My favorite part is during the dive, the jumper taps the pilot on the shoulder to ask a question. -
Scientists feel stifled by Bush administration
jclalor replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in Speakers Corner
http://www.theatlanticwire.com/politics/2011/09/obamas-smog-standard-capitulation-enrages-environmentalists/42060/ Why aren't they calling this President "Anti-science?" Here's another president who views somethng else as more important. He's not anti-science, though. Nope. He's just feckless. He's gone corporatist. He's an appeaser. He's not anti-science. Could it be that there are competing interests? Yes, the scientific committee unanimously voted for the regulation. Does it mean that this President is "Anti-science?" Or does it mean that as President, he cannot be a one-trick pony? I am glad to see that the many on the left are criticizing the President. I'm just wondering if they'll call him anti-science. Its just a pathetic attempt to pander to the right, perhaps he also thinks he can boost the employment numbers a smidge. It's getting kind of embarrassing. -

Lee loaders are great, when I was in high school I reloaded all my .308 rounds with one. They may be a bit slow, but well worth it.

I guess since this is written by a black man, it must be true.

But I thought the leftist press would never be critical of Obama during an election cycle?

I'm glad he changed the date, much better too watch the Republicans start eating each other alive uninerupted.

Amendment 15: "the right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude." Amendment 19: "The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex. " You list amendments that give reasons as to why you cannot deny a person to be able to vote, however, There is no "right" to vote in the constitution. -

California to Toughen Parole Chances for Those Sentenced to Life.
jclalor replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
I was astounded to learn the number of people, from out of the 988 that had been paroled in the last 20 years, after being sentenced to life, turned around and killed again after their release. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2011/08/29/MNOJ1KSFD6.DTL&type=politics -

Maybe this law goes too a little far, but I would rather error on the side of protecting children. And before you start bitching about liberals, remember who signed this into law. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/31/nyregion/bullying-law-puts-new-jersey-schools-on-spot.html

Burglar's family awarded $300,000 in wrongful death suit
jclalor replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
Now, it's ok to get high on meth and rob anyone you want. What a bunch of bullshit. These scumbags got what they deserved. The death penalty for a car stereo? Next you're gonna say it's alright for drunk five year old's to be shooting burglars. -
Now the outrage when your guy is going to have a magnifying glass up his ass... Where was all this outrage at Fox?

I have a strong preference for younger African-American midgets?

No, driving a car is banned after drinking past a threshold level of intoxication (which for me is at least 3 rounds), and only until the liver clears it out. You can still possess a car, can still get in the car. I'm still wondering if you think drinking, handling loaded weapons, and shooting are ok while drinking?
-
Just like drinking and driving is a bad idea..... The difference is that to prevent drinking and driving most people don't try to ban cars. You miss the point, Cars are banned after you have been drinking. I always thought that it was common sense to never mix alcohol and guns. Are you suggesting that drinking and handling loaded firearms is alright? The NRA says you should never handle guns after drinking.

I think you have to also factor in that you are covered from the beginning for disability and or death benefits for your children. A third of SS is paid out to people well before their retirement.

Once again the media whips everyone into a frenzy...
jclalor replied to airdvr's topic in Speakers Corner
It reminds me of coverage like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8slEPV9LyS0 That's a great one. This morning the bimbos were actually kind of sad that there wasnt a ton of death and destruction. Reminds me of Geraldo faking a dive into a fox hole because he was ' under fire !!!'. Yeah right. It seems every year they get more and more pathetic. They have a bunch on Youtube of Irene, some are pretty damn funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLF_0yqfKfo -

I say the jury was right on the mark with this one, they should have also been convicted of murder. http://www.gazette.com/articles/jury-123946-burglar-lot.html -
Who would have ever thought the Republicans could produce Presidential candidates who make Dubya look like a moderate?

It's funny how lot's of Christians claim that not enough Muslims come forward to denounce extremist... Until it's one of their own. He is in all likelyhood the most visible Christian in this country, and it's like pulling teeth to get any Republicans to denounce him and his crazy ramblings. One of my favorite quotes: "God considers this land to be his. You read the Bible and he says 'This is my land,' and for any prime minister of Israel who decides he is going to carve it up and give it away, God says, 'No, this is mine.' ... He was dividing God's land. And I would say, 'Woe unto any prime minister of Israel who takes a similar course to appease the E.U., the United Nations, or the United States of America.' God says, 'This land belongs to me. You better leave it alone.'" --Pat Robertson, on why Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon suffered a massive stroke Pat has an endless supply of material.

People who think that because a candidate is Christian, that they beleive the Earth is 6000 years old. Not all, just the front running Republican. Who now appears to be all by himself, he has such a lack of a basic understanding of science that he is truly frightening. The whole world looks at us with amusement. You've said the same about Bachmann - what's the matter, can't keep up with what bullshit you've said about what candidate? Bachmann is finished. Perry is out in front by a large margin and the race is his to lose, I would love to see Bachmann win the nomination, that would ensure another 4 for for Obama. Outside of Huntsman and Paul, all the republicans running this year are religious nuts who are anti-science. Evolution is just a theory like ID? did you see all those nuts during the debate? they were asked about creationism and all but the previous mentioned 2 said they don't believe in evolution.
