Republican Pussies Charging for Town Hall Meetings
jclalor replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
Quayle was elected and Ryan re-elected in the 2010 Congressional elections, so that's out. Next smear attempt? You miss the point once more, I said someone who is running (Bachmann and Perry) can have private campaign events, this is nothing new. Elected members of Congress have always had meetings with their constituents, now these 2 pussies are charging (Even though they could expense the cost) to have ANY face time with their Congressman. I thought the tea party was in favor of a more open Government with the people having more direct access. I thought all of you tea baggers carried a copy of the constitution in your pocket. http://topics.law.cornell.edu/wex/First_amendment -
Republican Pussies Charging for Town Hall Meetings

Town Hall Schedule Congressman Quayle will be hosting a job fair on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Paradise Valley Community College in the Kranitz Student Center (KSC). A variety of Arizona employers will be on hand to discuss job openings with job seekers. WASHINGTON – Congressman Paul Ryan announced that the First District Mobile Office will continue its regularly scheduled visits to communities across Wisconsin’s First District in August and September. Click here for a list of scheduled stops for the First District Mobile Office. At each stop, a staff member of Congressman Ryan’s office will be available to meet with residents and to discuss concerns or questions they may have about federal legislative issues and government agencies. First, Quayle did hold a job fair for 1000 people, commendable. He did not take questions from his constituents, remember when the Democrats took questions during the healthcare debate? Second, Ryan announce that his mobile office with staffers will be taking questions? what a pussy. I can call the WH and talk to some idiot who takes questions too. You do know their is a difference in talking to the real guy? The Dems took their lumps from their constituents on healthcare. these 2 are pussies. They are afraid of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5kgnE1Xvec -

Oh really. So if I just show up at a Presidential event where people are paying $10k a seat (and being served a rather mediocre meal) to hear the President speak I'll just be allowed in because 'the Constitution guarantees accees'? First of all, the President is not a member of Congress. No where does the Constitution say you have the right to chat with the President, it does say you have the right to redress Congress. I clearly said that Perry and Bachmann, who are current elected officials, do not need to allow anyone through the doors at their reelection events. Do you see the difference. -
Louis L'Amour was a fiction writer. ...who knows a great deal about the old west from researching the books he's written. Does John Grisham know nothing about jurisprudence because he writes fictional novels about the law? Does Tom Clancy know nothing about the Armed Forces because he writes fictional novels about military conflict? You do have a point. But I think people on a certain level were more polite, and less likely to be killed by errant gun fire directed at a rival crack dealer. The price of a gun was out of the reach for most people, so I bet per capita, gun ownership is much higher now. I just believe guns and alcohol are never a winning combination.

I had no idea GWB was a Democrat. The things you learn here. Since I'm a 'neither' I'll throw either side under the bus. Hillary did the same thing during her candidacy. I would hope that you can appreciate the difference between someone running for a position, as opposed to someone who is already elected to that position. While it is true Hilary was a member of Congress while she ran for President, you would not expect Governor Rick Perry or Rep. Michelle Bachmann to have all of their campaign events public. The reason they are charging is to discourage people who may ask questions they do not want to hear. The Constitution states that we should have access. Republicans say they are big on the Constitution. They never charged for town hall meetings in the pass because they can be reimbursed for these expenses. Remember when all the tea baggers let loose on the Democrat's town hall meetings over healthcare? Can you imagine what they would have said if they needed to pay to get in? That's why these 2 guys are pussies. -

Typical misinterpretation. Venue charging for catered dinner != charging for a town hall meeting. Odd how I didn't see you post about the $38 *THOUSAND* dollar per plate dinner Obama had in April. Can you show where they are willing to meet with there constituents without charging a fee? Are you completely oblivious to the fact that Presidents do this? This one isn't even worth the time to post a link to show you Bush doing the same thing. -

Paul Ryan and Ben Quayle denying the right of the people to redress Congress. http://www.alternet.org/newsandviews/article/651214/this_is_real%3A_gop_so_afraid_of_public_outrage,_they're_charging_you_to_ask_them_questions/ -
Frequency matters. The less intelligent will say stupid things more often. When the best that people can do is quote Obama from 2 years ago, and Bachmann sticks her foot in it almost daily, there is a difference. Stay tune folks, she is just warming up.

Here ya go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPT2drqX16Y And to think we have over a year more of these little gems coming.

I may have been insulted if that had come from someone who was not a fucking drunk. My apologies to everyone for my totally immature and stupid comments that I made. I have no excuse. Chris

The earth is round refuted. http://www.alaska.net/~clund/e_djublonskopf/Flatearthsociety.htm

That first quote does not sound like something an Atheist would say. Edited to add: Are you suggesting God can knock out the small problems lickety split, but the huge one's can take some time?
-
I may have been insulted if that had come from someone who was not a fucking drunk. I'm getting better, can't you tell? Not in the least.

OMG Theocracy!!!!111!!!! Oh, wait...that got blown away in the other thread. What pisses us off, is when a Real American Atheist hero, who gives up fame and fortune for his country, is treated like this by his government. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qP4h4WwX0NI

You have no idea how tired I get. Oh, I don't doubt it in the least - all that back and forth dragging them to and fro as your 'arguments' get destroyed in turn. You never did respond to the fact that the bible says to pay your taxes (no matter what the fuck they are for) and to be submissive to the Government. I on the other hand can bitch about taxes, because I do not subscribe that bronze age book that is suppose to be a blueprint for my daily life. When even an Atheist like me can understand how Jesus felt about the poor and then you, the big chest beating Christian, have no fucking clue, it's pretty funny.
-
You have no idea how tired I get. No wonder you're never able to make an extra point...maybe you should drink more gatorade, it has electrolytes. it's called sarcasm.
-

Yes it is, both are tax exempt.

Are you saying there are no liberal Christians? Christians in general probably give more to charity so they build things like this. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.jeremysarber.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/crystal-cathedral.jpg&imgrefurl=http://jeremysarber.com/2011/03/17/how-dare-the-church-suggest-we-follow-biblical-teaching/&h=355&w=500&sz=155&tbnid=exK25MhDB1MD5M:&tbnh=90&tbnw=127&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dcrystal%2Bcathedral%26tbm%3Disch%26tbo%3Du&zoom=1&q=crystal+cathedral&docid=CN77Py0fT-CQHM&sa=X&ei=1dhJToLVE4HmiALg6On9Bg&ved=0CGIQ9QEwBg&dur=116

It is comically obvious that the goal here on SC is not in inflict belief but to seek and destroy anything that is not understood. Those who fail to grasp the meaning of life will be damned if they sit idly by and let anyone else present evidence outside the holy grail of contemporary scientific thought to the contrary. They ignore the gaping holes the scientific method will never solve. But instead present their gospel of meaningless and futility as the answer to mans aspirations. I don't think you will find one person here who does not support your right to believe anything you want. You will find opposition when you want to control the lives of people based on your bronze age superstitions.
