Gingrich wanted ‘open marriage’ with both wife and mistress
jclalor replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
Evidently it was also the bedroom of his ex-wife. It is a bit entertaining when we are told over and over how being a Christian makes you morally superior to a non-believer, and that they and they alone knows whats right for society. If Newt did not have such a strong opinion about what other consenting adults do in their bedroom, I would not give a shit about what he does in his. Newt is 68 and his "current wife" is 45? Was there not a thread in the other forum that stated any relationship with someone who is younger than half your age plus seven years is creepy? I was shocked to learn she was only 45; looks like she could be 55. -

I gotta say, after a few years of marriage, you would have to have a pretty good idea if she's gonna play ball before you roll that option out. -
How long are the visitations? Perhaps it's all summer long. Maybe they alternate months with the child. How old is the child? There are so many variables that to try and second guess this one is impossible.

Pissed ? probably. With Newt not being able to keep his dick in his pants during his marriage and then marries the slut , what would you expect from the X. -

I just love his idea of defending marriage. http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/campaigns/ex-wife-tells-abc-news-gingrich-wanted-open-marriage-with-both-wife-and-mistress/2012/01/19/gIQAmRnpAQ_story.html -

Haley Barbour pardons nearly 200, including killers
jclalor replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
One of those pardons shot and killed a woman and her young child as she held the child in bed , another shot and killed someone in the course of a robbery. I would say they will always be a threat to society. HB says that they were great guys and that he never saw any violent side to them; no fucking shit. All these guys have to do is behave for a few years and then they know their out of there. I bet there is still a shit load of people in prison for non-violent drug convictions, those are the ones that should be pardoned, not cold blooded killers. -
I don't hate Tebow, I do hate the Tebow Phenomenon. Why do all these Christians think that God is more concerned with the playoff ambitions of the Denver Bronco's quaterback over some of the more pressing world problems?

But is a businessman first. Did I forget to mention that the current POTUS is a lawyer? But Obama was a community activist first, how odd.

US Feds Spend $666,000 on Prayer study to Cure Aids
jclalor replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
Rest assured, that if one dime of taxpayer money was spent studying if Muslim prayer cured trichinosis, there would be a great whaling and gnashing of teeth from you guys. The point of the thread was not the dollar amount, but the fact that money was spent by the US Government on a magical cure in 2012. -

jclalor replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
I respectfully disagree. I think, on balance, that it's a net benefit. While I agree that the President's and governors' pardon authority can sometimes be abused, the framers of the US and various state constitutions put that in there for a reason, after a lot of complicated and often contentious hashing out of the pros, cons and competing agendas. There are times when a conviction seems terribly unjust, but yet is affirmed on appeal. There are times when a conviction is quite fair, but the sentence is unreasonably harsh; yet it is affirmed on appeal. There are times when a person's conviction and sentence were reasonable when issued, but years later the person becomes deserving of clemency. There are times when a person stands in jeopardy of criminal charges, where the prosecutors and judiciary would be duty-bound to do what they have to do, but the Executive feels that the good of the people is best served by avoiding a prosecution (example: Ford's preemptive pardon of Nixon). In each of those cases, there is no further remedy to be had in the judicial branch (and the legislature is powerless to act), so the only remedy available is by the Executive's authority to issue pardons and commutations. Government is messy and imperfect. Every branch of government, and its agents, can overstep their bounds and exercise their respective powers imprudently. Hopefully, though, the benefit that comes from those powers being exercised properly most of the time outweighs the detriment from them being abused occasionally. Governor Barbour states that there is a long tradition of the Governor pardoning all of the convicts who work at the Governor's mansion during a Governor's term. If this is the case, it's not the Governor who pardons them, it's the prison official who assigns the convict to the position. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=615ONELskI4 -

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-alternative-medicine-20111211,0,568012.story What a shocker. What is shocking? The Federal Government wastes our tax dollars. What's new? So we are in agreement, finally. -

Outside of the 666 part, there was nothing funny about spending that much money on Hocus pocus bullshit. http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-alternative-medicine-20111211,0,568012.story What a shocker. -
footage emerges showing U.S. troops urinating on dead Afghan bodies
jclalor replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
The words of someone who has no intelligent response left. While most US soldiers are honorable, to defend these few guys, who clearly have no honor, does nothing but dishonor the majority. -
I think your argument for Christianity is more convincing without your gun pointed at us.

Your childish understanding of human sexuality is embarrassing. How so? I have had clients who participated in the practice. You think this type of behavior only happens in the military after the repeal of DADT ? When American troops are being killed on a daily basis, and you joke about them pissing on each other? Classy. -

Your absolutely right, war is very nasty. The last thing wee need to do when we are fighting a crazed enemy that has the majority of the support of the local population, is to have photos of us pissing on them. This video will not result in more of our troops coming home in the same condition they left in. What did the vast majority of the foreign insurgents say was their reason for coming to Iraq and fighting the Americans? hinkprogress.org/politics/2008/06/17/24842/mora-abu-ghraib-and-guantanamo-are-first-and-second-identifiable-causes-of-us-combat-deaths-in-iraq/?mobile=nc -

Ethics and safety question re manufacturer placard
jclalor replied to jpriestley's topic in Gear and Rigging
I would think the manufacturer may be more inclined to make sure this never happens again in the future if they had to pay a few bucks. It seems that some else could die as a result of them turning a blind eye. -
I was first on the scene of a canopy wrap. one was without a palpable pulse and one was critical, and you say I should have not performed CPR?
