  1. Perhaps...I just think this subject is rather broad. I guess it's all relatively subjective and is certainly a matter of perspective. 200 years ago people got along just fine with candles, but when we had the northeast blackout of 2003 it was like chaos over here in Detroit. We are certainly more vulnerable to catastrophe the more we continue to rely on technology and bureaucratic bullshit as they permeate every facet of our society. I was gonna facetiously call it something like "social entropy," but it turns out there is already a theory on that. I think this is an accurate depiction of early European daily life. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grbSQ6O6kbs
  2. I tend to think of these as the best of times. http://www.miamiherald.com/2011/09/24/2421920/hard-facts-the-world-is-getting.html#storylink=cpy
  3. Your apocalyptic views are not novel, they have been at the forefront of Judeo-Christian writings and beliefs for thousands of years. Every generation has spoke that we are now living in 'The worst of times" and God will soon deliver us from all the wickedness and evil in the world. It really is getting old. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Coming_of_Christ

  5. Teach them that there are various scientific opinions, just as you would teach them the other various scientific opinions concerning the lunar landings, 911, and big foot. Children should be first taught the basics of the scientific method.
  6. Being a little selective on our quotes are we ?
  7. Some good stuff in the OT. Ezekiel 23:19-2019: "Yet she became more and more promiscuous as she recalled the days of her youth, when she was a prostitute in Egypt. (20) There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses." I wonder how they spin this one for the little ones in Sunday school. There are many colorful depictions of human history that we don't force onto our little ones in kindergarten...show-and-tell, finger painting and nap time is much more fun! At what age would you say is appropriate for a detailed study of these verses? I have always preferred Ezekiel 25:17
  8. the obvious flaw with your canard here is that people don't abort babies. A few days old cells does not make a "Baby"

  10. I am not in favor of of affirmative action, my point is that the way the trend is going, Asians will soon be in the vast majority at the UC system. Blacks and Hispanics are now pissed at the Asians.
  11. African Americans and Hispanics are challenging California's prop 209, that eliminated affirmative action in 1997; but it's not the whites their pissed at. Read more: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2012/02/13/state/n010134S40.DTL#ixzz1mLbKrFJW ***At UC Berkeley, the current freshmen class of California residents is roughly 1 percent Native American, 3.5 percent black, 15 percent Latino, 30 percent white and 48 percent Asian, according to UC data.
  12. You will simply be on the wrong side of history. Over the past several years, support among the under 35 segment of the country has their support for Gay marriage running close to 70%. One day in the future, when you are much older, your opinion on Gay marriage will be considered nothing more than a pacuilarr oddity of a different time by your young and baffled grand kids. It's not a mater of if, it's just a matter of when.
  13. I would be impressed seeing a flying squirrel get tossed out at 13k. Put a little GPS system on him.
  14. Typical Lalor.... In the past 3 months each of your 10 responses to me were some type of ad hom personal attack...that's 10 for 10 consecutively. That's gotta be some kind of record, dude. You don't stick to the issue because you can't. Doesn't it ever get tiring having people constantly bust you up? ...and btw, my drinking has nothing to do with your inability to comprehend wtf it is you're reading, whether it be the news, scripture, or your little nurse nancy medical books... You know what I do comprehend just fine? Your drunken, homophobic, and racist rants that get deleted at three in the morning. Drunken degenerate Christians always seem to bring out the best in me
  15. Or you can read the entire artical....and you don't have to worry about making this stuff up. Romney is spot on. The rich don't need help, the poor don't need more help. The middle class is getting killed. Besides he's just preparing to defend his success. Certainly he's a bad person because he was successful. I did read the entire article, and he said he is not concerned about the very poor. I think a large portion of Americans believe, rightly or wrongly, that they are closer to very poor as opposed to very rich, and will be even more motivated to vote Democrat. Romney is doing nothing but banking on the historical fact that the poor have a very low turnout on election day. Personally I'm thrilled he said this, just wait until the TV ads in the fall. Don't you mean a fried chicken dinner?
  16. I'm not concerned about my car...it has a great anti theft protection system and is locked away in a garage with it's own alarm system. I'm not concerned about my child's next meal...The fridge is full of food. You're only concerned about your next drink.

  20. No wonder we are the laughing stock of the world, only here would you be belittled for speaking a second language. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyFaWhygzjQ
  21. Zero, if the Republicans had their way. The list you provided is not what they claim the federal government should be funding. BTW, what is it, socialism, communism, or "crony capitalism" that Obama supports?
  22. The combination of degenerate alcoholism and Christian fundamentalism always make for some remarkable entertainment. Dude, instead of looking for Jesus, you should be looking for a moment of clarity.
  23. No other way to see it. Beyond classless, they are fucking criminals who do their cause absolutely nothing.
