriced Charles, she said she was very happy for her and hoped Dianna would now have a happy life. A big contributer was Charles keating. When the US attorney general prosecuting his S&L scam, sent a letter to Teresa asking that the stolen funds she received be given back to the elderly that had been swindled, she never replied. Many volunteers from the west that went to India to work with her left disgusted. I know that you will find this all BS but if you SEEK the truth google it. you will even find the letter from the AG. I do also believe their have many Christian who have done wonderful things for the poor.
