    You're a non-believer, right? Did you ever read the 12 steps? If your BS-detector didn't get ballistic over those, you really need to do the course "Scepticism 101" again. The twelve steps are a steaming pile of semi-religious horse crap, but just like Homoeopathic medicine (=water) it works for a lot of people. That doesn't make it any less nonsensical to me. No one knows how well 12 step programs like AA work because AA has zero data. It appears to be about the same as people who get sober alone. Not to mention the fact that for years the state mandated that a person must attend AA or NA meetings when it is based on religion. recent court rulings have shown that AA is religious by nature. \

    I jumped with an open face for 4 years, a friend offered to give me his old closed face as he had bought a new one. I had never experienced claustrophobia until I tried on the full face. It also seemed like my peripheral vision was limited.

    I was a virgin until I was 26. I think that was my first clue about there being no all-loving God In all honesty, it's all the suffering that God lets happen. I have heard every biblical explanation for suffering and none of them work for me. As many of you know I work with very sick and dying children, It's bad enough God does this to these children but then just for shits and giggles, he really fucks with them. We have 2 kids that have had both of their parents die in the last two years. Now they have nothing, no one to visit, on one to buy them birthday or Christmas presents. And now my favorite time of year is coming when all the well meaning Christians come in and sing Christian songs with the kids that espouse the miracles that Jesus will do if you just pray enough, Let me tell ya, we get some hard praying kids for a while after that, We all know what the results are.

    I went 12 years with out smoking.... then I turned 13. I'ts been 7 months for me after smoking 25 years, best decision I have ever made, despite my free fall speed picking up. I found after a week it was all downhill.

When he is reading from his book about his AFF, he states when he first deploys he is 7 or 8 seconds from the ground. He also says that any skydiver will tell you that 5,000 feet is "next to nothing"
