  1. You just haven't been a member long enough to see how or know the "good old boy" network. And yes the current skyscam issue is worth being pissed about due to the conflict of interest on Doc Lee from TX. Then we have the midwest RD who sits on the safety and training com. taking a child on a TDM without taking the time to file the waver for age and this is the same guy who runs around the country as a IE and CD telling everyone else to follow the rules he sees fit to bust. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  2. It's time to fire everyone up at HQ and the full BOD even all the RD's and start over with only fun jumpers sitting in the seats. Yes there are some good people on the BOD right now, but it time to clean house, the whole house and not just one room! it should required that as a BOD member or employee of HQ that you make no money what so ever in or from skydiving while on the BOD or working @ HQ. There needs to be term limits in place of 4 years max, the days of the likes of some holding office for 14 years or longer needs to end. I hope you all remember how fucked up the current USPA is at voting time and vote in some new blood and not another round of DZO's. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  3. Thank you for taking the time to be a moderator and for all your hard work. I wouldn't worry about trying to fill quades shoes, just keep on doing as you have been and we all know as you & us learn more over time the "read here" will be updated, kind of a work in progress just like learning to skydive with or without a camera, you can never stop learning or trying to improve in this sport. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  4. Sorry for being a dickhead in this thread, but it just seems like it's time to add a "read this before posting here" because it just seems that too many noobies don't bother to read the stickies at the top of the page and it's gets really really old seeing the same simple questions being asked by those who are new but to lazy to search or read the stickies. As the new moderator of this fourm maybe you can think up a good way of getting this message across to other new visitors, and then we would feel the need to be so blunt in our replies, it's not like the info people seek is some big secret you have to shell out a grand to buy a password to get it in the forums. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  5. Good work........There are you happy now. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  6. Macintosh's imovie and itunes & iphotos for stills it's quick, clean and very proffessional looking end product, mac's come out of the box with all those, so simple to use even a dzo can do it..... you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  7. That's because in the U.S. we do it the right way and those ass backwards canooks are just trying to be "special"..........I bet they had the book upside down while reading it. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  8. I don't really care what sex you are. And no I'm not an ex-grunt. And NO I have no problem with people asking about safe camera flying in general, in fact I'm quite willing to answer questions or help teach it and have trained a number of camera flyers at my expense and with them using my personal equipment. HOWEVER I do expect that YOU and others like you take the time to do some research of the wealth of information that is contained within the vast amount of threads in this fourm,(ever wonder why we have sticky's at the top of the page, one marked FAQ) as well as visit with your local cam-flyers to get a basic understanding of what is and is not considered safe or usable equipment and skills, BEFORE you show up here and ask simple questions that have been answered a thousand times before by those of us who had to learn it the hard way or invented most of what is used today. The fact that you posted what you did in the first post screams quite loudly that you in fact are a lazy ass person that wants the info just handed to you, my guess is your quite young and like your peers one of the "drive-thru generation". Damn good advice!, maybe you should follow it and get off your lazy ass and start doing your home work or not and go ahead slap a camera on and go try it out and learn the hard way like the rest of us did. NO ONE is saying not to ask questions here, but EVERYONE is saying get a clue first and do a little leg work on your own first, your not the first person to ask those questions and you would have known that had you not been a lazy ass poster and done a few searches first! P.S. there is a good book by Patrick Weldon, as well as a new video from Norm Kent on the market today that with a little searching one could buy them and learn a hell of a lot. Have a nice day. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  9. Handbury? you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  10. Ah NO, I'm specifically suggesting that he and other noobies learn to use the search button and take the time to read the many many threads and advice that can be found in this fourm, BEFORE posting and asking stupid questions that clearly show that one has no clue about that of what they seek to know! And yes had this OP and the many others before had taken the time to vist with the locals at the dz after a 3 year layoff, one would have a slight idea of what the hell is going on and what info to seek out in more detail. Being a grumpy old fart has nothing to do with! Now back to your regular programing. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  11. I think your asking stupid questions! And if you would take the time to read and search this fourm for sometime before asking your [edit] questions, you would find 95% of the answers you seek and not look like twit asking [edit] questions like "how do I fly a canopy with a sidemount camera[edit]" Do you see the search button at the bottom of the page? Use it! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  12. If you have to ask simple questions like that the answers it NO, because it shows you have NOT taken the time to learn on your own or even understand the basics of camera flying.......search is your friend. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  13. And how much extra pay per jump are you getting for being "forced" to fly stills and the added risk to..... 1. your health 2. loss of investment 3. return on investment 4. future image sales (C-rights) you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  14. That "story" is still a pretty big story in an urban legend kind of way, but some "legend's" are well know for blowing smoke up peoples asses to make problems with the FAA go away. Kind of like if you walk around looking up and saying the sky is yellow, sooner of later others will see a yellow sky too. Oh yea and I also know owners of GS trac 2's who jump them because the stiches have not removed. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  15. I got a few turns in the right seat too. When I heard about the Bushmaster flying @ WFFC, right away I thought of Chuck and his stories of where to find just "One More Tri". you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  16. But....but....but he needs the faster speed for a better flair DUDE! And besides that what would you know about it anyway you old fart with your outdated way of thinking, who cares how you learned to swoop your 190 tuna boat 20 feet, that's not swooping, and I bet you land up close because your lazy to walk back......Show off. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  17. There was a man from Ottawa Kansas named Chuck Lemaster, Chuck flew the airshows & EAA fly in in his Ford Tri Motor "One More Tri". He was pretty well known for that plane, my dad flew crop dusters for him during this time frame. Chuck was the guy who always found that one more tri motor when everyone said there were no more left. Chuck sold "One More Tri" in the late 70's and went to Alaska, in the bush some place was a Bushmaster that some people were living in like a trailer. Chuck took it home and rebuilt it to flying condition, and if I remember correct, it was the only one in the world flying at the time, He took it around the fly ins and airshows for a while, I don't know what ever be came of Chuck, he would be in his 80's now @ a guess. I think it is the same one in your post that flew @ WFFC, that Chuck Lemaster found and rebuilt when everyone said there were none to be found. I have a old newspaper story on him some place, I'll see if I can find it. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  18. Well your going to have to find a used one then the owner of this company died on a tandem jump in Hawaii and few years ago and I don't think anyone is making them now. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  19. You need to lay off smoking that shit. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  20. That fat fucking mexican is living in "boys town" naivo larado and pimping out his sisters @ the pilot truck stop on the other side of the border after he got to fat to climb in the cab. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  21. And this is why USPA is a fucking joke and why we need to boot out the "good old boy" network. This EC memeber should have no say in USPA business dealing with skyride. In fact they should be removed from their seat as a BOD member! If DZO's would stand up a no longer be GM dz's and demand "we" are members, we would see many exp. jumpers burn their membership cards and refuse to support the current system. IMO. Nice conflict of interest support there USPA. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  22. You would be correct. 1970's by the 1980's S/L FJ was 3200 you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  23. Any student doing a C&P or 5 sec. is at a point that it should be clear they will be around awhile, what is wrong with teaching them about the body will follow the head,? You know an explanation of why and not just telling them, "look at the plane". (covered once in S/L FJC already) If you take the time to teach them a proper exit, i.e., Head up and arch and explain the reason why head up w/arch, a large % will do as trained and not freak out and go head down or tumble, it's all in how you teach your student. Yes not all will do well, but most will if they are there to learn to skydive and you take the time to teach. Then again these days with 2 to 4 hour FJC's it's a wonder some of you even have an I, let alone know how to use it. 2800 was the norm for years, back in the day. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  24. See, I knew at least one of you would get it. (my post) you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
